Yes
If you consider ELO and Linda Ronstadt to be "modern acts."

To me pretty well any music act that had its peak of fame this side of
1970 is "modern day"

LOL

I decided not to bother with the special because I don't need to hear
Chuck's songs song by anyone else, modern or not, and no, I'm not
reopening the old argument about "Memphis" or Bruce'e favorite
"Promised Land."

Then you'll miss the presumably nice things said about him, things which you knew as a kid.

About half of the show is Chuck himself.

I hope you reconsider. I watched it last night and it was all I had hoped for, plus more. The only thing missing was "You Never Can Tell" (and "Promised Land"). They could have included the dancing scene from "Pulp Fiction" with this, but at least they had the good sense to include the clip of "You Can't Catch Me" from "Rock, Rock, Rock."

It's on today in NYC at 1:30 PM. I know that doesn't help you. But hopefully it is or will be scheduled in your area. Put aside your dislike of others doing song favorites you know from the originals (remember "Smokey Joe's Café"?) and enjoy it for the tribute it is.

It hasn't been on here. What I had decided not to watch was a streaming
version. I'm open to seeing it if it reappears locally, though I can
watch his iconic performance of "You Cant Catch Me" anytime, and I do
watch it often, since I have a clip of it on my computer. It is just
about perfect in every way.

I have ALL those 1950's rock & roll movies on video and DVD so I can
watch that "You Can't Catch Me" sequence at any moment I choose.

And yes,"iconic" is definitely THE word for that one!!
