Newcastle 2-3 LFC
Man City vs Leicester (tomorrow)
LFC fight off a spirited Newcastle to win 3-2. Salah stretched off with a head injury but reports are that he's OK, though not 100% for Barca on Tuesday. Newcastle players and fans were acting like it's their World Cup Final. Your serve, City.

Top 4
B'mouth 1-0 Spurs
Hudd 1-1 Man Utd
Chelsea 3-0 Watford
Arsenal 1-1 Brighton
Ole, ole, ole! United's savior fails to deliver top 4 after an abysmal 11 game run which had just 2 wins and 7 defeats. Apparently no one at United had heard of the new manager bounce. The fluke in Paris might have been the worst thing to happen to United all season. 1 step forward and 3 steps backwards. Spurs trying their best to bottle it too by losing at B'mouth after being down to 9 men. Luckily for them, Arsenal also bottle it at home against Brighton. With a +8 GD and 3 points more Spurs are safe for top 4. Chelsea also clinch top 4 with win over Watford.

Relegation
Cardiff 2-3 CP
Cardiff down and out. Will miss Warnock and his press conferences. The guy was pretty entertaining.

Promotion
Norwich and Sheffield United promoted after royal late season bottling by Leeds.
Playoffs: Leeds vs Derby and WBA vs Villa.

The fluke in Paris might have been the worst thing to happen to
United > all season.

Hmmm.

3. Chelsea 71
4. Tottenham 70
5. Arsenal 67
6. Man United 66

Spurs, on the back of wonderful form (LLWLL), still have a GD of +8 on
Arsenal so can tank their final game and still qualify for the UCL. The
EPL can send 5 teams into the competition if Arsenal beat Chelsea in the
Europa League final. I wouldn't count on that happening given they're
useless outside of London (and Naples), should they beat Valencia.

Playoffs: Leeds vs Derby
Good performance by Lampard in his first full managerial season to get
Derby to the playoffs. All four playoff teams are former top division
champions, but I presume that has happened before . However, the
Baggies' last win (and only one) was a very long time ago 1920. Derby
won twice in 70s, Villa most recently in the early 80s, and Leeds most
recent title (surprisingly only their third given what a power they were
in the 60s and 70s), was in 1992, the last year before the somewhat
artificial EPL era started.

Leicester still have a decent chance of qualifying for the Europa
league, provided Watford don't win the FA cup. Two wins would put them
level with Wolves , but well ahead on goal difference. So they might be
up for this one, though it seems unlikely they can beat City at the
Etihad. Their last game is home to Chelsea, who are already safely in
the CL, and presumably thinking ahead to the Europa League final),
whereas Wolves are away to Liverpool in a game Liverpool really has to win.

Depends on what odds you ascribe to "decent chance", no ? Would you
buy a lottery ticket for 1 dollar, prize being 10,000,000, if you knew
the odds were 5 % of winning ?

In the lottery world, a 5% chance of winning is huge compared to the usual odds, which are down to about 8-9 decimal places of 1%. Or put another way, a 1 out of 15 million chance.

In the footballing world, a 5% chance of winning is rather small. As it is, 538 gives Leicester a only 2% chance of winning today.

In the lottery world, a 5% chance of winning is huge compared to the usual odds,
for sure. I am assuming some weird outside force is at work there, like
a clairvoyant who is right 1 time in 20 about winning numbers, and has
divulged this to you.

If I were a betting man, which I am not, I would certainly have a
flutter on Leicester winning today given those odds (50-1).

The odds of Leicester taking points off City were very good before the game, Brandon Rodgers held City to a tie twice in the CL wth his Celtic and they are not just in very good form but City are also desperate. But didn't say it before the game because then I'm blamed of being too harsh on City or anti-weufxing or something.

The last 45 mins of City having a go at the title. If they don't score (and they don't shoot on goal, they just pass pass pass), the title goes to Liverpool.

A very non-ManCity goal, to be fair

And ex-City man Iheanacho blows a really good chance to bring Leicester
level.

Clear proof that the Football Gods are with City in this title race.
