Where are all of the libtards hiding?
They seem to have gone silent as each day brings a new nightmare
courtesy of Joe Biden.

It's all part of Joe Biden's "America Last" program. The idea is to
destroy the country and he is doing it very well.

"Biden releasing 'enormous' numbers of illegal aliens into U.S."

numbers-illegal-aliens-u-s/>

"The Biden administration is releasing "enormous" numbers of illegal
aliens into the United States, according to a report from Fox News
that cites Border Patrol documents.

"At least 160,000 illegal immigrants have been released into the
U.S., often with little to no supervision, by the Biden
administration since March," the report charged.

That includes widespread use of a parole over recent weeks that
authorities previously had used only rarely, and that now has more
than 30,000 eligible for work permits.

The report explained since last March, 94,570 illegal aliens were
released inside the U.S. with Notices to Report, documents that
obligate the recipients only to check in with a federal official
when they get to their destinations – anywhere in the country.

Further, since just August 6, "the administration has released
roughly 32,000 immigrants into the U.S. via parole – which gives
migrants a form of legal status and the ability to apply for work
permits," the report said.

Those actions come despite the federal law requiring that parole be
used on a case-by-case basis when "urgent humanitarian purposes" or
"significant public benefit" are involved.

"Typically only a handful of parole cases are granted by officials,
but the Biden administration has been using it more broadly,
including in its parole of tens of thousands of Afghans into the
United States as part of Operation Allies Welcome," Fox News said.

Rodney Scott, a former Border Patrol executive, reviewed the
documents obtained by Fox News and said it appears the Biden White
House is abusing its authority.

Do Democrats think releasing illegal aliens into America is helping
them?

"By law and regulation a parole shall only be granted on a case by
case basis and only for significant humanitarian reasons or
significant public benefit. Neither of these appear to apply to the
current situation," he said.

He said while he was a field chief, he never approved more than five
or 10 paroles in a year.

"When I did, I ensured that the alien was monitored continuously and
was detained or removed as soon as the circumstances allowed," he
told Fox News.

The report said the Border Patrol documents also reveal since Aug.
6, the Biden administration has let loose another 40,000 illegal
aliens on their own recognizance.

Typically, the practices of the Customs and Border Protection call
for provisions that require aliens to report to ICE, and before
Biden's tenure, 81% did.

"The agency has not released its numbers for September, but in both
July and August there were more than 200,000 migrant encounters,
marking some of the highest numbers in two decades. Since then,
migrants have kept coming in large numbers. According to the
documents, Rio Grande Valley encountered 5,900 migrants in one week,
while Del Rio encountered more than 2,900 in the same period." Fox
News said.

Biden administration officials repeatedly have claimed that the
border is not open.

But, in fact, Biden ordered most of President Trump's border
protection efforts, which were succeeding in reducing the illegal
entry traffic, stopped or reversed when he took office. Those
included President Trump's border wall construction, his remain-in-
Mexico policy, and more."

What were you betting on?

Who doesn't know that this kind of twaddle is Rod Speed's approach, not
the modus operandi of Troll Killer Snit? It is all just projection... the
flooding, the sock puppets, the writing of gibberish, the outbursts...
the panties in a twist and tendency to show how butthurt he is over being
booted from the sandbox for crapping in it again... Rod Speed can not help
himself ;) I'm not fuming, just the opposite I'm laughing at him because
Rod Speed's nonsense is so transparent. He purposefully didn't introduce
all the criteria that he would soon dismiss... and we all know why. At
least he has his shills to back him ;)

Usenet is a free non-organization based on shared ethics that Rod Speed
lacks. Ending support for electronics is obvious.

It certainly appears to be the case. Nobody could be this
incompetent, not even sleepy Joe Biden.

His latest embarrassment is to beg the gas and oil companies to
reduce prices.
Sure.
Is Biden serious?
After he wages war on the fossil fuel companies now he asks them for
help?
He can't be serious.

I agree. He's a fscking fascist. Forcing vaccines onto people,
illegally spying on bank accounts, going after parents who protest
"woke" school curriculums. It's beyond belief. It's gotta stop.

I agree. He's a fscking fascist.
The policies that people are complaining about aren't really new.
Forcing vaccines onto people, ...
An exaggeration: the vaccines are only becoming required for those people
who want to be able to interact with the rest of society: they're free to refuse
it and not be employed, not attend public events, etc ... the "old way" of doing
this was to nail a "QUARRANTINE" sign on their front door, and if they didn't
comply, haul them away to be forcibly quarantined on North Brother Island.

<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Mallon#First_quarantine_(1907%E2%80%931910)>
illegally spying on bank accounts, ...
Except for how they're authorized by anti-terrorism and "Know your customer" laws
which have been on the books for years/decades.
...going after parents who protest "woke" school curriculums.
Translation: creating FBI files for people who made threats of violence / terrorism
against public officials. Again, nothing new.

Before anyone calls anyone else a fascist, it might be a good idea for
people to define what a fascist even is. Followers of the cult of useful
idiots believe that a fascist is anyone who disagrees with their
illogical, estrogen-based opinion.
That's the 'old' way of doing things. The new way is to use whatever
term you want and pervert the hell out of it however much you want. It
doesn't need to make actual sense because it was just lobbed for effect
anyway.

Oh, and the latest, is he's ordered the DHS to stop all workplace
enforcement because it results in too many illegal aliens being deported.
Well, a hiatus on that is probably a good thing. We need the workers
right now, man.
We have workers, but when we're paying them NOT to work.. why would they?

Of course, eventually the government gravy train will come to an end and
suddenly all the jobs will be filled by illegal aliens, and then they will
complain there are no jobs available.
they are now going to be taking jobs away from Americans.
Americans don't want to work those shitty jobs for shitty pay.
They certainly would if we stopped paying them to sit at home playing
games...

And of course, that requires so much taxation that if get an entry level job
you actually lose income. Of course, that means you will never move on to
anything better, and you will then be willing to support whomever continues
to promise to keep you in poverty to matter what it's doing to the rest of
the country, but let's not spend all our time talking about Democrats and
the destructive policies.
4.3 million Americans quit their jobs in August!
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/record-breaking-4-3-million-164726128.html
And just think... without all that government taxation.. people could afford
such things and have a much higher effective take home pay.

So clearly MORE taxation is the solution to the excessive taxation we have
now, and until we can increase taxes yet more, naturally we must spend the
nation into poverty.

Tell me... how long does this tax and spend cycle continue until you realize
that IT is the problem. IT is what is making wages so ineffective?

Do you realize a minimum age job now is HIGHER than what my father was
making while raising a family of 4?

Why is that pay so worthless today? Inflation, taxation and government
regulation.

Such dishonesty.
On your part. It's a quick proof that someone is shitty, when they
accuse someone of lying, without evidence. Congratulations, "Scout".
How could you know you wanted to snip it, until after you read it... I mean
it was only a few words.

Or are you suggest that you're SO opposed to hearing the other side that you
simply ignore EVERYTHING but your own thoughts?

Talk about close minded.

Apparently Chris hasn't learned that if you're not happy with the value you
receive for your work, the solution is to make your labor worth more.

A lot of people simply want enough to get by and refuse to do the work
necessary to do better.

Admittedly the gap between very rich and the rest of us has widened
dramatically in recent years.
Not when you consider inflation. In that case, some of the richest Americans
in our history occurred before you were born.
I think the key is to have a fair tax

Well, I would prefer a flat tax that EVERYONE pays, no exceptions, no

Will never happen, because politician can be bought by the wealthy.

Yawn... and the bottom 50% of the households in America are richer than 95%
of the worlds population.

Indeed, if our poor, based on their consumption of goods and serves, were to
form their own nation, they would be among the most wealthy nations of
Europe.

Are you aware that 50% of the world's population lives on a bit over $5 per
day?

They are the world's millionaires complaining they are poor compared to the
Billionaires.

Don't fret that too much. Every side in Washington is as good or as bad

Contrary to what you imagine, I'm no junkie.

I avoid sugar & caffeine; no chocolate.

I'm eating more rice, let's meat.

Seattle gives me 350 $/month for food, EBT/SNAP,
but no other subsidies.

I pay market rate rent+utilities+Internet ( 900 $/month ).

Seattle gives me 350 $/month for food
That's about $12/day for food. No wonder you cut down on meat and added
more rice :)

Once, with no savings and living paycheck to paycheck in 1982 Summer, I
took too large a course load without realizing it. When I noted my
mistake deadline to drop them with even partial refund had passed. Note
that I paid three times higher than American students for fees and
tuition! I figured if I wanted to keep the courses I had to quit work
and spend all my waking hours studying them for two months. So I placed
two month's worth of rent aside (all bills included) and filled up the
car's gas tank and was left with barely enough money for a pizza dinner,
let alone a two month supply of food, and fridge was near empty, plus I
never bought canned food. My last paycheck was already accounted for.

No sweats right? I called the one friend I had by then who lived in
another city to see if I could borrow food money for two months. He
always had money. But his American "roommate" (I was sure she was his
girlfriend but he wouldn't admit it - she wasn't hot enough) said he had
taken a trip to Iran and will be back just before Fall semester.

So I was trapped now. Didn't have anything to sell. Would I blow the
plan and drop the fully paid courses and keep the job? Or ... would I
still persist with my plan? :)

I would have about $10 left if I quit the job. I decided to go ahead
with the plan!

Bought a large sack of rice and another large sack of pinto beans. And
got busy with the plan. I knew I won't die or hurt myself.

Plan worked great. The only down side was that after a few weeks into it
nightmares of eating fruits and dairy products began and didn't leave me
till I went back to work after passing those courses. I would wake up in
the middle of the night soaked in sweat totally consumed with thoughts
of eating fruits and dairy.

Seattle gives me 350 $/month for food
That's about $12/day for food.
No wonder you cut down on meat and added more rice :)
It's 14 gallons of (cooked) rice per day;
( 10 cents/pound, 350/.1/30.5/8 ).

I paid three times higher than American students
for fees and tuition !
A real education is real expensive.
School matters because good art refines prior art.

Bought a large sack of rice and another large sack of pinto beans.
And got busy with the plan. I knew I won't die or hurt myself.
I prefer small white beans, a.k.a. "navy beans".
Post by Clutterfreak
Plan worked great. The only down side was that after a few weeks into it
nightmares of eating fruits and dairy products began and didn't leave me
till I went back to work after passing those courses.
I would wake up in the middle of the night soaked in sweat
totally consumed with thoughts of eating fruits and dairy.
Hmmm... imagine a runny egg on top !
Salt-n-pepper too, of course.

Interesting thing I learned was that none of my nightmares were about
eating meat of any sort or sweets or pastries or cakes or nuts. It was
always dairy products and fruits. That's what my body was craving for. I
think it should show that rice, beans, dairy products, and fruits forms
a complete meal. Nothing else is really needed if in a pinch. Another
thing I learned was that in the event of a disaster in USA you've got
about three weeks to live comfortably without fruits and dairy products
(if you don't have a supply of supplements). After that your body will
react and you'll really feel the hunger for them. Of course this is so
when you're using your brain all the hours that you are awake, which
consumes huge amount of nutritional input. If you're lying down and
doing nothing I guess your hunger will begin much later.

The feast I had after my first paycheck was a large excellent omelette
that included green olives and tomatoes, with a variety of fruits and
dairy products on the side :) Unforgettable.

Surely you were healthier then, eating less.

I don't recall craving fruit;
if I did, it was grapes.

After camping, once, I craved (massive)
cheeseburgers, milkshakes & fries.

Perhaps because that's what my parents gave us,
Sunday, when we were good ( Dick's DriveIn ).

I love cracking open my (InShell) pistachios;
Californian pistachio trees are Iranian clones.

I'm thinking of buying more oatmeal bars.

I might try some buckwheat too;
it's popular in Russia, Korea & Japan.

As far as health is concerned a few ailments and nuisances disappeared
shortly after the plan was underway, and sure enough appeared again a
couple of weeks after my diet became like usual. Nothing that important
though. It meant I was to some degree allergic to some substances they
added to processed food. For instance I remember to my surprise and
delight I didn't have any sinus congestion during sleeping in that
period. Could breathe better and slept better and deeper as a result.
Rice and beans, back then anyway, didn't have anything other than a few
vitamins in the rice bag added to them. But the way Iranians prepare
rice washes away all the added vitamins and stuff anyway. So in that
period I was really eating 100% non-processed food.

Another nice surprise was that I did not experience constipation at all.
Back then I was a very sloppy eater. Didn't pay attention to what is
going inside me. Result was that every now and then the combination of
stuff I had eaten would turn out to result constipation. I didn't
experience that in the two months. I think pinto beans has a lot of
texture to it which works as necessary fiber nicely.

An important thing I should add here (I wrote the original account in
just two or three minutes - no time to complete it). If just about
anybody else was in my shoes going through same plan he'd encounter
serious problems by scurvy. Two months is too long to go without vitamin
C. Scurvy would either blow the plan or would make him seriously ill.

That didn't apply to me of course cause I'd been taking vitamin C
supplement every day since junior high :) Thanks to my father explaining
it very clearly to me. A bottle of it has always been in my possession.

A lot of people don't know that and don't even think of that. They're
saved of course by fruits and vegetables and occasional drinks
containing added vitamin C. Otherwise they'd learn it the hardest way :)

Vitamin C alone caused creation of USA and the defeat of Napoleon by the
way. You wouldn't have a chance against British Empire if what was left
of their troops when they arrived at U.S. borders weren't totally
consumed with scurvy. Not even a chance! Do your history books say this
stuff to you? Our history books about USA were of French origin and they
said a lot of stuff to us that you never tell to your fellow Americans :)

I prefer fresh tomatoes, guacamole, potato salad,
hummus, pineapple & applesauce over pills.

Everyone's got "sleep apnea" ( dry mouth ).

They hedged their bets during the Revolution. It wasn't until the
British defeat at Saratoga, in a great part due to Benedict Arnold's
bold attack, that the French came on board. Losing New France still
rankled and it was a good investment to screw the Brits.

They're still around? There was one in Troy when I was a kid but I
don't remember ever eating there. The local burger joint was Jack's.
Originally it was a shack maybe 15' x 15 on a wide spot on the road near
a marsh. Onions constantly carmelizing on the grill with the burgers
piled high with onions. The rumor was it was started by a RPI student
for a summer source of cash and was so successful he decided it beat
engineering. He didn't even own the land it was on, just built his shack
and went into business. The business is still in operation but it moved
into a real building.

I'd pass it when driving home from a night of pub crawling in Troy and
it was irresistible. On a hot summer night you could smell the onions
for half a mile. Did I mention there were a lot of onions?

There weren't any around where I went to school to be thus tempted,
but we did have a local BBQ joint that we were frequently downwind
of ... a friend called that "unfair advertising".

Here's WC's "locations" map on their website:

<https://www.whitecastle.com/locations>

I knew that there were some in-State, but not of a more recent one
that's popped up that's actually not all that far away. Wonder how
many COLA readers have had a WC within the past few years.

White Castle is an interesting firm. During its growth periods
everything that was built was paid for from cash in hand, no
loans were needed. With that sort of conservative approach to
their business model it is no surprise they're still around.

There was a competitive copy-cat firm called "white tower" that
grew almost as large but in the long haul wasn't as successful.

There is apparently one White Tower restaurant still in business
and that's in Toledo Ohio. Best guess is they weren't using the
same (or even similar) business model.

From time to time I've seen frozen "White Castle" sliders being
sold in supermarket chains. When I was young I remember sliders
from both firms sold at $ 0.07 each. It was an inexpensive meal
that took at least 5 sliders to sate me in my youth. I'd be
willing to bet that on a pound for pound basis McDonald's was
quite competitive. Can't be certain any longer.

I think they hardly have any fat in them, that's why.

They resemble what they fed workers in Auschwitz cause their cooks were
pow's and didn't know any better what to do with what was available to
them.

I read somewhere that in the entire 4 years of its existence Auschwitz
patients didn't encounter tooth issues. Their diets combined with work
prevented it. Main problem for them was diseases that lice were the
vector. Zyklon B was first used to kill these lice, but then they got
creative with it.

Shchi can have fat if there is meat in it. In the '70s USSR I imagine
the recipe was heavy on cabbage.

Any beautiful women around ?
No, see: Genesis 3:16

Some bachelor trivia for you...

After fleeing from Hungry to London, 1933,
the British awarded (Jew) Leó Szilárd
the first (secret) patent for atomic fission.

He wrote the first draft of the famous
"Hitler might have nukes" letter to FDR, 1939;
Albert Einstein wrote the final draft.

Leó Szilárd is pictured here, beside Einstein:

http://Jeff-Relf.Me/EinsteinVsHitler.JPG
( Hitler banned _commoners_ from smoking )

Starting in 1921, University of Berlin,
student Leó Szilárd, age 22, was a close friend of
Professor Einstein ( age 42 ). Together, they spoke German.

They fled Germany because Hitler was killing "Jewish scientists";
Leó Szilárd in March 1933, Einstein in October 1933.

Einstein was a life-long pacifist;
he opposed the making of weapons
( except against Hitler, ha ha ).

Leó Szilárd was anti-nuke long before others knew what it was;
he feared he might be hung for war crimes, if Hitler won.

At age 54, he married his longtime, secret lover. No kids.
He ended up in a situation similar to Nikola Tesla...
...living high with no money.

Tesla & Szilárd are examples of how billionaires "keep"
old, distinguished men too, not just young, sexy girls.

Sounds like a stress lowering activity. The group-song, not the "licking."

A couple of my friends in high school were like me physics enthusiasts
but ended up in fine arts department (I did go to physics) aiming for a
career in theater. That was the love of their lives. Physics was just
interesting to them. The anxiety among students in fine arts was high.
Competition, jealousy, girls, success and failures, unfair cronyism,

department. I observed how they'd siphon out that stress. They'd "act"
but in the most horrible way in the privacy of each other's any chance

sometimes. Even the movie they made on his life ("Amadeus") had scenes
of such behavior.

department. I observed how they'd siphon out that stress. They'd "act"
but in the most horrible way in the privacy of each other's any chance
they'd get. I was present in some of them of course. Unbelievably
creative spontaneous acts that were so silly that made me literally
laugh on the floor of the room. A half hour of that nonsense and they'd
get calm :-) Stress was out. I suspect Mozart did the same thing
sometimes. Even the movie they made on his life ("Amadeus") had scenes
of such behavior.
The fourth semester of physics was quantum theory. The professor's claim
to fame was playing 'Flight of the Bumblebee'. On a xylophone. In a
darkened auditorium during the Christmas assembly. With lighted mallets.
I don't know if you can even buy illuminated mallets or if it was
something he cobbled up himself.

Quantum theory warps your mind. I have a philosophical bent and that
really adds to the mix. 'Gödel, Escher, Bach' also warped my mind.

After softening your mind up on that you can move to the tetralemma.

No, I didn't need to read it to know that.
So you acknowledge that America's poor are among the most wealthy people on
the planet.. So tell me again why we need to give them even MORE money?
This is an easy fact to illustrate.

A person with $10,000 annual income would have more than 3.5 times the
global median.

If you made $31,133 a year, only 4% of the earth's population would be
richer than you. $150,000? 1%.

clownv has repeatedly demonstrated that it never has any idea of what it
is talking about.

Not once has it provided any evidence of technical knowledge. It made an
attempt at some point, but was completely erroneous in its statement.
Since then, it has done nothing in this newsgroup other than claim that
everyone is a liar and that any statement it disagrees with is a lie.

Also, even though it was never funny, it insists on constantly using
"fsck" in lieu of "fuck" to demonstrate its supposed wit. It might have
something to do with the fact that it has a "patch" where its "penis" is
supposed to be.

I was busy this past weekend, so I've lost track of just the who/what/where
on this particular thread ... my impression was that it had been commenting
about how there's more quits, which is indicative of improved worker influence
and/or power to switch between employers for improving salary/etc.

Of course, quits is also indicative of there being a growth in employers who
are offering better compensation (typically because of worker shortages),
so workers are quitting the crappy jobs to move to better jobs.

Now the claims I noticed about how people are lazy and prefer to sit at home
on the generous government doll are also out-of-date, because that supplement
ended in half the States by July (and all States over a month ago), and that
change hasn't had the impact which was promised. To whit:

"About half of U.S. states withdrew federal funds for the unemployed months
early to encourage out-of-work residents to find a job. But mounting evidence
shows that policy gambit hasn’t yet paid off.

Twenty-six states announced their intent to end federal pandemic-era benefits
starting in May. They officially pulled out in waves over June and July.

UKG, a payroll and time-management firm, found that shifts among hourly workers
in those states grew at about half the rate as states that continued the benefit — the
opposite trend of what one might expect."

<https://www.economist.com/finance-and-economics/2021/08/28/ending-pandemic-unemployment-aid-has-not-yielded-extra-jobs-yet>
<https://www.cnbc.com/2021/08/04/early-end-to-federal-unemployment-pay-in-26-states-not-getting-people-to-work.html>

Plus do be aware that since "quits" aren't eligible for unemployment, the whole
"on the dole" narrative doesn't apply.
Well, someone in poverty in the US is in the top 7% of the population
of the planet.
A metric which just goes to show just how many people live at (often: barely)
sustenance levels worldwide...

...even though this has an inherent downward bias in it from the aspect of barter
and other non-cash transactions not accounted for; if one buys $10 of seed and
grows $100 worth of food which one eats for yourself, the "economic activity"
reported was the $10 seed, not the $100 worth of crops you grew & ate. In some
regions, this methodology ignores ~half of their local GDP equivalent activity.

We have workers, but when we're paying them NOT to work.. why would they?
Of course, eventually the government gravy train will come to an end and
suddenly all the jobs will be filled by illegal aliens, and then they will

IT is what is making wages so ineffective?
No, it's more complex than that.
No, actually it's not. ALL the problems with wages can be summed up in two
words and one phrase. Inflation, taxation and government regulation. ALL of
which the government causes to increase.

Honestly, that's a good point. For my tastes, I've lost all hope for the
United States. To me, it was a corrupt shithole back in 2001 and it
still is today. There is a minuscule chance that they can vote out the
corruption one day but it won't be any time soon. As such, I no longer
follow or care what's going on there and decided to limit myself to
Canada. Trudeau here is a moron and the cause of the inflation that will
cause us all to be poor but whatever, the whole world is suffering.
