There's been a lot of speculation that Gasly might be replaced as early
as the upcoming summer break. Admittedly he is up against an
outstandingly talented team mate but, even so, his performances have not
been exactly stella.

But who would RB replace him with? I've always been a fan of Kvyat but
he never quite seems to have been able to deliver (reminds me somehow of
Christian Klien). If anything I think Albon might be a better bet.

Who else? It is said that Alonso has approached RBR, but he is an
absolute no-no with Honda after his behaviour at McLaren. McLaren
themselves have wisely scotched any possible attempts to poach Norris. I
wonder how watertight George Russell's contract with Williams is?

On the whole I'm inclined to think that RBR will soldier on with Gasly
until the end of the season and hope that he improves. His main problem
seems to be a tendency to overdrive.

But I think RBR are more likely to be thinking about how they can move
forward in the championship rather than how to defend from those behind
them. So they need both drivers in high positions to get more points.

RB are there for the promotion. Two cars doing well gets a lot more air
time than just the one. They aren't just in it for prize money.

Certainly won't be poaching KUB.

Joe Saward seems to think it quite possible that Hulkenberg will end up
in that seat, but it would be quite out of character for the team and it
would be somewhat of an admission of failure by Marko to pull in
some-one from another team.

How's Sainz fixed for next year? He is still a RB driver I take it.

Scrap that. I see he is on a multi-year deal and is/will be out of
contract with RB.

You seem to have forgotten the fact that he has beaten his team mate
Ricciardo after Ricciardo had beaten Vettel.
RB has mentally broken Kvyat more then anything IMO.

Explain what behavior you are talking about?
His behavior to keep supporting Honda and keep talking positive
about Honda while everybody else -including Button - was openly
laughing at Honda.
Alonso was the very last one to give up that bunch of arrogant
pricks.

Helmut Marko.

From grandprix.com:

“It has even been rumoured that Red Bull could recruit Fernando Alonso,
with Marko saying the Spaniard actually approached the team at the end of
last year.

But Alonso's past attitude towards Honda soured that prospect, as Marko
told motorsport-total.com that the 37-year-old former McLaren-Honda driver
is an "absolute no-go" for the Japanese manufacturer.”

If true, that japanese attitude still remains pretty weird, after all
those years they wasted Alonso's talent thy own him big time and a
humble excuses and gratitude would be far more appropriate then there
childish misplaced arrogance.

Don't forget Edmund that most of the far east is going through Nouveau
Riche syndrome as they abandon the older generation's culture .
