One that's been puzzling me for a while now - just how *do* you
pronounce "Erewash" ? Is it "Ear-wash", or "Error-wash" (as close as),
or something other that I haven't managed to conceive?

Thx.

Most people living around the Erewash area, pronounce it Errywash. (as
ferrywash with no f)

the locality, maybe its the Royston Vasey of canals!!? 'Are you local? This is
a local canal for local people!'

Yes, I live about a mile from the Langley Mill basin, which is at the end of
the Erewash canal.

Are you trying to say there is no 'f' in Erewash?
Or don't you use that kind of language?
There used to be no f in fish in the Erewash, but this has been corrected
now ;o)
