After an arduous workout, I watched:

Nothing.

What did you watch?

What did you watch?
Not much:

soaps - Basically pass - the only significant thing happened was on
DOOL, when Gwen did exactly as I predicted: accusing RedAbby of killing
her fetus/foetus by "pushing" Gwen down the stairs.

SEAL Team (recorded) - "Rearview Mirror" (ep. #4.12). Another one of
those "first half personal/family stuff, second half 'mission'"
episodes, though this one was directed by Max Thieriot (Clay).
Anyway, in the first half Jason Hayes learns from a former teammate
that he's only a good Bravo One "outside the wire", but a lousy one
when his charges are "off the field". Meanwhile, Ray continues to
struggle but is in denial. And Davis and Sonny are done again (though
Davis gets a job offer that would take her away from Bravo Team for
good).
This is all interrupted when Bravo has to pinch hit for one of the
other teams, and is unexpectedly sent to west Africa on an op against
Boko Haram, which includes their new officer who insists upon coming
along on the mission (Blackburn never did this!!). Their first mission
- a supply run to a village under siege, which is successful.
Next episode: Bravo has to fight off Boko Haram when they attack a
hospital!!

Recorded for later: Black Lightning, and Debris.
--
"Who would ever do this to him!?" - HottCiara on DOOL (04-27-2020), asking
who would stab Victor Kirakis... How about ANYONE WHO'S EVER MET HIM??!!

Debris was a real let down. Especially as I’ve been power watching
warehouse the 13th the series at the suggestion of the Peacock. We’ve been
ragging on debris as being a rip of the X-Files but it’s really more of a
substandard rip of warehouse the 13th or The Librarians.

I see it as more of a rip off of Fringe. It's about 60% Fringe and 40%
X-Files. I didn't make it past one, *maybe* two episodes of Warehouse,
so I can't speak to that. I thought last night's episode was OK. I
think it would have worked better if they ran both hours as a single block.

I watched:

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist - "Zoey's Extraordinary Double Date" - I
already forgot most of what happened. But I know Zoey went on a double
date with her ex and current boyfriend. And she's way too upset that
her ex is thinking about moving out of town. This episode was directed
by Mandy Moore. No, not the Mandy Moore you've heard of before, the
other Mandy Moore that you never heard of before.

Legends of Tomorrow - "Ground Control to Sara Lance" - Season 6 kicks
off with a standard meh episode which has the Legends searching for
Sarah. And just when you thought the show's continuity couldn't get
worse, they retconned Gary to make him even more ridiculous and
unbelievable.

Batwoman - "Initiate Self-Destruct" - I don't even know where to begin
with this mess of an episode. I guess it's not so much that the episode
was bad, it was just full of stuff I didn't like. Alice is still
hanging around even though she should have been dealt with long ago. So
in this episode they do sort of deal with her, but they do it in a way
that makes Batwoman look bad. Then there's Kate Kane. For *no* good
reason they brought her character back. Then on top of that, they are
going out of their way to ruin her character. But other than that, it
was an OK episode.

9-1-1 - "First Responders" - Team 9-1-1 spring into action after one of
their own is the victim of a targeted hit and run attack.

Black Lightning - "The Book of Reunification: Chapter One: Revelations"
- I watched half last night and finished it off this morning. This was
mostly the family dealing with not having powers anymore (more or less)
and Jefferson being jealous, because reasons. Painkiller is still
sticking around so they are obviously setting him up to face off against
the meta hunter. That should be fun.

Not that I recall. And no one else seemed to know either. But I
wouldn't rule out some random reveal last season that I forgot about.
Although if it was previously revealed, then it should have been in the
recap.

Warehouse the 13th is very good about including everything you might want
to know in the recap. The problem is half that stuff is spoilers. There is
no reason to remind the audience about HG Wells unless HG Wells is going to
pop up unexpectedly.

Unless they intend to write Davis out I expect them to keep up the
will they/won't they get back together issue for a while. They aren't
showing any attraction between Sonny and his baby mommy. Just good
friends and Sonny's feeling of obligation to his future kid.

As for Jason, it really shouldn't have been a surprise to him given
how he has learned that he has a hard time having a life outside of
Bravo. Given how he has always put Bravo and the life outside the wire
first it is little surprise that he has given little thought to the
life of his team mates outside of Bravo.

FRINGE is definitely where I see the most connections with DEBRIS with
the difference being the technology they are dealing with is alien
instead of man made as with FRINGE. As for the idea of making it a two
hour block instead of two one hours separated by a week, I think that
would have been for the best. As mentioned below I was really tired of
the alternate reality trips after just a few since there was almost no
difference between each trip. At least with the last trip in the first
episode we had one big change with an agent getting caught up in the
trips between realities.

Agreed

I didn’t like the whole “we are tired of this let’s wrap it up” feel of the
finale.

Hey this reality doesn’t have either of the boys.
But we need the boys let’s look for them.
Hey look here are the boys exactly where we always thought they were.
Luckily we just all remember the other realities this time.
We have to synchronize our watches even though we’re all diving in and
swimming in at different times and then waiting for the effect to go off.
What are they possibly synchronizing their watches to?
The final final had the kid just telling the agents all sorts of stuff that
he should know will land him in Gitmo.
How come the kids have been diving in and changing realities far longer
than the debris has been there?
Was the second to last Scully from a reality whete her father was dead? So
she wasn’t the real Scully at all?

has damaged vocal cords that can never be repaired. She has been
brainwashed and now thinks she she is the daughter of the leader of the
falseface society. I have *no* idea why they want Kate specifically.
It seems they'd have been better off keeping the real Kate to ransom her
back for a few million. And seeing as how they don't seem to know she's
Batwoman, she doesn't seem to have any other real value to them. They
could just as easily kidnapped any woman off the street and gave her the
brainwashing treatment.

Warehouse tracks down an artifact every week, each of which has a different
power, and they carry neutralizer goo to kill it’s effects.
I thought last night’s episode was OK. I
Post by Arthur Lipscomb
think it would have worked better if they ran both hours as a single block.
I know!
Post by anim8rfsk
What are they possibly synchronizing their watches to?
The final final had the kid just telling the agents all sorts of stuff that
he should know will land him in Gitmo.
He doesn't know they have a Gitmo. All of his interactions they've only
ever tried to be helpful.
He knows they tried to murder him and Mulder. And he and Mulder spend a
lot of quality time talking in alternate dimensions and watching what was
happening in the others.
Post by Arthur Lipscomb
Post by anim8rfsk
How come the kids have been diving in and changing realities far longer
than the debris has been there?
Every time they dive it resets time. But the starting point is always
after the debris already arrived.
But didn’t they say the debris had only landed a couple days ago but the
sister said it had been weeks?

Batwoman - "Initiate Self-Destruct" - I don't even know where to begin
with this mess of an episode. I guess it's not so much that the episode
was bad, it was just full of stuff I didn't like. Alice is still
hanging around even though she should have been dealt with long ago. So
in this episode they do sort of deal with her, but they do it in a way
that makes Batwoman look bad. Then there's Kate Kane. For *no* good
reason they brought her character back. Then on top of that, they are
going out of their way to ruin her character. But other than that, it
was an OK episode.
Did they re-cast or are they keeping her off screen and just talking about
her or what?
They recast *and* put her in a mask so you never see her face. She also
has damaged vocal cords that can never be repaired. She has been
brainwashed and now thinks she she is the daughter of the leader of the
falseface society. I have *no* idea why they want Kate specifically.

Lol
Thanks. Glad I’m not watching it.

Over the last few days I've watched my recordings of 'Superman & Lois'.
All thru "watching" the last two last night I kept asking myself, "Why
am I watching this?".

I couldn't come up with an answer.

In trying to one thing arose in my mind. This Superman is horrible. A
SuperDork. And that keeps getting reinforced with every "Cool costume!"
"Thanks, my mom made it for me." in every opening. Its making me cringe
every time now. This actor's portrayal of Clark Kent is a betrayal of
Reeve's portrayal. Christopher Reeve's Clark Kent was a bit of a doofus
but he wasn't a complete idiot and he did it with a wink and a smile to
the audience. (I'm pretty sure literally, didn't he break the fourth
wall a couple times with looks in the movies?) He made it a joke shared
with the audience and it was wonderful. This actor (and I'm not going
to bother looking up his name) plays Clark Kent in a ham-handed way as a
borderline autistic. And he lacks the gravitas for _Superman_.

When I finished the last one I noticed that it had been recorded more
than a month ago so I had a brief hope that it had been cancelled
quickly. But thinking I couldn't be that lucky I checked. Nope,
"delayed" for COVID-19.

Damn.

That was my big problem with him when he appeared on Stupidgirl, and with
Christopher Reeves to a smaller amount. I always hated the Silver Age Clark
Kent and preferred the George Reves and Man of Steel version of Clark Kent.

Gary's a lot like Mona, in that a little bit as comic relief was O.K.,
but a lot as a regular character borders on unpleasant.

John Constantine without his (not so) secret sorrow unravels the whole
premise of the character. What's supposed to drive him now? Is his
dead true love still dead? I can't even remember.

And I know it's pointless to pick historical nits with _Legends_, but
Spartacus was dead before the Colosseum was built.

Ugh. Jealous Jeff isn't a good look. Control issues again.

Painkiller is still sticking around so they are obviously setting him
up to face off against the meta hunter. That should be fun.
I'm willing to be convinced, but not actually looking forward to it.

Good catch. It would have been a clever bit of writing if one of the
characters called him out on that only to reveal he was an alien in
disguise.

What I didn't like is that they left what happened to the "debris"
dangling. If Bryan and Finola were smart, they would make sure they'd
never report that debris to Orbital HQ. And them covering it up would
be interesting. But they glossed all over that, which is
disappointing...

He did, but he stayed in the ops center (Bravo Actual) rather than kick
in the doors with them, which is how it should be done. This new guy has
a serious case of Captain Kirk syndrome.
