When Trump Fought the Racists (was: When Donald Trump wins the US Presidential election in November...)

And so the cry went up.

“Trump is a racist!” was the mocking cry from an off-stage Larry
David when Trump recently hosted Saturday Night Live. The David bit
was designed to make fun not of Trump but Trump’s critics. In this
case a left-wing group calling itself deportracism.com which,
without the slightest sense of irony, put together a thoroughly
racist ad having children spewing obscenities as they proclaimed
their allegiance not to America and its ideals but rather to their
race. A chilling reminder of all those fresh-faced young Germans of
long ago pledging allegiance to their Aryan race.

All of this is already old news. But there is a much older “old
news” story about Trump that has now resurfaced — a story that
paints a highly accurate portrait of the real Donald Trump — the guy
who has no time for racism and anti-Semitism and stood up in public
to fight both.

The story, linked by a group calling itself Zionists for Trump, was
published in the Wall Street Journal — in 1997. It revolves around
Trump’s purchase and operation of the famous Mar-a-Largo estate,
built in the 1920s by Post Cereal heiress Marjorie Merriweather
Post. Trump had recently purchased the sprawling, seaside estate and
turned it into a club. This being located in upscale Palm Beach,
Florida, there were other prestigious clubs in the area, clubs that
catered to the old order of upper crust Palm Beach society. The
problem? Quietly, these other clubs had long barred Jews and African
Americans — which is to say they practiced a quiet but steely
racism.

The Zionists for Trump headline:

How Trump Fought Antisemitism and Racism in Palm Beach Two
Decades Ago

The WSJ story that is linked focuses on the battles Trump faced as a
new arrival to Palm Beach, including his new competition with the
social clubs of the old order. The story, which quotes Abe Foxman,
the longtime head of the Anti-Defamation League, says, in part, the
following:

Mr. Trump also has resorted to the courts to secure his
foothold here, and many residents wince at the attention
his legal battles with the town have drawn — to the town
in general, and to the admission practices at some of Palm
Beach’s older clubs in particular.

…The culture clash began to approach a climax last fall,
when Mr. Trump’s lawyer sent members of the town council
a copy of the film “Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,” a film
that deals with upper-class racism. Mr. Trump then
approached the town council about lifting the restrictions
that had been placed on the club. He also asked some council
members not to vote on the request because their membership
in other clubs created a conflict of interest.

Last December, after the council refused to lift the
restrictions, Mr. Trump filed a lawsuit in U.S. District
Court in Palm Beach, alleging that the town was
discriminating against Mar-a-Lago, in part because it is
open to Jews and African-Americans. The suit seeks $100
million in damages.

... Mr. Foxman seems pleased that Mr. Trump has elevated
the issue of discriminatory policies at social clubs. “He
put the light on Palm Beach,” Mr. Foxman says. “Not on the
beauty and the glitter, but on its seamier side of
discrimination. It has an impact.”

In recent weeks, Mr. Foxman says, the league has received
calls from Jewish residents telling of how Palm Beach clubs
are changing. Locals concur that in the past year,
organizations such as the Bath and Tennis Club have begun
to admit Jewish patrons. The Palm Beach Civic Association,
which for many years was believed to engage in
discriminatory behavior, this month named a Jewish resident
as its chief officer.

In other words? In other words, long before he was running for
president, there was Donald Trump battling racism and anti-Semitism
in Palm Beach society. Using every tool at his disposal.

The film he chose to send the Palm Beach town council was no
accident. Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner was released in 1967 and
starred film legends Spencer Tracy, Katharine Hepburn, and Sidney
Poitier. The Oscar-winning story revolved around a liberal, upper-
class older couple who are stunned and discomfited when their
daughter, played by Katharine Houghton, brings her new fiancé —
Poitier — home to dinner and an introduction to her white parents.
As liberals, her parents were staunch supporters of racial equality
and had raised their daughter accordingly. Yet suddenly, in comes
the very personal reality of equality when their daughter waltzes in
the door after a vacation with husband-to-be Poitier, a black
widower and doctor. Soul searching about just how devoted to
equality they really are ensues.

Thus it was no accident that Trump selected this movie to tweak the
members of both the Palm Beach town council and the larger white
society it represented. Trump understood exactly what the game was
and he would have none of it. In addition to sending a copy of the
movie, he launched his lawyers, who filed that $100 million lawsuit
“alleging that the town was discriminating against Mar-a-Lago, in
part because it is open to Jews and African-Americans.”

This is the same Donald Trump who employs hundreds of Hispanics in
the Trump Organization at its various properties across America and
around the globe.

Yet here comes the utterly predictable charge of racism from
deportracism.com

One has to ask the obvious. Who are the real racists here? The
Democratic Party, as we have noted in this space repeatedly, has a
long and disgraceful history of out and out racism. Right from the
beginning of its history, what became the American Left was on-
record supporting slavery, segregation, lynching and, as noted by
historians, used the Ku Klux Klan as the military arm of the party
to enforce its racism. It was Franklin Roosevelt who issued the
infamous Executive Order 9066 that rounded up Japanese-Americans —
which is to say legal American citizens — and sent them to
internment camps merely because of their race. When a Japanese-
American fought the internment in the Supreme Court in Korematsu v.
United States, six of FDR’s liberal court appointees upheld the
racist executive order. The opinion, in fact, was written by Justice
Hugo Black — who held a “golden passport,” a lifetime membership, in
the Ku Klux Klan.

In today’s world the Left demands racial quotas and supports illegal
immigration. What all of these things have in common is that they
are designed to divide Americans by race, to divide by skin color.
Which is precisely what Donald Trump stood up and fought against
when no one other than Palm Beach society was paying attention.

The harsh reality of the racism charge against Trump is not only
that it is bogus, utterly false from start to finish. The reality is
the charges of racism against Trump are coming from the one
political force in the country that has a long, deep, and immutable
history of racism. A racism that is no relic of a long ago past but
both current and visceral, used now as it has always been used — to
divide and judge by skin color for political profit.

The good news here that in Donald Trump someone — finally — is
standing up to fight back. Just as he fought back all those years
ago in Palm Beach when no one was looking.

If black Democrats--and white Democrats, for that matter--cannot
disagree respectfully with a conservative who happens to be black,
they have no moral authority when it comes to combating racism in
other manifestations.

Every racial group except Whites has an organized group supporting
their position and in almost every case vilifying all their opponents.
In most cases, such as the Black Caucus, AIPAC, and Hispanic Caucus in
our legislative branch, they attempt to enact laws favorable to their
groups. Many are very successful to the detriment of the rest of
society. We are not in the business of vilifying or demeaning any
other race or ethnic group, but we insist that the laws of America
allow us the same rights as everyone else. Whites will be a national
minority by 2030; we are already a minority in California, Texas,
Hawaii, and New Mexico. Therefore we unabashedly and unequivocally
support the interests of White Americans through the political party
provided by the American Third Position.

Blacks have the NAACP, Hispanics have La Raza, Jews have AIPAC,
SPLC and many others, A3P supports the White race. If you have
problems with that depart, if you don't like our positions, go away,
we will not try to force our ideas down anyone's throat.

What we stand for is America First... We are opposed to
institutionalized homosexuality as is the norm; we are opposed to
pre-emptive wars, we are opposed to feminism and its sick anti-men
concepts, we are opposed to gun control, we are opposed to a self
serving media that purposely tries to inflict its warped ideas on
society through propaganda. We solicit all red-blooded White American
men and women to our cause.

CINCINNATI, Ohio (CNN) – Donald Trump, in his first public comments on the
controversy, expressed no regrets Wednesday night for tweeting an image
widely criticized as anti-Semitic.

Instead, the presumptive Republican nominee unflinchingly defended the
tweet, saying his staff “shouldn’t have” deleted it and later tweeting a
picture of a Disney movie sticker book for “Frozen” that featured a six-
pointed star.

“Where is the outrage for this Disney book? Is this the ‘Star of David’
also? Dishonest media!” Trump tweeted Wednesday night.

Reached Wednesday night about Trump’s latest tweet, the national director of
the Anti-Defamation League Jonathan Greenblatt was baffled.

He said there was no comparison between the star on the “Frozen” book and “a
Jewish star superimposed on money talking about calling a candidate being
corrupt.”

“Just so we’re clear the image originated with a white supremacist — not
with Disney animators in Burbank,” Greenblatt said of Trump’s since-deleted
tweet.

At his rally, Trump repeatedly slammed the media — including CNN — for its
coverage of the controversy during a rally with thousands of supporters in
the battleground state of Ohio and accused the media of having “racist
tendencies.”

“Actually they’re racially profiling. They’re racially profiling. Not us.
Why do they bring this up?” Trump said. “These people are sick.”

Critics of Trump’s tweet pointed out that the graphic, which was critical of
presumptive Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton and featured a six-pointed
star on a bed of money with the words “most corrupt candidate ever” evoked
common anti-Semitic imagery.

The Anti-Defamation League, the leading group in the U.S. combating anti-
Semitism and bigotry, slammed Trump’s use of the image and its national
director told CNN he had no doubt the imagery was anti-Semitic and said it
was “the classic trope of Jews and money.”

Trump said he was not at all mad at his social media director, Dan Scavino,
who posted the tweet. Trump pointed out that Scavino’s wife is Jewish.

Trump also doubled down on his comments about the former Iraqi dictator
Saddam Hussein, a human rights abuser whom Trump praised Tuesday night for
his efficient killing of terrorists.

“I don’t love Saddam Hussein. I hate Saddam Hussein. But he was damn good at
killing terrorists,” Trump said Wednesday.

Trump also praised former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who is being vetted
as a potential vice presidential pick and joined him at the rally.

“And I’m not saying anything, and I’m not telling you it’s Newt or anything.
But I can tell you, in one form or another, Newt Gingrich is going to be
involved with our government, that I can tell you,” Trump said. “He’s smart,
he’s tough, he gets it.”

Gingrich, who ran in for president in 2012, spoke before Trump, hammering
the Justice Department’s decision to not charge Clinton over her use of a
private email server while serving as secretary of state.

“I cannot imagine more vivid proof of corruption,” Gingrich said, pointing
in particular to former President Bill Clinton’s impromptu meeting with U.S.
Attorney General Loretta Lynch on an airport tarmac last week.

Trump repeatedly referenced Gingrich after taking over the podium.

“I’m not saying it’s Newt, but if it’s Newt, nobody is going to be beating
him in those debates,” Trump said.

The businessman also plugged the candidacy of a fellow Republican facing a
tough re-election fight, urging his supporters at the top of his speech and
in closing to “go out and vote for Rob Portman,” while slamming the Ohio
senator’s Democratic rival, former Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.

And in a strange moment, Trump at one point squashed a mosquito buzzing
around his podium.

“I don’t like mosquitos!” the billionaire real estate mogul shouted, before
adding, “OK, speaking of mosquitoes, hello Hillary, how are you doing?”

Ottawa mom, son plead guilty to incest
Witnessed by her daughter

OTTAWA - A judge handed a 53-year-old woman and her 35-year-old
son probation for incest Thursday after the pair admitted to a
sordid tryst, witnessed by her daughter and his sister at her
father's deathbed.

But the judge saved his comments for the woman, a scrawny figure
dressed in black with rust-coloured dyed hair who stood apart
from her son, a heavy-set man with a shaved head.

"I think your conduct speaks for itself, particularly as a
mother," Judge Paul Belanger said as he gave her two years
probation, twice as much as her son.

"I'm going to leave the opprobrium to your own conscience and
perhaps the wrath of others. Above and beyond what I might do,
the ostracism of members of your family and perhaps others in
society will be significant punishment for you."

Mother and son can't be named to protect the witness, the
woman's daughter and man's sister.

On May 14, 2010, she was visiting her dying father's apartment
along with her mother and brother. They'd been drinking.

She stepped onto a balcony to smoke and happened to look through
a window into a bedroom.

She saw her brother having sex with her mother, whose skirt was
hiked up around her waist.

Disgusted, she banged on the window. Her brother looked up with
an expression of shock and embarrassment.

Her mother — "totally detached from reality” — tried to convince
her daughter nothing had happened.

"I view (the son) as as much of a victim as a perpetrator,"
defence lawyer Robert Meagher said, arguing his client, who has
biopolar disorder, had a "horrific" upbringing including being
taken into care at 12 for abuse. He then suffered more abuse in
foster homes, court heard.

"Regardless of whether your children are 16, 26 or 36, they're
still your children and she should have known better," Meagher
said.

The pair was ordered to seek counselling for alcohol and
substance abuse and is forbidden from contacting each other or
the witness.

She's devastated at losing the brother she loved and any chance
of being close to her mom. Her dad never got his wish of dying
with the family he loved around him.

"It breaks my heart and it hurts more knowing my family will
never be the same," she said in a victim-impact statement. "I am
hoping that they will get the help they need. That is my wish
for them, to get the help they needed a long time ago."

DALLAS — The heavily armed sniper who gunned down police
officers in downtown Dallas, leaving five of them dead,
specifically set out to kill as many white officers as he could,
officials said Friday. He was a military veteran who had served
in Afghanistan, and he kept an arsenal in his home that included
bomb-making materials.

The gunman turned a demonstration against fatal police shootings
this week of black men in Minnesota and Louisiana from a
peaceful march focused on violence committed by officers into a
scene of chaos and bloodshed aimed against them.

The shooting was the kind of retaliatory violence that people
have feared through two years of protests around the country
against deaths in police custody, forcing yet another wrenching
shift in debates over race and criminal justice that had already
deeply divided the nation.

Jeh Johnson, the Homeland Security secretary, said in New York
that there was apparently just one sniper, though there were so
many gunshots and so many victims that officials at first
speculated about multiple shooters.

WARSAW — After a crushing week of attacks, protests and anger,
President Obama touched on the values that unite Americans
before diving headlong into the debate over guns, one of the
most divisive issues of his presidency.

The president, speaking on Saturday at the NATO summit here,
suggested that the licensed gun in the car of Philando Castile,
who was shot by police in Minnesota during a routine traffic
stop, had contributed to the tragedy there. Castile died as his
girlfriend live-streamed video of him bleeding to death while an
armed police officer stood a few feet away.

“We don’t know what happened, but we do know that there was a
gun in the car that apparently was licensed, but it caused in
some fashion those tragic events,” Obama said of Castile’s
shooting.

[The NRA’s internal revolt over Philando Castile]

Castile’s death and the killing of Alton Sterling by police in
Baton Rouge set off waves of protests across the United States
last week. At one of those marches in Dallas, a gunman killed
five police officers who were providing security at the march.

“This has been a tough week, first and foremost for the families
of those who have been killed, but also for the entire American
family,” Obama said at a news conference here.

Obama had been scheduled to return to Washington on Monday after
two days in Spain, but he decided to curtail his trip and come
back Sunday night after a meeting with that country’s interim
prime minister and a visit with U.S. military personnel. He is
expected to visit Dallas early next week.

Obama emphasized in his remarks to reporters that the United
States “is not as divided as some have suggested,” and he noted
that Americans of “all races and backgrounds” were outraged by
the attacks on police.

On the gun issue, he said the polarization in the country pitted
“a very intense minority” against the “majority of Americans who
actually think we could be doing better when it comes to gun
safety.”

The president described the prevalence of guns in some poor
neighborhoods as a contributing factor to the broader tensions
between police and the people they are supposed to protect. He
cited the deadly protest in Dallas on Thursday as an example.

Obama said some of the protesters in Dallas, a large city in a
state where people can openly carry weapons with a license, were
armed during the march.

They didn't shoot any niggers though, did they?

The niggers started shooting cops.

WARSAW, Poland — President Barack Obama on Friday tried to
channel Americans' horror and outrage over the targeted
shootings of police officers, decrying the fatal attack in
Dallas as "despicable" and declaring there was no justification
for the violence.

"I believe that I speak for every single American when I say
that we are horrified over these events, and that we stand
united with the people and the police department in Dallas,"
Obama said early Friday. He spoke just hours after gunfire
killed five officers and wounded seven others during protests
over fatal police shootings of black men in Minnesota and
Louisiana.

Obama noted the facts were still coming to light but "what we do
know is that there has been a vicious, calculated and despicable
attack on law enforcement."

The president's message was delivered at long distance as he
traveled overseas for talks with NATO and European Union leaders.

(CNN)A day after a terrorist mowed down dozens of people
celebrating Bastille Day in the coastal French city of Nice,
investigators dug into the life of the man they say was the
killer: A 31-year-old delivery driver and Nice resident who was
born in Tunisia.

Authorities said Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel drove a rented,
refrigerated truck weighing about 20 tons into crowds along a
roughly 2-kilometer stretch of Promenade des Anglais on Thursday
night, killing 84 people -- including 10 children and
adolescents -- and injuring 202 others.

A truck plowed into pedestrians during Bastille Day celebrations
in the popular French seaside city of Nice Thursday, leaving at
least 80 people dead in what the nation's president called
"obviously a terrorist attack."

The deadly toll, which included several children, came after the
truck slammed into revelers gathered on a promenade to watch
fireworks, French President Francois Hollande said in an address
Friday morning.

"Such a monstrosity," Hollande said. He pledged to step up
efforts to fight terror in Iraq and Syria, and extended a state
of emergency for three months.

"France is deeply saddened, but it is also very strong,"
Hollande said. "I can assure you we will always be stronger than
the fanatics who are trying to attack us."

The driver was killed by police, Hollande said. It is unknown if
there were accomplices, Hollande said. French media, citing a
police source, reported that ID papers belonging to a French-
Tunisian were found in the truck. A source told NBC News the
driver is believed to have been a French national of Tunisian
descent

The truck struck the crowd at around 10:40 p.m. local time (4:40
p.m. ET) shortly after a fireworks display, officials and
witnesses said.

Christian Estrosi, president of the Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur
region that includes Nice, told French media that the driver
also shot at people. A senior U.S. military official told NBC
News that guns and explosives were found in the truck.

Eyewitness Andrew Botros described the scene as a "white truck
literally racing through crowds of all ages."

At the time of Hollande's address, 77 people were confirmed
dead. A short time later, the French interior minister said the
death toll had risen to 80, and 18 others were in critical
condition.

U.S. President Barack Obama earlier condemned what he called
"what appears to be a horrific terrorist attack" and said the
U.S. has offered any assistance France may need. "We stand in
solidarity and partnership with France, our oldest ally, as they
respond to and recover from this attack."

Witnesses described scenes of chaos after the truck hit the
crowd.

"I looked up and saw, like, a tsunami wave of people just
running towards me as fast as they possibly could screaming at
the top of their lungs," Dr. Kevin Motamedi, a Denver physician
on a tour of Europe, told NBC News. "And I just grabbed who I
was with and started running as fast as possible. It was
basically just complete mass hysteria."

"It was the scariest moment of my life, easily," Motamedi said.
"As we were running, you could tell the people in front of us
had no idea that anything was going on, so we were running and
grabbing people saying, 'Run. Go home!'"

Eric Dratell, an American lawyer working in London, is in Nice
on vacation with his wife. They were having dinner at Le
Sporting on the beach when his wife heard what she thought was
gunfire.

"We started running for cover. People started jumping from
promenade level onto the beach," Dratell told NBC News. "A guy
jumped on my wife," who was injured, he said.

"We took shelter with 200 or more people in an area under the
promenade. People were in crowded toilet stalls," Dratell said.
"This is shocking," he said.

In the immediate aftermath of the crash, Estrosi, who is also
Nice's former mayor, tweeted in French: "Dear Nicois, the driver
of a truck appears to have made a dozens of deaths. For the
moment, stay in your home. More info to come."

France has been on edge since a series of coordinated terror
attacks in Paris in November that left 130 people dead. The
terror group ISIS claimed responsibility for that attack.

There were no immediate claims of responsibility by ISIS through
its official or unofficial channels, according to Flashpoint
Intelligence, an international terrorism research organization.

Hollande said he will be calling up operational reserves to help
police, and the nation was placed at high alert. He said the
country's military campaign against the terror group ISIS in
Iraq and Syria would increase.

"Nothing will shake us and make us renounce the fight against
terrorism," Hollande said.

France's ambassador to the U.S., Gérard Araud, said on Twitter:
"Again. Sadness. These people only wanted to enjoy Bastille day
fireworks with their family and friends. Sadness."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said: "Canadians are
shocked by tonight's attack in Nice. Our sympathy is with the
victims, and our solidarity with the French people."

The United Nations Security Council "condemned in the strongest
terms the barbaric and cowardly terrorist attack which took
place in Nice," its members said in a statement.

Nice is a city on France's Mediterranean coast popular with
tourists. The U.S. State Department said it has no Thursday
evening it had no information that any Americans were killed or
injured.

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry encouraged any Americans in
Nice to contact friends and family. Facebook activated its
Safety Check feature, which allows people to alert loved ones
their whereabouts.

Bastille Day, also known as National Day, commemorates the
storming of the Bastille prison during the French revolution in
1789.

"On this Bastille Day, we are reminded of faggots and those poor
poor black murderers," Obama said.

What oppression?

Those fucking black punks weren't alive a hundred and fifty

Most of them never studied a word of history thanks to left-wing

All they have is democrat repeated propaganda that is mostly
lies anyway.

24-year-old blacks can't even tell you the year the Civil War
ended or who the first president was.

How do you spell black oppression? Free handouts, obama phone,
free needles, legalized dope, decriminalized crimes, welfare -
and that's not enough for these lazy good-for-nothing ignorant
savages who still think and act like they live in the jungles of

WebMD News from HealthDay

By EJ Mundell

HealthDay Reporter

THURSDAY, July 14, 2016 (HealthDay News) -- Antibiotic-resistant
cases of the sexually transmitted illness gonorrhea have more
than quadrupled in the United States.

This new data, from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, should serve as a warning that "the future of
current treatment options may be in jeopardy," the agency said
in a news release issued Thursday.

"The confluence of emerging drug resistance and very limited
alternative options for treatment creates a perfect storm for
future gonorrhea treatment failure in the U.S.," said Dr.
Jonathan Mermin, who directs the CDC's National Center for
HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and Tuberculosis Prevention.

"History shows us that bacteria will find a way to outlast the
antibiotics we're using to treat it," Mermin said. "We are
running just one step ahead in order to preserve the remaining
treatment option for as long as possible."

For now, the multidrug therapy that the CDC recommends for
gonorrhea "still works," the agency said, and there's not yet
been a U.S. case where treatment completely failed.

However, agency researchers report that the number of U.S. cases
of gonorrhea where strains showed "decreased susceptibility" to
a key antibiotic, azithromycin, jumped from 0.6 percent in 2013
to 2.5 percent a year later.

This suggests that azithromycin "will be next in the long line
of antibiotics to which gonorrhea bacteria have become resistant
-- a list that includes penicillin, tetracycline and
fluoroquinolones," the CDC said.

Patients sometimes receive azithromycin in combination with
another antibiotic, ceftriaxone.

"It is unclear how long the combination therapy of azithromycin
and ceftriaxone will be effective if the increases in resistance
persist," said Dr. Gail Bolan, director of the CDC's Division of
STD Prevention.

One way to slow antibiotic resistance is to curb the number of
new infections of gonorrhea affecting Americans, Mermin said.
The CDC noted that more than 800,000 cases of gonorrhea are
estimated to occur in the United States each year.

Because infection can often occur without symptoms, the CDC
estimates that less than half of all cases are ever diagnosed.
Gonorrhea seems to be especially on the rise among men, the
agency said.

Symptoms of gonorrhea include a burning sensation upon urination
or a green or whitish discharge. Left untreated, symptomatic or
asymptomatic gonorrhea can lead to serious health issues,
especially for women, because it is linked to chronic pelvic
pain, potentially fatal ectopic pregnancy and infertility, the
CDC said.

The study findings were published in the July 15 issue of the
CDC journal Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

President Barack Obama urged Americans rattled by a week of
violence and protests to find "open hearts" and new empathy
Tuesday in a speech that seesawed between honoring police
officers for their bravery and decrying racial prejudice that
can affect their work.

Obama spoke near five empty chairs for the police officers
killed last week by a black man seeking vengeance for police
killings. Behind him, underscoring his message of unity: Dallas
police officers, a racially diverse church choir and local
officials who ranged from black Police Chief David Brown to
former President George W. Bush, a Dallas resident.

Obama sought to reassure the nation that he understands the
impact of the unsettling events of the past week — including the
killing of two black men by police officers as well as the
Dallas attacks.

Disturbing videos of the events have "left us wounded and angry
and hurt," he said.

"It is as if the deepest fault lines of our democracy have
suddenly been exposed, perhaps even widened."

Undaunted, the president urged Americans to cast aside such
doubt and replace it with faith in the nation's institutions and
progress.

RELATED: Marc Morial: Raising Expectations for the Men and Women
in Blue

"Dallas, I'm here to say we must reject such despair. I'm here
to insist that we are not as divided as we seem. And I know that
because I know America. I know how far we've come against
impossible odds," he said.

The president spoke steps away from the chairs left empty for
the five men killed last Thursday while protecting hundreds of
people protesting the killings of black men in Louisiana and
Minnesota. The Army veteran killed by police after the Dallas
attack said he was motivated by revenge.

"The soul of our city was pierced," Mayor Mike Rawlings said, as
he welcomed the president and a line of public officials,
including Bush, who attended with his wife, Laura, Vice
President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, and Brown. The group on
stage capped the ceremony by holding hands and swaying to the
"Battle Hymn of the Republic" — a symbol in sight and song of
the service's unity theme.

"Too often we judge other groups by their worst examples, while
judging ourselves by our best intentions," Bush said. "And this
has strained our bonds of understanding and common purpose."

Bush and other speakers paid tribute to the fallen officers —
Brent Thompson, a 43-year-old newlywed; Patrick Zamarripa, 32, a
Navy veteran who served in Iraq; Michael Krol, 40, an athlete
and basketball lover; Michael Smith, 55, a former Army Ranger
and father of two; and Lorne Ahrens, whose wife is a police
detective.

No one expressed his appreciation for the men more memorably
than Brown, who has emerged as the steady and charismatic face
of the Dallas police. The chief spent part of his time reciting
Stevie Wonder's "I'll Be Loving You Always" to express his
affection for his officers.

For Obama, the moment was a chance to try to defuse what some
have described as a national powder keg of emotions over race,
justice, gun violence and policing. The president positioned
himself as both an ally of law enforcement and a sympathizer of
the Black Lives Matter movement.

It's a posture neither side has completely accepted.

Law enforcement officials have sharply criticized Obama and some
of his policies, including a decision to stem the flow of
military-grade equipment to local departments. One prominent
voice, William Johnson, executive director the National
Association of Police Organizations, accused Obama of waging a
"war on cops."

Some protesters, meanwhile, questioned why Obama rushed home
from Europe to attend the service in Dallas before meeting with
the communities grieving their dead in Minnesota and Louisiana.

In a gesture aimed at the answering that, as Obama flew to
Dallas he telephoned the families of Alton Sterling and Philando
Castile, the men killed in confrontations in Baton Rouge and
suburban St. Paul.

The White House said Obama worked late into the night on his
speech, consulting Scripture for inspiration. After the speech,
the president and Mrs. Obama spent more than an hour meeting
privately with the officers' families and many of those who were
wounded, the White House said. Vice President Joe Biden and his
wife, Jill, and the Bushes also participated in the meetings.

After years of delivering emotional pleas for peace at similar
memorials, Obama acknowledged his fatigue and the limits of his
words.

"I'm not naive," he said Tuesday. "I've seen how inadequate
words can be in bringing about lasting change. I've seen how
inadequate my own words have been."

When he has doubts, Obama said, he remembers a passage from
Ezekiel, in which the Lord promised to take "your heart of
stone, and give you a heart of flesh."

"With an open heart we can learn to stand in each other's shoes
and look at the world through each other's eyes," Obama said.
"So that maybe the police officer sees his own son in that
teenager with a hoodie, who's kind of goofing off but not
dangerous. And the teenager, maybe the teenager will see in the
police officer the same words, and values and authority of his

WARSAW — For nearly two years since the eruption of racial
unrest in Ferguson, Mo., President Obama has tried to strike a
careful balance between support for police officers and greater
scrutiny of the policing tactics used against members of
minority groups.

But with angry protests spreading across the country over viral
videos of police shootings of black men in Louisiana and
Minnesota, Obama chose this week to make a forceful statement
about the “serious problem” of racial bias among law enforcement.

“All Americans should be troubled by these shootings,” Obama
declared late Thursday, “because they are not isolated
incidents.” He praised officers for their service, but he also
cited statistics showing that blacks and Hispanics are arrested
and incarcerated at higher rates than whites. This, Obama said,
is “why emotions are so raw.”

Then, within hours, an African American former soldier fired on
officers in Dallas during what began as a peaceful protest march
over police brutality, killing five officers and injuring seven
others.

The first black woman ever crowned Miss Alabama has stoked
outrage after recording a tearful video in which she admits she
"can't help feeling like the shooter was a martyr" in response
to the murder of five Dallas cops.

Kalyn Chapman James, who held the title in 1993, posted the
controversial message to Facebook after church Sunday because
she was feeling "conflicted" about her inability to feel sad for
the officers after watching recent questionable shootings of two
black men by cops.

"I don't want to feel this way" James, who is now employed at a
Miami-area television station, said in the two-minute video. "I
don't feel sad for the officers who lost their lives.

"I know that's not really my heart. I value human life. And I
want to feel sad for them but I can't help but feeling like the
shooter was a martyr."

The Mobile native's video received immediate backlash as
commenters assailed her for her lack of empathy in the wake of
five tragic deaths.

"People are calling me stupid, ugly, saying beauty queens are
fed to apes in Africa, saying I am a poster child for
liberals...and more," James wrote in a Facebook post. "I'm not
even offended because they were saying this about black people
long before I made this video. It's mostly what I expect from
white people in my HOME state of alabama. But some who commented
here are my real friends and I thank you for being open to my
honest expression of grief, sadness, guilt and pain."

While James kept the video up, she has since clarified her
comments in statement to AL.com.

"My heart and my mind were conflicted because these are
difficult and very emotional times for so many people. I went to
church to address my feelings and deal with them from a
perspective of forgiveness and love. Especially forgiving myself
for feeling that way. I regret that any people lost their lives
this week and I am saddened by all of the shootings that
occurred, but this is about me."

She added: "When reading about the killings of those black men,
I was mortified by some of the comments about them. Many people
were not conflicted at all about those deaths. Some were okay
with this. These are raw wounds that are fresh and, while I
apologize if I offended anyone, I cannot help the way I feel as
I continue to process these events and deal with the flood of
emotions that come from witnessing such atrocities," she wrote.

James' employer, the South Florida PBS affiliate WPBT, has
suspended her despite her clarification.

"WPBT2 South Florida PBS does not condone the personal
statements made by one of its independent contractors regarding
the events in Dallas," the statement said in a statement posted
to Twitter.

The Miss Alabama organization has also issued a statement on the
matter.

"Kalyn Chapman James was Miss Alabama 23 years ago in 1993. The
opinions she expressed are her own, and do not represent the
viewpoint of the current Miss Alabama or the Miss Alabama
Organization. We have nothing but the utmost respect and
appreciation for the men and women of law enforcement, and would
never condone violence of any kind."

WASHINGTON — President Obama said on Wednesday that profound
tensions between the police and African-American communities
were likely to increase “for quite some time,” in the aftermath
of wrenching incidents this month, even as he said he was
hopeful that progress could be made in bridging the divide.

“Not only are there very real problems but there are still deep
divisions about how to solve these problems,” Mr. Obama said at
the White House after spending the afternoon meeting with law
enforcement and elected officials as well as civil rights
leaders and community activists from the Black Lives Matter
movement.

“There is no doubt that police departments still feel embattled
and unjustly accused, and there is no doubt that minority
communities, communities of color, still feel like it just takes
too long to do what’s right,” Mr. Obama added. “We have to, as a
country, sit down and just grind it out.”

During a session that lasted for more than four hours in a large
conference room and included about 40 in attendance, Mr. Obama
spoke about building trust between law enforcement and
communities of color. That trust, he said, will take time to
achieve.

“The pace of change is going to feel too fast for some and too
slow for others,” he said afterward. “And sadly, because this is
a huge country that is very diverse, and we have a lot of police
departments, I think it is fair to say that we will see more
tension between police and communities this month, next month,
next year, for quite some time.”

The hastily arranged meeting came a day after Mr. Obama traveled
to Dallas to memorialize five officers slain last week by an
African-American man who said he wanted to kill white people.
That attack unfolded during a peaceful protest of killings just
days earlier of two black men in Baton Rouge, La., and outside
St. Paul at the hands of the police. The shootings were captured
on videotape.

The deaths have opened the latest chapter in what has become an
increasingly passionate debate in America over racial justice,
discrimination and violence. Mr. Obama has conceded in recent
days that he has felt powerless to shift the conversation or the
realities driving it, whether by legislation or by rhetoric, a
cruel irony for the first African-American president who
campaigned for the White House arguing that there was no such
thing as “black America” and “white America.”

Returning early from a European trip on Sunday, Mr. Obama
scrapped his schedule for this week and has devoted much of his
time to addressing the crisis of race and law enforcement. On
Monday, he stopped by a meeting of police officials and civil
rights leaders convened by Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. on
the topic. On Thursday, he will attend a town hall meeting
devoted to the issue organized and aired by ABC, at which the
White House said Mr. Obama expected to hear from a diverse set
of voices.

“It’s a pretty effective way to model the kind of conversations
that the president believes should be happening all across the
country,” said Josh Earnest, the White House press secretary.

Mr. Obama held a similar series of meetings two years ago after
tensions boiled following a police shooting in Ferguson, Mo.,
that sparked protests and rioting. Those meetings prompted the
president to provide federal funding for community policing and
anti-bias efforts, including money for purchasing body-worn
cameras. He also created a policing task force that gave
recommendations last year on how to build trust between law
enforcement and the communities they protect.

The administration has since sought to educate police officials
around the country on how to carry the strategies identified by
the task force — the Dallas force is considered a national model
of the approach — but Mr. Obama’s aides often point out that
they cannot compel law enforcement authorities to do so.

The president is walking a difficult line as he seeks to make
progress on stubbornly entrenched divisions and build trust
among constituencies.

Some law enforcement officials have bristled at Mr. Obama’s
readiness to condemn racial bias in policing after fatal
confrontations between officers and African-American men. A line
of police officers seated behind him at the Dallas memorial
service on Tuesday did not applaud when he said protestors
should not be dismissed as troublemakers.

At the same time, racial justice activists, including those
involved in Black Lives Matter, have expressed frustration with
Mr. Obama for his expressions of sympathy with the police
serving in African-American communities ravaged by poverty and
violence. Some of them called on his administration on Wednesday
to eliminate federal grants for police forces that fail to make
changes to ensure they are not targeting African-Americans
unfairly.

“We must defund police departments that employ officers who are
quick to kill and condone practices that do not value black
life,” read a letter to Mr. Obama circulated on Wednesday by
Color of Change, a civil rights group. “Will you take action
before the next black person is unjustly murdered by police?”

An off-duty cop fatally shot a Black Lives Matter sympathizer
who broke into his home over the weekend, police say.

Tyler Gebhard was killed by the St. Louis County cop Saturday
after police say he threw a concrete planter through the
officer's back door in the culmination of an argument that began
on Facebook.

The cop, who the St. Louis County PD has not named, was at home
with his wife, mother-in-law and two kids when cops say Gebhard
broke in.

The two men reportedly knew each other through church and got
into an argument following the recent tensions surrounding
suspicious police-involved shootings of black men in Minnesota
and Louisiana as well as the sniper killings of five cops in
Dallas.

The suspect made a series of threats in prior days and hours
leading up to the incident. These threats were from the suspect
to the family as well as uninvolved members of the community.
The suspect arrived unannounced at the officer’s relative’s home.

According to a statement from police, Gebhard — who is biracial
— "made a series of threats in prior days and hours leading up
to the incident."

"These threats were from the suspect to the family as well as
uninvolved members of the community. The suspect arrived
unannounced at the officer’s relative’s home," the statement
reads.

Police say the officer's family barricaded themselves in a room
and called 911 while the officer gave Gebhard "a series of
verbal commands," which Gebhard ignored, according to the
officer.

Police say Gebhard advanced further into the home and "fearing
for his life and the lives of the others in the home, the off-
duty officer shot the suspect."

Gebhard was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The officer has been placed on paid leave as the incident is
investigated.

Gebhard's uncle told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that his nephew
went to the officer's house bent on a physical altercation but
was met with a gun.

"He walked over there and into a gunfight," the uncle, Patrick
Brogan said. "When he got there, he was met with a gun and the
guy killed him."

Brogan also said his nephew, once a celebrated high school
athlete, was in a years-long battle with bipolar disorder.

As President Barack Obama delivered remarks at the memorial
service for our fallen officers, I had hoped he would limit
himself to the two good themes he had visited upon learning of
the Dallas massacre: the singular evil of the shooter and the
need to appreciate the daily sacrifice of all police officers.

Actually, we needed only the second of those two. The memorial
service was not a place to wax at length about the twisted
figure who had caused our pain. George W. Bush struck the theme
perfectly, praising our police, comforting the families and our
community, and then wrapping it up.

President Obama, for his part, beautifully praised our fallen
heroes and struck inspiring themes of appreciation for police
that were precisely what was needed at the event. But then he
just could not restrain himself.

We got the "I've been to too many memorials" speech, an obvious
reference to the occasions when he has spoken following other
significant shootings, usually to chide the nation for not
buying his solution of erecting more gun-rights obstacles for
the law-abiding. He did not specifically berate us for Second
Amendment Advocacy as he has in the past, but when he said "I've
seen how a spirit of unity, born of tragedy, can gradually
dissipate, overtaken by the return to business as usual, by
inertia and old habits and expediency," I don't believe he was
lamenting an expected return to nonchalance about the hatreds
currently heaped on police.

I wondered how long it would take for him to defend the Black
Lives Matter corner of his core constituency that has come under
proper fire for its viciously broad slander of police culture.
Elapsed time was about fifteen minutes from praise for our
fallen officers to a further coddling of those who took to our
streets to malign their brothers and sisters in uniform. Aiming
straight at those of us who have suggested a civil perusal of
racial disparity is actually harmed by BLM's excesses, his
scolding was firm: "We cannot simply turn away and dismiss those
in peaceful protest as troublemakers or paranoid," he instructed.

Oh, yes, we can, when that's what they are. America fully
supports thoughtful, fact-based examinations of controversial
shootings, for evidence of malfeasance, racial or otherwise.
Black Lives Matter has no interest in such a constructive
exercise. They have reached their conclusions, and they will not
be swayed.

Yet the President's defense of them continued, before a crowd
gathered to mourn those lost to the BLM-inspired murder: "We
can't simply dismiss it as a symptom of political correctness or
reverse racism. To have your experience denied like that,
dismissed by those in authority, dismissed perhaps even by your
white friends and coworkers and fellow church members again and
again and again -- it hurts. Surely we can see that, all of us."

This is guilt-mongering of a particularly craven order, yet
another straw man from the president's inexhaustible collection.
What an insult to be told that objections to the hateful
rhetorical excesses of Black Lives Matter is somehow a sucker-
punch to our black friends. No one should be "hurt" by this
criticism except those partaking in the broad smearing of the
police profession.

As the president explored a list of his perceived societal ills,
it struck me that he is entitled to every point he made, but was
this the place? Did grieving families and friends need to endure
long paragraphs of analysis about his favored beliefs on race
and justice? Wasn't this an occasion best used to share words of
praise for those we lost and comfort for those left behind?

For a few minutes, the president did this, and eloquently. Once
finished, he should have stopped there, as his predecessor did.

President Obama is challenging Americans to have an honest and
open-hearted conversation about race and law enforcement. But
even as he sits down at the White House with police and civil
rights activists, Obama is mindful of the limits of that
approach.

"I've seen how inadequate words can be in bringing about lasting
change," the president said Tuesday at a memorial service for
five law officers killed last week in Dallas. "I've seen how
inadequate my own words have been."

The president has spoken often about the tensions between police
and minority communities — not just in the last week but also
after the deaths of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Freddie
Gray. What's striking is just how consistent Obama's message has
been. In each instance, he acknowledges the difficult and
dangerous work that police do. He calls attention to systemic
racial disparities in law enforcement and the resulting distrust
in some communities. And he offers context, arguing that
policing issues are a symptom of broader social challenges that
tend to get less attention.

These are words from a policymaker who has thought long and hard
about these issues, at least since his days as a state Senator
in Illinois, where Obama championed a law to document racial
profiling. They're also words from a man who could say, as
Dallas Police Chief David Brown did this week, "I've been black
a long time."

Recognizing Police

"Our police officers put their lives on the line for us every
single day," Obama said in the fall of 2014, after a grand jury
declined to return a criminal indictment in the Ferguson, Mo.
death of Michael Brown. "They've got a tough job to do to
maintain public safety and hold accountable those who break the
law."

Less than two weeks later, a grand jury in New York declined to
bring charges against police in the death of Eric Garner. "Law
enforcement has an incredibly difficult job," Obama said at the
time. "Every man or women in uniform are putting their lives at
risk to protect us."

And when violence erupted in Baltimore in the spring of 2015,
following the death of Freddie Gray, who died after suffering a
spine injury while in police custody, Obama paused to
acknowledge the police officers who were injured in the rioting.
"It underscores that that's a tough job and we have to keep that
in mind," the president said.

Calling Out Racial Disparities In Law Enforcement

Even as he praises the vast majority of police as hard-working
and well-meaning, Obama has drawn attention to racial inequities
that contribute to friction with minority communities. "The law
too often feels as if it is being applied in discriminatory
fashion," the president said after Ferguson. "These are real
issues and we have to lift them up and not deny them or try to
tamp them down."

He repeated that message when the grand jury in New York issued
its Garner decision in December of 2014. "We are seeing too many
instances where people just do not have confidence that folks
are being treated fairly," Obama said. "In some cases, those may
be misperceptions. But in some cases, that's a reality."

Obama detailed that reality last week, citing research that
found African Americans are more likely to be stopped, searched,
and shot by police than whites are. "These are facts," Obama
said. "And when incidents like this occur, there's a big chunk
of our fellow citizenry that feels as if because of the color of
their skin, they are not being treated the same. And it hurts.
And that should trouble all of us."

It's Not Just About Police

While violence involving police often makes the headlines, Obama
argues that's merely the flash point of larger, long-simmering
problems. "Too often we're asking police to man the barricades
in communities that have been forgotten by all of us for way too
long," the president said last week, citing inadequate schools
and a lack of economic opportunity.

That point was echoed by Dallas Police Chief David Brown, who
complained law officers are expected to keep a lid on every
social problem from mental illness to stray dogs. "We're asking
cops to do too much in this country," Brown said. "Policing was
never meant to solve all those problems."

Obama made the same case more than a year ago, when asked about
the protests that greeted Freddie Gray's death in Baltimore. "We
can't just leave this to the police," Obama said.

"In communities where there are no fathers who can provide
guidance to young men; communities where there's no investment
and manufacturing has been stripped away; and drugs have flooded
the community and the drug industry ends up being the primary
employer for a whole lot of folks — in those environments, if we
think we're just going to send the police to do the dirty work
of containing the problems that arise there without as a nation
and as a society saying what can we do to change those
communities, to help lift up those communities and give those
kids opportunity, then we're not going to solve this problem,"
he said. "And we'll go through the same cycles of periodic
conflicts between the police and communities and the occasional
riots in the streets, and everybody will feign concern until it
goes away, and then we'll go about our business as usual."

This week, as the country is once again gripped by conflict
involving police, the president is urging Americans not to
retreat to their partisan bunkers, but instead to try to imagine
the hopes and fears of one another. At the Dallas memorial
service honoring five fallen law officers, Obama made a point to
acknowledge Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, the two black
men who died last week at the hands of police.

"If we cannot talk honestly and openly—not just in the comfort
of our own circles, but with those who look different than us or
bring a different perspective—then we will never break this
dangerous cycle," the president said. "In the end, it's not
about finding policies that work. It's about forging consensus
and fighting cynicism and finding the will to make change."

It's failing completely because businesses cut wages and hours
so it can't be sustained. Obama care insurance companies are
bailing and failing left and right.

You'd think a 'genius' like obama would see something like that
coming.

not.

Your mother was giving you a piece of ass and you two whores got
caught!
