Post by V***@SendSpamHere.ORGA number of great music names left us in 2016: David Bowie, Paul Kantner, Greg
Lake, Jerry Corbetta, Rob Wasserman, Dave Swarbrick, Keith Emerson and George
Martin to name a few.
There are many more. Interestingly, Signe Anderson, the first singer
with Jefferson Airplane, died on the same day as Paul Kantner.
In recent years, I often note that when I go to a concert, it might be
the last time I see the person in question. Sometimes that moves me to
see a musician I perhaps otherwise wouldn't have. Paul Kantner and
Edgar Froese (Tangerine Dream) dies just a few weeks after I had seen
them. I'm an optimist, though; I've got tickets for John Mayall. He's
83 or so now and probably holds the record for the oldest "rock"
musician to perform. (Yes, Papa John Creach was born in 1919 or
whatever, but when he played with Jefferson Starship in the 1970s, he
was only in his 50s.)
The Jefferson Starship concert recently was surprisingly good.
