You often ask this, Mike, on a Saturday morning! At (looks) some
unearthly hour: there have been times when I haven't gone to _bed_ yet
by then! I think UMRAts - even the retired (which I think is a large
part, nonne?) - tend to lie in on Saturdays.

I love Flanders and Swann - a bygone era just like all those stations.

Though I also have a fondness for the King's Singers' (1978 incarnation)
version,
(sadly no video) -
I think they captured the spirit and added their own flavour.

Yep, recovering from 2 weeks in a caravan with AGCs.

And now caught up with last week's epis. What awful dross. The stories
are just developing too fast rather than the slow evolution that was
part of the charm of TA. Linda a bit more convincing but so gloomy, as
were Adam and Alice's stories.
The only decent bit was the spoonbill fake news, but again all over in a
couple of epis and they seem to have confused EXIF data content with
Photoshopping unless the EXIF data records that has been done somehow...

I wonder why I am still listening...

Well, yes, why? I have ‘accidentally’ heard a few minutes here and there
(Mrs. McToodles is still Percy veering and listening) and when I have heard
snippets, it seems to be mainly carping - is there much other than this the
rest of the time I wonder.

...or connecting via Eternal September.

Thanks to a tip from uk.tech.broadcast, I have changed my ES
connection to SSL required and altered the port from 119 to 563 It
seems to be working.

Anyway. Before all that rigmarole, I had been planning to explain why
I was not going to nominate Japan for a special category BTN.

I do not know about you folks in the UK but here in Argentina - and
from scouring the worlds press, it looks like plenty of other places
too - the TV channels were broadcasting a live super-colossal Japanese
firework display in commemoration of the end of WWII, seventy-five
years ago.

Except they were not doing anything as tasteless and deserving of a
BTN as a live super-colossal firework display in commemoration of two
atomic bombs. The video was a fake. No BTN for Japan today. Sorry.

I told myself that next time it fell over, I would move to

I can only assume that the stated requirement: "Due to changes in
European tax law coming into force on 01.01.2015, we can only
offer our service to users which have their tax domicile in
Germany." is not actually implemented. ;-)

No, don't think the fake reached the BBC (or they weren't fooled,
anyway); it showed solemn and peaceful ceremonies. I haven't looked at
