Finally, a rainy day with nothing on the calendar. Well, there was a Mission Pilot checkride to give at noon, but that's scrubbed by said rainy weather. It required good VFR.
So, here we go.
It's been a month since Alan Baker and I exchanged anything here. Over that month the only CSMA posts I see are crosspost trolls. Why so quiet?
Alan is taking the year off from racing. So no boasts on that subject.
Ed, HH and other Mac advocates seem to have disappeared entirely. Basically CSMA as it existed a few years ago has died.
I suppose we could re-ignite the COVID debate with Alan, but what's the use? Here in the U.S. we seem to have taken the approach that if you are not going to vaccinate then good luck with COVID, and in too many cases, adios. Get immunity from Pfizer et al or COVID, your choice. End of story.
The wife and I have hunkered down a bit again as Delta spreads, but still are going to outdoor events as often as possible. We now have several close relatives who have acquired immunity via COVID since vaccines came out. None were vaccinated and none have had severe cases or died. My in-laws had an elderly anti-vax friend die from COVID a few months ago. Now two more like him from that same church group are in the hospital today with serious cases. So far no known breakthrough cases in our circle of friends and relatives.
The indoor symphony season has started. Proof of vaccination is required for attendance. The opening gala is Friday, and we will be there!
I do have some on-topic news. Apple Car Play continues to be a minor bother. Not just for me, but across auto platforms. Android Auto seems to be in the same boat. Here are a few articles I ran across and saved for the day I had some time to post:

In my Honda I get frequent Car Play disconnects about 10 minutes into a trip. It's a wired connection that requires unplugging the cord to reset. Once reset it seems to be OK for hours. Audio is still getting randomly dropped in multiple iOS apps. After 3 or 4 trips to the dealer and replacing the entire infotainment system I can fix dropped audio by cycling the offending app pause/play instead of unplugging the USB cord. Progress at least, I suppose.
Otherwise, life goes on. No recent computer, mobile or tablet changes. My aging HP inkjet AIO printer died a while back, so I bought an AIO HP Envy Photo 7855. It works fine for my purposes.
The wife's 98 year old mom finally sold her 1998 Pontiac last week. That was hard for her, but she really needed to give up driving.
My high school aviation class is going very well. Not surprisingly it's a good review for me as well as interesting for the students. We are getting into the physics of lift and control this week.
Peace, out
