The pandemic response of despots such as Modi and Bolsanaro. Both of
who are Trump fans of course.

I've scanned a half dozen obits for the good doctor, can't find a single mention of his age at passing. Any idea how old Dr Stephen Karanja, chairman of the Kenya Catholic Doctors Association was when he passed?

I, too, noticed the lack of mention. Looks about 50.

There's no sin in being wrong, only in being sure you're right ..and I
don't know which category he fit in. E.g., lots of science-y types have
touted hydroxyquinoline and ivermectin, so I wouldn't see his mentioning
them as irresponsible unless, say, by the strength of his recommendation
he embellished their results. Meanwhile, chances are that neither your

You're going to be waiting a long time. He's clearly anti-vax - and if
he'd gotten the vaccine, you'd ABSOLUTELY know by now.

He's not bashful, but he is dead wrong.

Yes, he's that. But he's got some whackadoo ideas.
I agree with him about 75% of the time.

But he's an anti vaxxer, which is really strange, since he appears to be
rational otherwise. His stance on vaccines would kill thousands, if not
tens of thousands.

Everybody's got their blind side.

See that pig? When you say you will not get ANY vaccine, that's the
context.

"ANY" is the context. Now stop the semantic bullshitting.

And as far as the vaccines to... we're over 240,000,000 shots and no
problems, and virtually no deaths from covid.

What do you mean, they're not a slam dunk? How much higher than
virtually 100% can you get?

Why do you think he misspoke? What leads to this conclusion?
Because it isn't anything he's ever said. Or any way he's ever acted.

So why do YOU think what he said isn't what he said?

You're making excuses... I know that based on absolutely no evidence
whatsoever. I just like to think it.

Sound familiar?

The quote, though legit, was in the context of flu-shots ...which,
for better or worse, my own family has never indulged.  Moreover,
as I've said, I didn't consider the Covid shot a slam dunk.  Otoh,
I can't imagine Maher, or any reasoning "anti-vaxxer", ignoring
that bat bite...
Nope, pig.  Are you pretending you can't read now?
Let me help...
"I would never get a swine flu vaccine, OR ANY VACCINE."
See that pig?   When you say you will not get ANY vaccine, that's
the context.
"ANY" is the context.  Now stop the semantic bullshitting.
By the way... in case you need it - 'any' is defined as referring to
"no matter how much or how many".
Yes. As I suggested, I think he misspoke, by sloppily over-generalizing.
I think that he distrusts vaccine *marketing*, and not so much the
medical advance itself. Again, e.g. ... when a rabies shot is called
for, I think only a drooling idiot or a religious devotee would forgo
it, and I think Maher is neither.

Damn!  Now we'll never see him on Bill Maher's show!
I continue watching for confirmation Maher's vaccinated...
I don't watch until I get confirmation he's human.
Really?  I think he's pretty authentic for a TV host.
Yes, he's that.  But he's got some whackadoo ideas.
I agree with him about 75% of the time.
But he's an anti vaxxer, which is really strange, since he
appears to be rational otherwise.  His stance on vaccines would
kill thousands, if not tens of thousands.
Everybody's got their blind side.
While I may grudgingly allow that he probably hasn't been
vaccinated for Covid, I think "anti-vaxxer" is an extreme label
...applicable, say, to someone who wouldn't rush to the ER after
being nibbled by a bat.
Grudgingly?  Here, pig... let's do a little thought exercise.
I'll give you a quote, and YOU tell ME if you think the person is
an anti-vaxxer, or not.
OK?  Let's begin!

disease into your arm?
I would never get a swine flu vaccine, OR ANY VACCINE."

Authenticity from the guy who changed from Independent to Democrat so he
could run for the party nomination - and promised to remain a democrat.

And then as soon as Hillary beat him, he switched back?
That guy has authenticity?

And then, he turned around and did the same thing 4 years later.

Well, *I* wouldn't call his general distrust of vaccines "shit", because
I'm inherently distrustful, too.  It is interesting that, as FPP points
out, he's said nothing about his own Covid-vaccination status.  From
that, I'm (now) guessing that he's been told -- even if only by mere
common sense -- to steer clear of having to choose between lying (about
his own status) or advocating "Covid-vaccine hesitancy".  I suppose we
could call that a *kind* of authenticity...
Of course he hasn't said anything about his vaccination status. You
don't come right out and tell people you're denying reality.

He wants to keep his audience, and keep his comedy tours - and he knows
what happens to people who spout nonsense.

He's already TOLD you he won't get ANY vaccine.  And it makes him
exactly what I said he is - an anti-vaxxer.
How do you know? (Well, everyone except you...)  Because saying you
won't take ANY vaccine isn't based on specific issues he has with
the covid vaccine.
He told you that.  He's against taking ANY vaccine. Any.  I'm not

Yes, I know what he said.  I just don't think he meant it ...nor
likely even meant to say it.
His thing is sunlight, healthy eating and vitamin D.  Not vaccines.
Yes, and I sympathize with where I think he's coming from.
You're deliberately being dense by claiming he doesn't know what he says.
He not an idiot... he's a zealot.
If I see his specific deprecation of vaccines for, say, rabies,
smallpox, or polio, then I'll begin to countenance that possibility.
Yeah, it's right there: "ANY vaccine".
Guess what "ANY" includes? ""Rabies, smallpox, and polio."

They're vaccines, no?

Damn!  Now we'll never see him on Bill Maher's show!
I continue watching for confirmation Maher's vaccinated...
I don't watch until I get confirmation he's human.
Really?  I think he's pretty authentic for a TV host.
Of course, I made a funny and you're humor challenged so it's a
match made in heaven.  I pretty much wrote him off when I found
it out he was a Bernie supporter.  That's political anathema to me.
Ironically, "authenticity" was something Maher liked about Bernie.
We're in agreement, that is ironic.  The most thing noteworthy
about Maher is that I think it's impossible to be ambivalent
about him. The funny stuff is really funny, and then he has
numerous opinions that are shit.
Well, *I* wouldn't call his general distrust of vaccines "shit",
because I'm inherently distrustful, too.  It is interesting that,
as FPP points out, he's said nothing about his own
Covid-vaccination status.  From that, I'm (now) guessing that he's
been told -- even if only by mere common sense -- to steer clear
of having to choose between lying (about his own status) or

For whatever reason, he doesn't trust *that* scientific consensus -- and
autism is a serious bummer. Likewise, he may not feel the threat posed
by Covid warrants even the remote dangers of a novel vaccine. But those
instances still leave me plenty of room to speculate that he wouldn't
hesitate to get vaccinated following a bat bite. And I do so speculate,
as he shows few other signs of being psychotic/suicidal.

No, we're not talking about "feelings" ...or at least I'm not. For me,
these sorts of questions reduce to a bookie's betting line, in this
instance: what are the chances a bat-ravaged Bill Maher would seek
immediate vaccination against rabies? As currently informed and with my
own money on the line, *I'd* put those odds well north of 90%.

and autism is a serious bummer.  Likewise, he may not feel the threat
posed by Covid warrants even the remote dangers of a novel vaccine.
But those instances still leave me plenty of room to speculate that
he wouldn't hesitate to get vaccinated following a bat bite.  And I
do so speculate, as he shows few other signs of being
psychotic/suicidal.
Yeah, I know you 'speculate'.  Which is another way of saying you're
lying to yourself because you feel like it.
Maher obviously KNOWS how deadly covid is.
He still promotes anti-vaxxers on his show.
Nothing you've said takes away from the facts.  You've reported your
feelings, which aren't in the least borne out by the FACTS.
Please... feel free to drink bleach if you"feel" like it will help you
with your problems.  (Note: they'll still find you dead in the morning,)
I quoted HIS OWN WORDS. More than once. You're being willfully
ignorant pig.

He said he'd never get ANY vaccine. He hosts anti-vaxxers. You've
shown exactly ZERO evidence that supports what you "think".

How simple does this get?

Damn!  Now we'll never see him on Bill Maher's show!
I continue watching for confirmation Maher's
vaccinated...
I don't watch until I get confirmation he's human.
Really?  I think he's pretty authentic for a TV host.
Of course, I made a funny and you're humor challenged
him off when I found it out he was a Bernie supporter.
That's political anathema to me.
Ironically, "authenticity" was something Maher liked
about Bernie.
We're in agreement, that is ironic.  The most thing
noteworthy about Maher is that I think it's impossible to
be ambivalent about him. The funny stuff is really funny,
and then he has numerous opinions that are shit.
Well, *I* wouldn't call his general distrust of vaccines
"shit", because I'm inherently distrustful, too.  It is
interesting that, as FPP points out, he's said nothing
about his own Covid-vaccination status.  From that, I'm
(now) guessing that he's been told -- even if only by mere
common sense -- to steer clear of having to choose between
lying (about his own status) or advocating "Covid-vaccine
hesitancy".  I suppose we could call that a *kind* of
authenticity...
He's already TOLD you he won't get ANY vaccine.  And it
makes him exactly what I said he is - an anti-vaxxer.
How do you know? (Well, everyone except you...)  Because
saying you won't take ANY vaccine isn't based on specific
issues he has with the covid vaccine.
He told you that.  He's against taking ANY vaccine. Any.
I'm not calling him an anti-vaxxer... HE IS.
Yes, I know what he said.  I just don't think he meant it
...nor likely even meant to say it.
His thing is sunlight, healthy eating and vitamin D.  Not vaccines.
Yes, and I sympathize with where I think he's coming from.
You're deliberately being dense by claiming he doesn't know
what he says.
He not an idiot... he's a zealot.
If I see his specific deprecation of vaccines for, say,
rabies, smallpox, or polio, then I'll begin to countenance
that possibility.
Yeah, it's right there:  "ANY vaccine".
Guess what "ANY" includes?  ""Rabies, smallpox, and polio."
They're vaccines, no?
Yes, exactly.  And I don't believe he's that crazy (though some are).
He told you what he thinks.  The fact that you don't think he
means it is your problem.  He has a decades long history of being
anti-vaccine, from the flu, to the swine flu to the thoroughly
discredited link to autism.
This is NOT in dispute.
Indeed, it's not.  The question is whether that extends to
vaccines that most people wouldn't think of when they declare
themselves 'anti-vax'.
See... you don't want to think he's an anti-vaxxer, so to you, he isn't.
We call that "willful ignorance".
It's no different from the idiot who died from drinking aquarium
cleaner because Trump told him to drink hydroxychloroquin.
Maher is not a cult worshiper, doing something because Trump said to.
It's no different pig.
Trumpists think a chemical will cure them of coronavirus with
absolutely no scientific evidence it does.
Maher thinks a vaccine will cause autism with absolutely no
scientific evidence it does.
How is that ANY different?
For whatever reason, he doesn't trust *that* scientific consensus --
and autism is a serious bummer.  Likewise, he may not feel the
threat posed by Covid warrants even the remote dangers of a novel

Fact: he said he wouldn't take any vaccine.

Possibility: he wouldn't.
Possibility: he would, but misspoke for effect.
Possibility: he would, but assumed "*optional* vaccine" was implied.
Possibility: he would, but wasn't thinking of rabies.
Possibility: he would, when faced with imminent death.

Not a comprehensive argument, just one man's simplicity...

Like I said... your 'theories' are based on nothing but wind.

Possibility: You refuse to admit the truth of the matter because you're

Oh... and one more fact: He hasn't just SAID he wouldn't get a vaccine
- there is zero evidence he's gotten one.

I couldn't WAIT to say the words "I got the vaccine!".
