sell me what looks like the same handheld circular saw. Very tempting,
but then I'd have to think of something to do with it.
I bought one of those for a specific task, several years ago. The shed
(proper tiled) roof had been leaking for a while and a lot of the floor
boards had rotted making it difficult to walk around while rescuing that
which was not beyond repair. The ability to set the depth of cut made it
the ideal tool as I could cut along the edge of timber (joist?) and remove
the rotten bits, creating a small step onto the intact wooden floor from
the concrete underneath.
Meanwhile I engaged a chap to fix the roof - sourcing matching pan-tiles
took a while. He was greatly impressed by the little chop-saw, especially
when he learned it cost just £25, and decided if good tools could be had
for that sort of price he would consider buying them and adding them
directly to the cost of a job, leaving them behind or giving them away
afterwards.
I've still got it, it still works and has come in handy now and then. I've
never got on well with hand saws and it's easier to make lengthy straight
cuts with it than with a jigsaw.
