The election is 83 1/4 days away (in my time zone) and I've finally decided who
to cast my vote for: Ralph Nader......

Here's why I come to that conclusion:

1. Pissed off at Little George...... sorry, bushy wushy, but it's way past
time you put your money where your mouth is..... what the hell is going on???
Sadr is now surrounded in a Mosque, we have the green light to snag him, and
the mother fucker is still alive??? Iran and Syria are trying their best to
"carve up" Iraq and we ain't doing shit about it??? Fuck this shit.....
what happened to the war against terror/fanatics??? We need to drop a MOAB
outside the citys of Tehran and Damascus (thus causing me to lose the Branden
Wolner Kaboomer poll of a year ago)...... we need to tell these a-holes to
lay off Iraq or it's Tomahawk time.... this bullshit waiting for the politcal
season to end before doing something is weak and hypocritical.... King George
does not get my vote.....

2. Kerry is a Fairy...... can't even throw a freaking baseball past home
plate.... simply said I don't believe him...... he says free healthcare and
schooling for all and won't raise taxes (cept for peeple making $200,000 or
more, cept he said he would cut taxes for small business owners, cept those are
the very same peeeps making $200,000 or more!!!)...... look, I have no
problem with this dude as Prez cept the gamble is we have a 4 to 8 year period
where the terrorists get to regroup, realign, rebuild, resupply, and
re-monetorize.... I can't accept this gamble..... the wheels have been set
in motion in the middle east for reform and we need hard hitting pressure, even
military if nessasary......... plus with a Repub Senate and House we will see
more fillabustering than ever in US history......... Kerry will be unable to
get any legislation through..

3. I always vote for a third party anyhoo..... I changed my registration from
Libertarian to Independent, thus Nader is a good choice..... I don't agree
with 70% of his policies, but at least he's honest in his convictions, unlike
Kerry or Bush........

4. I'll do it in honor of the extreme libs in this group who entertain me on a
daily basis..... It's the only way I can repay the enjoyment of reading the
conspiracy crazies that bring me so many laughs..... That keeps my record of
trying to get third parties more votes, yet I don't have to worry about Nader
actually winning...... (on a side note, the "freedom loving" Democrats have
squelched Nader being on the Arizona ballot, thus it has to be a write in
vote... wow, freedom reigns, ayyy???

Politicians will stretch the truth. They'll exaggerate their
accomplishments, paper over their gaffes. Spin has long been the lingua
franca of the political realm. But George W. Bush and his administration
have taken "normal" mendacity to a startling new level far beyond lies of
convenience. On top of the usual massaging of public perception, they
traffic in big lies, indulge in any number of symptomatic small lies, and,
ultimately, have come to embody dishonesty itself. They are a lie. And
people, finally, have started catching on.

A vote for Nader is a vote for Nader..... plus it's a vote towards and for
more political parties..... thus a vote against both the Repub and Demo
parties..... we need more choices...... this two party state needs a
reshuffle..... perfect example is what the Dems did here in AZ..... the
party of "every vote counts and freedom to vote your choice" filed a lawsuit
that effectively kept Nader off our ballot...... that's way too much power
and the Dems + Repubs share it...... Vote third party that's a real American
act that YOU can take..........

Actually for this election this is true..... though there are more political
parties, more independent voters 9/11 and the war on terror have polorized this

will erode their power bases and different parties will evolve into the power

How is that Bush campaign promise about "No Nation Building" going?

Bush said, "I'm worried about an opponent who uses nation-building and the
military in the same sentence. See, our view of the military is for our
military to be properly prepared to fight and win war and, therefore,
prevent war from happening in the first place."

After the removal of the Taliban in Afghanistan, Bush met with soldiers
stationed in Afghanistan at the White House and thanked them for their
nation building efforts. A senior administration official said, "The
administration, with its international partners, is doing something akin to
nation-building." The plans for a post war Iraq also included nation
building measures and, according to the Baltimore Sun, "Secretary of State
Colin L. Powell confirmed...that Bush was considering, among other options,
installing a U.S.-led occupation government if Hussein's regime is removed."
[Baltimore Sun, 10/19/02]

U.S. Will Seek U.N. Vote For War With Iraq
Bush: ...yes, we'll call for a vote.
Question: No matter what?
Bush: No matter what the whip count is, we're calling for the vote. We want
to see people stand up and say what their opinion is about Saddam Hussein
and the utility of the United Nations Security Council. And so, you bet.
It's time for people to show their cards, let the world know where they
stand when it comes to Saddam. [Bush News Conference, 3/6/03, emphasis
added]

Bush Attacked Iraq Without U.N. Vote
Bush "failed to win explicit [security] council approval for the use of
force" in Iraq. Two days before bombs began to fall in Iraq, the Bush
administration withdrew its resolution from the UN Security Council that
would have authorized military force. Bush abandoned his call for a vote
after it became clear that the US could muster only four votes in support of
force. [Washington Post, 3/21/03; Los Angeles Times, 3/18/03]

So why not write in someone you would actually vote for if they had
a chance to win instead of an extremist you would run from?
Does not address the question above. There is no valid principal I
can see in voting for someone you would not want in office, and then
calling it a vote 'for' nader.
I've addressed that issue..... I'm Independent and not a slave to
either the Demo or Repub party.....
The question had nothing to do with voting for either party.
viker is the most disingenuous asshole to ever hit this ng...
talking about flipflopping... he doesnt have enough pride to just

I can vote for Nader and when I
do it's a vote for taaadah: Nader........
Does not answer the question. You are saying you are voting more against the
party system not 'for' Nader. Would you vote for Nader if he was the
democractic candidate?
Again, why not write in a person you would vote for if they could win,
instead of one extremeist as far off your position as posible?
I've already answered this question twice..... I said I'm voting for Nader in
honor of the far lefties in this group.... they entertain me and it's my small
way of thanking them...... plus it keeps intact my track record of voting for
third party candidates.....

Can not say I am voting 'for' anyone. I am voting against Bush in a
battleground state.
Vote for Nader and close the deal.... he comes closest to your core
political views anyway.....
No he does not. If I did not live in a battleground state I might vote for
Kucinich as I did in the primary.
But voting against Bush and not wasting the vote is more important.
Voting for Nader is voting against Bush..... Voting for Bush is what you
really should avoid if you dislike him as much as you say..... battleground
state or not, you owe it to yourself and your country to vote your true
convictions...... Kucinch is pretty dern close to Nader politically.........

is now saying he would have gone into Iraq..... the dude flops more
than Floppy Divac.........
I perfer people who can change their minds to ones that wear blinders....=)
Ironic you say you prefer "people who can change their minds to ones that wear
blinders" yet right below you blast Bush for changing his mind about Nation
Building...... besides, I've yet to meet a far true blue left winger or right
winger than has ever changed their mind about any political subject...... so
I guess you don't "prefer" yourself...........

Politicians will stretch the truth. They'll exaggerate their
accomplishments, paper over their gaffes. Spin has long been the lingua

have taken "normal" mendacity to a startling new level far beyond lies of
convenience. On top of the usual massaging of public perception, they
traffic in big lies, indulge in any number of symptomatic small lies, and,
ultimately, have come to embody dishonesty itself. They are a lie. And

It's not that I don't care between them, I just said it won't make "that" much
of a change if Kerry gets elected (and if he is I'd wish him success in the

were forced to pick between W and K, K loses..... and voting for K would not
be for the asbnll liberals, since the majority of them are far closer to the

they may be misguided or dogmatic, but I believe
most of them are sincere about their political beliefs........
And just how many would vote for nader?
I'm not sure..... maybe we should run a poll in here.... we
already know you're not..........
Won't change much more than the main man's name..... Kerry will
have to battle a Repub Senate and Congress....
Since you do not care between them...vote for Kerry for all us asbnll
liberals. Dare ya...

It's not that I don't care between them, I just said it won't make

K loses.....
Seems to me you would like to balance the power without one party controling
congress and the white house. Since between talking about how independant

issue. Might want to be honest enough to yourself to admit you are right

I wouldn't think so. It would be better to have multiple choices
to get a finer resolution on which side of an issue you are on.
That would lead to less ambiguity in the final total.

I've already answered this but "maybe" I'm not clear enough..... No third
party has a chance to win...... the key is voting for other than the two main
parties..... it's more of a vote against the current cabal (as I've heard
many say their vote for Kerry is more of a vote against Bush than a true vote
of confidence in Kerry)...... Since no third party has any chance in hell of
winning, it doesn't matter which third party I pick...... later, when third
parties become more viable the choice of will be increasingly important.......
thus my tribute and gift to this newsgroup which has entertained me for oh so
long.......

shouldn't reflect poorly on the people of America.
After all, it's not like you actually elected him.

I don't expect you to understand..... liberals and conservatives
share the same confusion about moderates...... and name calling
is easy when the reality conflicts with their "truth".....
I have news for you right left, liberal conservitive is not name
calling in my book. You are pretty far right of moderate generally,
as I am pretty far left of the middle.
The "name calling" you do is generally milder than others in here
and no biggie (I can dish it out and take it), but it does
happen..... the name calling I refer to here is really just your
attitude that my vote is a "joke".....
And how is labeling your _vote_ 'name calling'?
Labeling it a "joke" is name calling...... tho as I said very mild
form of..........
It is not. In any way. You brought the vote up, and if we were supposed to
take your reason for the vote seriously, you have called yourself
something...=)
Post by Viker 44
Post by Viker 44
if you think so, fine...... but I've always
voted third party and I've always called for other voices and
choices......
been solidly consistent on those themes because
that's what I really believe........
For the umptenth time...I asked a question, It had nothing to do
with voting for the mainstream parties.
You said you will write in Nader, that is a joke from your given
reasons. A serious statement would to write in a name of a person
you want to be president, Does that describe nader? Do not trot past
your asbnll tribute again. I got it already and it is a joke....
Answer this...why not vote for someone you would want in the job?
I've already answered this but "maybe" I'm not clear enough..... No
third party has a chance to win...... the key is voting for other
than the two main parties..... it's more of a vote against the
current cabal (as I've heard many say their vote for Kerry is more of
a vote against Bush than a true vote of confidence in Kerry)......
When I suggested before it was a vote against the 2 parties, not a vote for
nader, you denied it.
Perfectly good reason, not the joke of doing so for asbnll.
Post by Viker 44
Since no third party has any chance in hell of winning, it doesn't
matter which third party I pick......
later, when third parties
become more viable the choice of will be increasingly
important....... thus my tribute and gift to this newsgroup which has
entertained me for oh so long.......
So you write in nader as a joke, because you would not truly vote for the
man...I see. =)

Again we Independents are ignored for what we represent.....
You are voting for someone that can not win, and that you would not
vote for if he might win.
That says a lot all right....
What does it say? I've already explained my POV of this vote and
You write how independents are ignored for what you represent, then
represent them by proudly voting for who you would absolutely not want
for president, an extremist you would never vote for if he might win.
Is there no eligible American you can write in that you would like to
see in the office?
A third party vote is a third party vote since none of them have any
chance of winning with the Dem/Repub cabal firmly in place.... As I
said the Nader vote is in honor of those toiling daily in here trying
to promote a doomed extreme left wing agenda..... it is a sincere
nod to them..... they may be misguided or dogmatic, but I believe
most of them are sincere about their political beliefs........
I thought Nader got booted off the ballot in 'Zona. But then, you're a
Bush-lover all the way, aren't you?

I've already addressed this issue on the first post of this thread:

---------------------------

And nope, there are plenty of things about Bush I do not "love"..... see,
unlike you I can think independently from the majority parties...........

The election is 83 1/4 days away (in my time zone) and I've finally decided who
to cast my vote for: Ralph Nader......

Vote Nader IN 2004!!!!!!!!!!!
Be TRUE to yourself!!!!!!!!!
Go for it. Somehow I still think its possible Nader will drop out before
the election. Shit. The guy is getting free money from Republicans to stay
in. Would you quit now?

His former Greens aren't supporting him so Perot's Reform Party has to do
it. Think about that. In case anybody forgot, Perot was the spoiler to
Bush 41. It's possible the people donating money to Nader really will vote
for him. How soon will the GOP panic when they start to see that Nader is
pulling votes from the Bush camp instead of Kerry.

viker44 you are sad
just come out and have the balls to say you are voting for Bush
He's anticipating the arguements that Nader is stealing votes from Kerry and
helping Bush, and now he'll be able to say "Hey, there are plenty of us that
voted for Bush, that are voting for Nader"

Then he'll go vote for his favorite boy pResident.

lol.... conspiracy theorists to the bitter end..... if I were voting for
Bush I would state so here..... there's no reason I shouldn't or wouldn't
state that here..... If it makes you happy, I'll easily state I prefer Bush
over Kerry, but always vote third party...... it's the only way we'll ever
break this power grip the Dems and Repubs have on this country... it'll take a
decade or so, but there will be viable third parties emerging..... in fact,
maybe after the 2008 election........

I never cast a Presidential vote for either the Dems or the Repubs..... I've
considered it but always choose a third party candidate.... If I were voting
for Bush I'd have ZERO problem stating that here....... but I ain't, so deal
with it........

I would not quit..... but fact is the Democrats have blocked him out of
several states..... he'll only appear on the ballot of a handful of states
and will have practically zero impact this time around...... as I told you
all several months ago...

He also just does not have much support this time. In Oregon, where he got a
good percentage last time, instead of a petition drive statewide he used the
option of getting 1000 people gathered to sign for him in one day and place.
He tried 2 times with about 500 to 700 showing up in Portland. The third try
he got over 1000 because the republicans called over 1000 bush supporters
and asked them to attend.

Could make a huge difference in a few close states, and it might only take
one.

States of flux

A poll last week had Kerry on 48%, Bush 43%, and Nader 3%. If Nader gets on
the ballots, and taking into account polls' margins of error, he can turn
several states, including:

Florida
Kerry 1% up on Bush
Nader 1.5%

Minnesota
Kerry 1% up on Bush
Nader 2%

New Hampshire
Kerry 4% up on Bush
Nader 4%

Pennsylvania
Kerry 5% up on Bush
Nader 5%

Nope...... this year's election is huge for both parties and extremely
polorized...... the economy will stay strong the next 4 years and both parties
want the credit for that..... also there is a great chance the war on terror
will take a huge swing for the better in the next 6 months to 2 1/2 years.....
whichever party holds the oval office will get credit for that as well......
this is huge..... huge Huger..... HUGEST................. I give a lot
of credit to the Dems for hitting hard to get voters signed up....... that
was huge of them........

John Zogby is a decent pollster even if a self admitted Democratic
pollster.....

this site keeps a pretty good count of ongoing state polls as well..... they
have your saviour Kerry up 307 to 231..... currently:
