Hi, all,
Is this doable? I haven't made it work. No characters are entered.

Thanks,
Teresa

Hello,

I found that my typing was re-set to standard when I upgraded, although I had touch typing enabled prior to the upgrade. Check that setting if you haven’t already.

Yes, I do it all the time. I hit the number sign, the numbers (not dropped), and once I hit the last one, my device unlocks.

I'm sorry for the confusion. I was referring to onscreen Braille input, as in setting the rotor to Braille and entering it on the touch-screen.

If you are referring to my message, that's what I meant. I do a 3-finger swipe right to get to the passcode screen, and always. I then rotor right once to braille input mode, type my passcode as described in my last message, and that's it, my phone unlocks immediately.

Hi Alex, it's a very good question since Prizmo is so much cheaper. I've not yet tried the new version of Prizmo although until yesterday, prizmo was my OCR of choice on the phone. So I think to give a fair answer, I'd need to play with the new Prizmo a little. Will try to get to that over the next week but someone else may beat me to it.
I do like how in KNFB Reader, you get very good feedback, both through vibration and field of view reports, about the picture you're going to take. And once you take the picture, it just starts to speak really fast.

Ah,, ok, thanks, Alex. This is not working for me, however. I may be experiencing a bit of a learning curve. There doesn't seem to be much leeway once calibrating is finished. And I'm consistently getting "0 values".

Ok, I'm finally getting the hang of this. There is more of a muscle memory learning curve for me than I expected, but I've entered my passcode twice successfully. :)

Hi all,
Can someone give me some instructions to enter my passcode with my
braille display? As of now, I haven't gotten this to work? Do I need
to enable something on the rotor first? Thanks for all help!

Ok, I'm finally getting the hang of this. There is more of a muscle memory
learning curve for me than I expected, but I've entered my passcode twice
successfully. :)

I'm sorry for the confusion. I was referring to onscreen Braille input, as
in setting the rotor to Braille and entering it on the touch-screen.

Yes, I do it all the time. I hit the number sign, the numbers (not
dropped), and once I hit the last one, my device unlocks.

Unlock your device either with the unlock button by routing your Braille cursor to it or go to the previous horizontal page with dots 2-4-6 chord. If you use contractions while typing, press the number sign and letter sign before numbers or letters. If you don't use contractions, use Braille lower case for numbers and simply type the letters.

I had no problem with this in iOS7 but I just now figured it out in iOS8. Part of the problem was that I was I suppose being lazy and hadn't looked in settings to see what the defaults were now that input and output for braille displays are handled separately. What I finally did is this: I did chord-3,6 on the unlock button. Then I pressed chord-236 which then announced it was in eight-dot. So immediately I enterd my passcode numbers ain lower case and this worked.

I tried and tried to turn over a new leaf.
I got crumpled wads of tear-stained paper
thrown in the trash!
Then God gave me a new heart and life:
His joy for my despairing tears!
And now, every day:
"This I call to mind,
and therefore I have hope:
The steadfast love of the Lord
never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness."
