An hour long episode. Possibly the start of more a week?

Some of the older cast members are back filming, too.

Good to know. I am finding you were sooooo right when you told me
ages ago that Geoff going to court wasn't as simple as that :-Ø

With the pandemic and stay home/isolate restrictions the line for
spousal abuse has nearly gone off the charts :-(

Would it ever be. No drama without trouble!

Not surprising really - being "locked in" with someome all the time with no
escape can get a bit much. I am lucky, we have a big enough house, a decent
garden, we had space to breathe. We had regular zoom chats with the kids and
grandkids, and we have great neighbours, with a whatsapp group for the Close I
live in for us all to chat.

I imagine a small flat and a stressed spouse wouldn't be good at all.

Glad to hear that. It hasn't been the same without Roy, Rita, Ken, Norris
and Audrey. Perhaps we'll also see the pub and the cafes return to dine-in.

Re the younger cast members, as we discussed recently. Last week Summer
Spellman was back; actress Matilda Freeman turned 16 on August 31, so she
was 15 at the time of taping. Asha and Aadi Alahan were back today; they
are supposedly 14 (born Jan 2006) but the actors are 18 and 19. We haven't
seen Harry McDermott (Max), who's 14œ. Max turns 14 on Sept 5.

I saw a suggestion we might see Liz again after all. Her abrupt departure was
due to filming stopping as Beverley Callard's contract ended but her plans
suffered a set back due to a botched hip op. So if I read it correctly the
contract has been extended while she recovers so as to give her a proper exit.

That's good, she should go out in a flourish :)

I saw Craig on last nights episode, he has done well on weight loss,
looking good.

Yeah, I do hope what I read is right, and that things work out so it can happen,
too.

Possibly lockdown was good for his weight, (if not for most people!) giving him
a good opportunity to get fit.

Liz/Bev already went out in a flourish on April 20, 2011.

She was also featured as an Icon last week, using some of the same clips.

Are we back to normal this week?

ITV's schedule shows two episodes (with a half hour separating them)
on Monday 7th and Wednesday 9th, and two back-to-back episodes on
Friday 11th.

That said, the Icon episode about Liz was supposed to be on Wednesday
the 9th, but I'm not seeing it on the schedule now.

Anyone know what is up?

The second Corrie show tonight is Famous Faces.
I see when I hover the cursor over the second one, it shows "Coronation
Street Compilations" for tonight, and "Coronation Street Icons" for
Wednesday.

It just shows "Coronation Street" for both episodes on Friday. Looking
at the listings on uksoapshare, it only shows one episode for each day
this week.

In my youth, Radio Times covered only BBC Radio (Home Service, Light and
Third Programmes) and BBC Television (one channel until the arrival of
BBC2 in 1964). My grandmother found it was the right size for tearing up
to use as toilet paper in the outside loo - she thought Izal was a
luxury. The separate TV Times magazine covered ITV from 1955.

Nowadays, radiotimes.com has listings for around 113 TV channels, many
of them on subscription, and 28 radio stations. (I just found a 1956
Goon Show episode on Radio 4Extra.) There's progress for you!

I downloaded a thing called Beast TV and now can usually find

a few years back so Beast at $15 per month is cheap!

The pace is picking up with Jeff now, I think of you saying that I
would have to wait to see him get his, way back when! We are just to
where he is fighting Alia over the Dahl.

Thankfully we are actually getting six episodes this week, two on
Friday so we wondered if that extra episode would be the clincher on
Jeff.

People do say they think 6 episodes too much, and they have enjoyed having
fewer, but I have felt the three was too little. Each was over before it began,
it felt. And it has been odd watching something 2 days later for us and 2
minutes for them - such as Monday's ending and how it resolves tonight.

What I do like is when they do the Friday episodes as one hour long one, maybe
because the other days I generally watched the first episode late enough that I
went straight into the second anyway.

It would mess up the tv schedules completely but 2 hour long episodes a week
would suit me quite well if they needed to cut back again.

It would mess up the tv schedules completely but 2 hour long episodes a week
would suit me quite well if they needed to cut back again.
I would like to get back to Mon-Friday schedule, just having a half
hour Mon-Wed meant it felt like too long a gap from Wed to the next
Monday!

AIUI it's supposed to be an hour long episode Friday. That's what the radio
times guide online shows, anyway.
Today I saw an article on what was coming up this week on ITV's site
and it mentioned that Friday would be an hour long.

Have you been getting only 2 episodes a week then? We have had 3.

I worded it badly, we get Mon.Tues.Wed, then nothing until the next
Monday night. Recently we have had the compilations on Thursdays
which was nice. Loved Battleaxes.

Ah, we get Monday, Wednesday, Friday, better spacing but still! The compilations
have come in some of the second slots on those days. I have been enjoying them too.

I would prefer it if ITV ran Corrie as the CBC does in Canada one
episode a day Monday through Thursday with back to back episodes on
Friday.
Otherwise if they are going to run 2 episodes a day M-W-F why can't
they run the episodes back to back instead of the half hour gap in
between?

We 'normally' only have one half hour episode per day Monday through
Friday. Early Sunday morning, the whole week is repeated. I know two
sets of viewers, Sunday addicts and weekday addicts :) I'm a weekday
one and am getting a bit leary CBC is maybe seeing how much reaction
it gets to the disturbance, hopefully a lot and it will make them
return to pre-covid times :) I could always stream the episode and
not have the ads, but old habits die hard ! They have been
displacing us currently for the fake NHL games in addition to covid
woes :(

I don't know how I could stand the long wait from Wednesday to the
following Monday. I gave up watching on the CBC a number of years
ago when we missed a bunch of episodes and I had to download to
watch them, then never went back.

I make them available on a web page going back to what the CBC aired
one week ago. Send me a private email for the URL - I don't put it on
this open group.

The files are named with the CBC and UK air dates, so the listing
can show which day it airs. It was strange enough naming the episode
files for the MWF dates in the UK and MTW dates on the CBC. It was
stranger having to remove old ones only in the first part of the week.
