I remember a Disney comic book from long ago (featuring Donald Duck, IIRC)
in which, following Clement Clark Moore, Santa was tiny, maybe
six inches high, in "a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer."
He slipped down the chimney and, putting his thumb to his mouth,
blew himself up to standard human size. After doing his thing,
he went SHRIIIIINK (I forget the exact mechanism) and went up the
chimney aggain.

Disney put out great Christmas comics,such as the "Christmas
Parade" giants.

Now, was Nick an elf who became a bishop, or a human bishop who became
an elf? :)

He was certainly a human bishop while alive. He then became the
stuff of legends.
