Thanks to both Nat and David. One more question on
this line: has anyone ever attempted to research a
possible connection of Katherine Beaumont who married
William Lawrence (ancestor of Jane Lawrence Giddings)
to the Beaumont families of the Earl(s) of Buchan or
Baron(s) of Beaumont?

It is nearly certain that the John Lawrence who m. Elizabeth Bull was
NOT a son of William and Katherine (Beaumont) Lawrence. John and
Elzabeth (Bull) Lawrence were the grandparents of the immigrant
Lawrences of Ipswich, Mass., and Long Island, and the royal line comes
through Elizabeth Bull.

William and Katherine (Beaumont) Lawrence did have a son John bp. at
St. Albans Abbey, St. Albans, Hertfordshire, on 2 or 12 Jan. 1561/2.
There is no reason to believe that this John was the man who m.
Elizabeth Bull at St. Andrews, Hertford, Hertfordshire, on 9 Nov. 1579
and began having children in 1580. If he were, he was not yet 18 when
he married.

There were many Lawrence families in St. Albans, including serveal
unrelated lines.

Sorry about that!

No proof of something not being the case, is not evidence of anything at all.

There is no proof that shape-shifting alien reptiles do not control the Bank of England.
That is not evidence that they do.

This is not necessarily the case. I've come across incidences where the father is not 18 or over and so the possibility that the John Lawrence husband of Elizabeth Bull was the son of William and Katherine.

We may never know what David Greene found on the Lawrence family. As the article he promised never was written and I believe it was due to poor health. So sadly John Lawrence ancestry at this time is up in the air.

Thanks for confirming what I had long suspected that Greene did not write a piece on the Lawrences, except for the one on their descent from Charlemagne. When did Greene die?

I believe David Greene is still alive but I wouldn't expect a article from him.

Does anyone know the first two generations descended
from John Lawrence and Elizabeth Bull, their children
and grandchildren...?

Thanks.
