Gosh - I wonder who that could possibly be? It's not as though anyone
has resumed trolling the group with deliberately offensive posts,
surely? It's a complete mystery to me.

Which newsreader are you and the hounds using, MOPMOB? If it's
Thunderbird, right-click on the sender's name and email address in the
header, then Create Filter From... and select your preferred option.
The default is Delete message, which is probably what you want.

Min is posting through Google Groups so will probably require an add-on
to her browser. Googling "google groups killfiles" would be a start.

Or kill thread, though if on newstap, this is a repeat exercise every day
so the trolls wear out fingers and brain by insistence

I have (not many) people in my killfile on Newstap, and I don't have to
repeat it every day! Or wasn't that what you meant?

I'm on Gener8, I'm afraid, posting through Google. I'm sure I'll find a way to get rid of
the revolting troll...

Using Agent you right click on their message and get a menu which
includes killfile.

Gosh! That's something I didn't know before. I've always gone to the
Tools menu and worked my way over from there but your way is much
easier. Thank you.

In my ancient Agent there is a Filters sub-menu on the right-click and it's
in there.

You are right, of course. The ignorance I'm confessing is that of not
having realised there was a right-click menu and having always done
everything from the drop down menus above. Doh! And double-Doh!

Do you mean you don't use short-cut key-strokes or the little icons either?

The trouble with the drop-down menus, to my mind, is figuring out which one
to use to find what you are looking for, it's not always obvious to me. For
example, I've just checked and can't find the tip that the space bar will
both page down and move to next unread - there are various short-cut keys
for navigation but that one is not mentioned - I must have learned it here
in umra but maybe it's in the Help files.

You are crediting me with far too much consistency and organisation
here: I tend to use whichever way of doing something that I discovered
first and until now, right-click menus haven't been amongst them. I
use some of all those things but all of none of them.

I keep getting the occasional pop-up inviting me to buy the latest
Version of Agent (8?) but I'm afraid that they will have reorganised
the controls into a sensible, logical system and then I won't be able
to find any of them again.

If it's who I think you mean, he hasn't always posted under his present
name. He's changed it several times, although he's had his current
identity for quite a while.
