Thats not happening in Nepal...anyway since you are apparently new and
lacking in imagination, here is the reason we are post the 'What the
GI's are reading' thread here on alt.war.vietnam ...
In the late 60's, early '70's, there were anti-war newspapers printed
across the United States and overseas. Most major military bases had
one, sometimes two, of what was referred to as the 'GI underground
press'. Some were printed on mimeograph machines, most where
photo-offset as was mine at Ft. Sill. They began as grumble sheets and
very rapidly evolved into organizing fulcrums for the G.I's who
printed them.
The Military Project is a worthy successor to those papers. The copy
is provided by active duty and discharged vets as well as others. Now
the real beauty of the military project's site is that any GI who has
access to a computer and a printer can self edit and publish his or
her own version. So when we say 'what the GI's are reading'... We
(VVAW/AI) will be providing copy as a local service project as they
are made available. It should be easy to screen out should you
choose, since it will be sent with the subject line 'What the GI's are
reading'.
Otherwise understand this...What you are reading, GI across the world
are reading the same. Leaving the copy around for others to read. It
might corrosive affect morale, you think?
