This is getting weird. My votes are either identical to Frank's or the
complete opposite.

This time they're identical.

I'd like to give all 4 of these a 5th place finish but I got to rank 'em!

1- "Doctor Brown"

2- "Look What You've Done"

3-" Wobble Time"

4- "Chi Chi Meingue" If Trump would play this at his speeches, that wall would be done in a week, baby!!

The Youtube ad that came on before this song would play was from Tom Steyer for his "Need To
Impeach" campaign (just observing, not trying to start a poliical debate here).

I did hear that Her Maj has instructed the Band Of The Grenardier
Guards to play this tune in honour of The Donald when he arrives here
later today at Stansted Airport in Essex (not far from where I live)
on his State visit to London.

I'll be wearing my best top hat and tails to the State Banquet at
Buckingham Palace. Can't wait!!

Doctor Brown - Buster Brown - 8
One of his very best and a VERY serious omission from the 1960
Battle.

Incidentally on the Fire single the flipside is a so-so reading of
"Sincerely" from the pen of that master songwriter Alan Freed
Post by SavoyBG
Look What You've Done - Muddy Waters - 7
Released ca. July 1960 but actually recorded as long ago as 1957 (same
session as "Got My Mojo Working")
Post by SavoyBG
Wobble Time - Lester Young - 6
Legendary jazz saxophonist leaps in freshly back from the dead with
this so-so dancer on NYC's Chase label which was part-operated by
Danny Robinson (Bobby's bro).

Or maybe it was another guy of the same name? :)

Chi Chi Merengue - Eloise Trio - 2
Totally D-I-R-E!!

First release by the troupe that shortly afterwards came out with
"Zombie Jambouree".

I knew Chi-Chi Merengue was going to get drubbed, but my pick of it at first is an honest vote. I think it's the best of four weak entries. I wish the other three were matchups for my upcoming Doo-Wop nominations.

Is there no one here besides Carl who has a little rhythm in their soul?

I'm not a James Brown fan, but I do have a greatest hits CD and I Feel Good/ Papa's Got A Brand New Bag on my jukebox.

There are many participants in this group who did not submit their favorite James Brown recordings.

You can like what you want, but if you're not a James Brown fan, YOU have no rhythm!

JB's music, especially after 1964, as all about rhythm.

The Eloise Trio is out and the Lester Young will likely be out as 25 points is very low for a 3rd place item.

I have recently noticed a bird in my backyard who makes sounds like those in Chi-Chi Merengue.

Not really in love with any of these, and you have to wonder what
Billie Holiday would have thought had she heard what her greatest
collaborator had been reduced to just to earn a buck. Oh Lester, how

From some unknown "Wobble Time" is sort of okay.

I don't know who he was, but this wasn't his only record. The correct
billing is "Lester Young & His California Playboys."
