In fact I'm sure it breaks some unwritten rule whereby such things are
heavily flagged for some time to a point where the audience gets slightly
annoyed because they've known for ages but none of the characters has
guessed yet.
I haven't seen TA fans on gransnet, but there must be some, but this
was posted, not seemingly intended to be about TA

I don't know the details of the logging being proposed, and I am aware
of the current thinking about alcohol during pregnancy - but the logging
being proposed (if it's as I determine from that gransnet thread) seems,
to me, horrific (and I'm a man); it's part of the removal of rights once
pregnancy is confirmed. I see it - though I do see the differences too -
as being at least related to the virtual imprisonment of the pregnant in
those states of the US that are anti-abortion.
As one of the gransnet posters put it: a woman is more than a uterus.
(And as another said: how would the men react, if their drinking just
before conception was logged - on their medical records too, natch.)
