Discussion:
Fascinating article about the 9.9 percent.

Let's see ... wealth inequality ... the coming revolution and/or civil
war ... what we might do about it all ...

As members of the 9.9 percent it behooves us both to read it ... kensi,
too.

Way too verbose, as if the author was getting paid by the word. I did
manage to get about a third of the way through it. I make no apologies
if I barely manage to make it into the 9.9%. I've worked pretty damned
hard all my life, starting in my early teens, working weekends, summers
and whenever the opportunity presented itself. I still work a lot harder
today than anyone else I know my age.

I'll never be a .1 persenter, and I don't have an overwhelming urge to
even try. I consider that unobtainable and unnecessary at my age. I
live modestly, and have always been thrifty with what I do have. I
strongly resent the unbridled greed of the ultra rich when they use their
wealth and power to corrupt a system that was meant, in theory at least,
to be fair... oppressing the 90% (mostly), but they've already bought the
Government. How much money does anyone really need to be comfortable?
It's more like a game to them. Inequality exists in many ways. Some of
it is just the luck of the draw, some of it is poor decisions and an
inadequate work ethic by those same 90 percenters. Those who can least
afford it, get exploited the most (Payday loans, etc.)

I guess I never got to the crux of the article, and how the author
proposes to "fix" things. Knowing you, I'm guessing it's some form of
Socialism, but that's a very slippery slope. If it involves a
revolution, I doubt that many in the 9.9% group are down for that. We're
allowed to be kept comfortably numb. Anything that upsets the apple cart
is likely to make my life less comfortable, and I feel no guilt with my
current status. I'm certainly not what I would consider "wealthy" by any
means. If the shit does end up hitting the fan, I'll have no sympathy
for the greedy pigs at the top, but they already have the finest
protection money can buy. I don't know how such an endeavor would play
out, but civil wars tend to be very messy indeed.

Actually, if you'd bothered to read the whole thing you'd know that it's
saying that the 9.9% have to accept some reforms if they are to *avoid*
the much messier fate likely to result from revolution.

ranging all over the place instead of getting to the point. Time is
valuable, and I don't have that much that I'm willing to devote to this
article. "Concise" is the word I'm looking for.

So tell me why *I* should be willing to accept some "reforms" when I'M
not the source of the problem? Those in the elite group of the .1% are
the problem, yet *I* in the 9.9% who actually managed to tread water a
little better than the 90% have to accept "reforms" targeting ME?

Nope, I don't think so. What this sounds like, is the .1% who managed to
fuck the 90%, now want to fuck the 9.9%, rather than give up a single
greedy penny of their plunderings... amiright?

Because we 9.9% *are* somewhat part of the problem. Many of us, though not
the majority, vote Republican, and many more have shaped the Democratic
party in a neoliberal, centrist direction through our primary-voting
choices. (Though not me. I voted for Sanders in the 2016 primary.) The
9.9% have supported socially liberal policies but have been more than
happy to also support fiscally conservative ones. We get healthcare from
our employers and vote against primary candidates who support universal
healthcare, for instance. We've often neglected to oppose the Repugs'
attacks on unions and labor organization because our well-paying technical-
professional jobs and small business ownership don't benefit from unions,
and in the latter case might even have to pay our employees more if they
unionize.

This has to change, to reform or replace the Democratic Party and avert a
social-unrest disaster. And we have, as an income bracket, historically
been part of the problem.

guilt with my current status. I'm certainly not what I would
consider "wealthy" by any means. If the shit does end up hitting the
fan, I'll have no sympathy for the greedy pigs at the top, but they
already have the finest protection money can buy. I don't know how
such an endeavor would play out, but civil wars tend to be very messy
indeed.
Actually, if you'd bothered to read the whole thing you'd know that
it's saying that the 9.9% have to accept some reforms if they are to
*avoid* the much messier fate likely to result from revolution.
As I said, way too verbose, and the author does no one a service by free-
ranging all over the place instead of getting to the point. Time is
valuable, and I don't have that much that I'm willing to devote to this
And we have, as an income bracket, historically
been part of the problem.
y'all are spending way too much time ,
identifying the problems and none on mending them ,
everyone shouts , i know what it is ,
but that's as far as it goes there's no follow up ,
just on to the next thing , i know how to fix it ,
but there's no crew that fixes things anymore

Need more specific information before I decide whether it's worth
my time or not.
Let's see ... wealth inequality ... the coming revolution and/or
civil war ... what we might do about it all ...
As members of the 9.9 percent it behooves us both to read it ... kensi,
too.
Way too verbose, as if the author was getting paid by the word. I
did manage to get about a third of the way through it. I make no
apologies if I barely manage to make it into the 9.9%. I've worked
pretty damned hard all my life, starting in my early teens, working
weekends, summers and whenever the opportunity presented itself. I
still work a lot harder today than anyone else I know my age.
I'll never be a .1 persenter, and I don't have an overwhelming urge
to even try. I consider that unobtainable and unnecessary at my age.
I live modestly, and have always been thrifty with what I do have.
I strongly resent the unbridled greed of the ultra rich when they use
their wealth and power to corrupt a system that was meant, in theory
at least, to be fair... oppressing the 90% (mostly), but they've
already bought the Government. How much money does anyone really
need to be comfortable? It's more like a game to them. Inequality
exists in many ways. Some of it is just the luck of the draw, some
of it is poor decisions and an inadequate work ethic by those same 90
percenters. Those who can least afford it, get exploited the most
(Payday loans, etc.)
I guess I never got to the crux of the article, and how the author
proposes to "fix" things. Knowing you, I'm guessing it's some form
of Socialism, but that's a very slippery slope. If it involves a
revolution, I doubt that many in the 9.9% group are down for that.
We're allowed to be kept comfortably numb. Anything that upsets the

As a small business owner, I had to survive with no health insurance
because I couldn't afford it. I had Blue Cross one year, but the next
year they doubled the rates (Done by the .1% class), and I had to drop
out. I also had to pay self employment tax... twice what an employee has
to pay, but I had no choice, that's the law. Everyone is free to choose
the path I took. I didn't get rich, and worked probably a lot more hours
than a typical employee, and I took all the risks. I did manage to pay
off my house that way. I don't feel that any of the decisions I chose to
make were "part of a problem," they were just the path I chose to take,
and I accepted both the risks and the rewards. I'm not willing to solve
the problems created by the .1%, who directly contribute little to the
economy, and continue to take more from the people who actually work for
a living. Those are the people who need to step up and share the burden
of fixing the damage they've done to the 90%. I am NOT going to do that
for them at MY expense.

Point missed by a truly impressive distance, sort of like teeing off at
Palm Beach hole 7 and landing on the beach ... in Taiwan.

Yes, the .1% need to pay the money back to fix all this shit. And who's
going to make them? The lawmakers. And who's going to make *them*? Us. The
9.9% who have most of the clout in the opposition party and from whose
ranks that party's leadership tends to be drawn.

It's not your financial choices I was questioning. It's your voting
choices and your political activism (or lack thereof). And same for
everyone else in our income bracket.

.1% are the problem, yet *I* in the 9.9% who actually managed to
tread water a little better than the 90% have to accept "reforms"
targeting ME?
Because we 9.9% *are* somewhat part of the problem. Many of us, though
not the majority, vote Republican, and many more have shaped the
Democratic party in a neoliberal, centrist direction through our
primary-voting choices. (Though not me. I voted for Sanders in the 2016
primary.) The 9.9% have supported socially liberal policies but have
been more than happy to also support fiscally conservative ones. We get
healthcare from our employers and vote against primary candidates who
support universal healthcare, for instance. We've often neglected to
oppose the Repugs' attacks on unions and labor organization because our
well-paying technical-
professional jobs and small business ownership don't benefit from
unions, and in the latter case might even have to pay our employees
more if they unionize.
This has to change, to reform or replace the Democratic Party and avert
a social-unrest disaster. And we have, as an income bracket,
historically been part of the problem.
As a small business owner, I had to survive with no health insurance
because I couldn't afford it. I had Blue Cross one year, but the next
year they doubled the rates (Done by the .1% class), and I had to drop
out. I also had to pay self employment tax... twice what an employee
has to pay, but I had no choice, that's the law. Everyone is free to
choose the path I took. I didn't get rich, and worked probably a lot
more hours than a typical employee, and I took all the risks. I did
manage to pay off my house that way. I don't feel that any of the
decisions I chose to make were "part of a problem," they were just the
path I chose to take, and I accepted both the risks and the rewards.
I'm not willing to solve the problems created by the .1%, who directly
contribute little to the economy, and continue to take more from the
people who actually work for a living. Those are the people who need to
step up and share the burden of fixing the damage they've done to the
90%. I am NOT going to do that for them at MY expense.
And same for
everyone else in our income bracket.
well i'm above your income by quite a bit ,
but i'm not going to vote this time i don't think

Need more specific information before I decide whether it's
worth my time or not.
I've
worked pretty damned hard all my life, starting in my early teens,
working weekends, summers and whenever the opportunity presented
itself. I still work a lot harder today than anyone else I know
my age.
I'll never be a .1 persenter, and I don't have an overwhelming
urge to even try. I consider that unobtainable and unnecessary at
my age.
I live modestly, and have always been thrifty with what I do have.
I strongly resent the unbridled greed of the ultra rich when they
use their wealth and power to corrupt a system that was meant, in
theory at least, to be fair... oppressing the 90% (mostly), but
they've already bought the Government. How much money does anyone
really need to be comfortable? It's more like a game to them.
Inequality exists in many ways. Some of it is just the luck of
the draw, some of it is poor decisions and an inadequate work
ethic by those same 90 percenters. Those who can least afford it,
get exploited the most (Payday loans, etc.)
I guess I never got to the crux of the article, and how the author
proposes to "fix" things. Knowing you, I'm guessing it's some
form of Socialism, but that's a very slippery slope. If it
involves a revolution, I doubt that many in the 9.9% group are
down for that. We're allowed to be kept comfortably numb.
Anything that upsets the apple cart is likely to make my life less
comfortable, and I feel no guilt with my current status. I'm
certainly not what I would consider "wealthy" by any means. If
the shit does end up hitting the fan, I'll have no sympathy for
the greedy pigs at the top, but they already have the finest
protection money can buy. I don't know how such an endeavor would
play out, but civil wars tend to be very messy indeed.
Time is
valuable, and I don't have that much that I'm willing to devote to
this article. "Concise" is the word I'm looking for.
So tell me why *I* should be willing to accept some "reforms" when

roles. The only thing above that's accurate is "i don't think".

What you still don't get, is your vote and my vote don't mean shit. The
millions of dollars the .1% give to candidates on BOTH sides is what
means shit. Politicians talk about campaign reform, but seriously...
what candidate really wants to gnaw off the hand that feeds him? Trump
is the only candidate in my memory who maintains a degree of
independence, and follows his convictions (whether or not you agree with
them), rather than dancing to anyone else's tune. You will NOT find a
candidate to vote for that is really going to go against the machine (the
.1% again) who put them in office, and to whom they're always going to be
beholding. That's what I'm trying to tell you. If you want REAL change,
you'd better stick to your implied revolutionary fantasies, because this
system is clearly rigged.

I'M not the source of the problem? Those in the elite group of
the .1% are the problem, yet *I* in the 9.9% who actually managed
to tread water a little better than the 90% have to accept
"reforms" targeting ME?
Because we 9.9% *are* somewhat part of the problem. Many of us,
though not the majority, vote Republican, and many more have shaped
the Democratic party in a neoliberal, centrist direction through our
primary-voting choices. (Though not me. I voted for Sanders in the
2016 primary.) The 9.9% have supported socially liberal policies but
have been more than happy to also support fiscally conservative
ones. We get healthcare from our employers and vote against primary
candidates who support universal healthcare, for instance. We've
often neglected to oppose the Repugs' attacks on unions and labor
organization because our well-paying technical-
professional jobs and small business ownership don't benefit from
unions, and in the latter case might even have to pay our employees
more if they unionize.
This has to change, to reform or replace the Democratic Party and
avert a social-unrest disaster. And we have, as an income bracket,
historically been part of the problem.
As a small business owner, I had to survive with no health insurance
because I couldn't afford it. I had Blue Cross one year, but the
next year they doubled the rates (Done by the .1% class), and I had
to drop out. I also had to pay self employment tax... twice what an
employee has to pay, but I had no choice, that's the law. Everyone
is free to choose the path I took. I didn't get rich, and worked
probably a lot more hours than a typical employee, and I took all the
risks. I did manage to pay off my house that way. I don't feel that
any of the decisions I chose to make were "part of a problem," they
were just the path I chose to take, and I accepted both the risks and
the rewards. I'm not willing to solve the problems created by the
.1%, who directly contribute little to the economy, and continue to
take more from the people who actually work for a living. Those are
the people who need to step up and share the burden of fixing the
damage they've done to the 90%. I am NOT going to do that for them
at MY expense.
Us.
The 9.9% who have most of the clout in the opposition party and from
whose ranks that party's leadership tends to be drawn.
It's not your financial choices I was questioning. It's your voting
choices and your political activism (or lack thereof). And same for
everyone else in our income bracket.
You will NOT find a
candidate to vote for that is really going to go against the machine
(the .1% again) who put them in office, and to whom they're always going
to be beholding. That's what I'm trying to tell you. If you want REAL
change,
you'd better stick to your implied revolutionary fantasies, because this
system is clearly rigged.
And yet, a few more of us backing Sanders in the 2016 primaries and I
would be here now spanking you instead on one of your rants about how
terrible it was that the Sanders White House was raising your taxes a
smidge ... after the Sanders universal health care passed last year, mind
you, had made you no longer responsible for buying health insurance plans
for any and all full-time employees you might have as a small business
owner.

Oh, if only ...

Reread what I wrote about the collective clout the 9.9% has with the DNC
and with Dem primaries. And then reread it again. And keep doing so as
many times as necessary for it to sink in.

If the name was blotted out, you didn't really see a degree belonging to
him, and yet he makes the claim that you're some kind of witness to him
actually possessing a "degree". That remains unproven, just as I
suspected.

Need more specific information before I decide whether it's worth my
time or not.
Let's see ... wealth inequality ... the coming revolution and/or civil
war ... what we might do about it all ...
As members of the 9.9 percent it behooves us both to read it ... kensi,
too.
I'm not a member of the 9.9 percent. Am I? Surely not. Not on a
professor's salary.
Maybe an honorary member by virtue of having a higher education in a
technical field. Especially if you have a tenure-track position. Job
security is not very easy to find nowadays.
Certainly you're one of the "bicoastal smarty-pants elites" so loathed by
the Trumpies and their fellow-travelers.
and that's exactly what it is , a professed salary
Like your professed degree.
stop calling skeeter a liar
How would Skeeter, who lives thousands of miles from you, ever really
"see" your degree? Did you send him a Photoshopped picture that looked
like a degree? Nobody with a genuine college degree would sound as
stupid as you do, or misspell common words as often as you do. You don't
even have a high school degree.
take all the stuff i have ever said that you want proof of ,
come here and i'll show you the proof of all of it ,
if you don't come it will never be proved ,
saying anything more about it is a useless benefit that serves no purpose
So you sent a video to Skeeter of "A" degree with the name blotted out,
and now attempt to use that as "proof" that Skeeter has seen "your"
degree. This proves that you're just using Skeeter as a witness to
something you never proved in the first place. The only degree you could
earn would be one in bullshit. Liar, liar, liar! LOL! You just got
busted... again.
come and see the proof for yourself or you're the liar ,
you're also of no benefit to talk to and serve no purpoese

So you sent a video to Skeeter of "A" degree with the name
blotted out, and now attempt to use that as "proof" that
Skeeter has seen "your" degree.  This proves that you're just
using Skeeter as a witness to something you never proved in
the first place.  The only degree you could earn would be one
in bullshit.  Liar, liar, liar!  LOL!  You just got busted...
again.
I wonder if it was green and speckled. Skeeter?
its yellow paper with black print its hanging right above me and
, if you're a disbeliever too , you're welcome to come and see it
, if you don't it need not be proven , but its right above me and
the one from , the school for addiction studies is right under
it
and this one hangs under it

LOL!  According to Google Earth, that address is one side of what
appears to be a duplex house.
Free LULZ for everyone!
working out of a home office isn't all that uncommon in ontario
You see that a lot in New Jersey and Vermont too, with lawyers and
dentists, especially.
yep , the actual classrooms are at the university of toronto ,
i guess i better add a map of the university even if it is a fake place
https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=university+of+toronto+areial+map&qpvt=university+of+toronto+areial+map&FORM=IGRE
Just post a picture of your fake degree with your name blocked out...
that'll be real convincing of where you obtained your "intelligents".

Need more specific information before I decide whether it's
worth my time or not.
Let's see ... wealth inequality ... the coming revolution
and/or civil war ... what we might do about it all ...
As members of the 9.9 percent it behooves us both to read it
... kensi,
too.
I'm not a member of the 9.9 percent. Am I? Surely not. Not on a
professor's salary.
Maybe an honorary member by virtue of having a higher education
in a technical field. Especially if you have a tenure-track
position. Job security is not very easy to find nowadays.
Certainly you're one of the "bicoastal smarty-pants elites" so
loathed by the Trumpies and their fellow-travelers.
and that's exactly what it is , a professed salary
Like your professed degree.
stop calling skeeter a liar
How would Skeeter, who lives thousands of miles from you, ever really
"see" your degree? Did you send him a Photoshopped picture that
looked like a degree? Nobody with a genuine college degree would
sound as stupid as you do, or misspell common words as often as you
do. You don't even have a high school degree.
take all the stuff i have ever said that you want proof of ,
come here and i'll show you the proof of all of it ,
if you don't come it will never be proved ,
saying anything more about it is a useless benefit that serves no purpose
Whoa, % is getting melty again.
Post by Checkmate
So you sent a video to Skeeter of "A" degree with the name blotted out,
and now attempt to use that as "proof" that Skeeter has seen "your"
degree. This proves that you're just using Skeeter as a witness to
something you never proved in the first place. The only degree you
could earn would be one in bullshit. Liar, liar, liar! LOL! You just
got busted... again.
I wonder if it was green and speckled. Skeeter?
its yellow paper with black print its hanging right above me and ,
if you're a disbeliever too ,
you're welcome to come and see it ,
if you don't it need not be proven ,
but its right above me and the one from ,
the school for addiction studies is right under it
and this one hangs under it

LOL! According to Google Earth, that address is one side of what appears
to be a duplex house.
Free LULZ for everyone!
working out of a home office isn't all that uncommon in ontario
And all the big academics get their degrees right out of the living room.

Skeeter?
I wouldn't mind taking a gander at that "degree," seeing as how the name
is redacted anyway. It wouldn't prove anything, but it might be as
interesting as Fakey's Lotus pics.

stupid as you do, or misspell common words as often as you do. You don't
even have a high school degree.

i never legitimately graduated middle school, high school, or college.

no bat-mitzvah for me, either.

all i ever got was "confirmed" in third grade (appr.) at hebrew school, and began menstruating at age 13 my freshman year of high school, and thus, in a ceremony held in the living room with my nuclear family comprised of small glasses of grape juice (or wine, i forget, my parents were progressive) and pepperidge farms goldfish crackers, my mother announced that i had become a woman!

I'm not a member of the 9.9 percent. Am I? Surely not. Not on a
professor's salary.
Maybe an honorary member by virtue of having a higher education in a
technical field. Especially if you have a tenure-track position. Job
security is not very easy to find nowadays.
Hmm. Maybe.

Certainly you're one of the "bicoastal smarty-pants elites" so loathed by
the Trumpies and their fellow-travelers.
That much is true.
