I've been told many times that there are times in the publishing
business when an anthology of short stories will sell, and other
times when it won't, and that the market shifts from one state to
the other and back according to the whim of the gods or something.
So, first question: is there anyone here who is currently
selling/submitting/otherwise in touch with book editors and can tell
me, is this one of the times when anthologies of miscellaneous short
stories of the fantasy persuasion sell?
No, I thought not.
(I'm going to email my agent with the same question, but I expect
him to say, "No, it's not steam-engine time.)
So, I've just about finished re-keying all the short stories I
sold to Marion Zimmer Bradley's magazine and her themed
anthologies during the 1980s and 1990s, and I plan to put them on
my website with the rest of the stuff there.
So, second question: it's going to need some kind of title. Any
suggestions? (If nobody has any, I'll just call it "Stories" and
the heck with it.) Note that AFAIK nobody on this group will
have read any of them.
