Well, James, it depends on your definition of active. It's still here,
Freeserve keep serving its titbits to me, and I scan it once every day or
so. One of these days, something interesting will happen here. It used to be
extremely active a year or two ago, but I think everyone's moved on now.
Except me.

I'm sure I remember your name from somewhere else. Was it from
england.writing? 'Cos I go there too. Or maybe alt.creative.writing? I've
had a shufty, and only seen you've been where I haven't (demon.local, loads
of media sites, usage.english, et al).

Thanks for the response, Geraldo. The Demon news server is disgorging
now. I don't think I've ever graced alt.creative.writing with my awesome
presents. At the moment I seem to be major infection of BBC7 and the
bbc.co.uk\bbc7 website.

I used to post here quite a bit. However I have been so busy that I
have neglect to stay in touch.

Used to be a nice crowd - Gerald for instance and that mad geezer from
London(?) who posted all that fabulous nonsense about Poppies (a quite
fantastic public school).

Mind you I posted most of a novel here - Shock Treatment.

Have any of you entered that Book Competiton advertised on the BBC
Website?

he's wanking himself to death in a Crydon bedsit. Saw his play, t'was

The good doctor. Nice to see you are still around.

You may say it is dead, but this is how it was, back when we all
decided to start posting work here. Then that twit started all that
official nonsense about the charter (or what ever) and people departed
in droves.

As I mentioned before there was a competition for unpublished authors
- write 3 chapters of a novel and the winer gets a Agent for at least
a year.

Anyone interested in reading my entry? Also Shock Treatment is still
up at www.stuartd.demon.co.uk - I've had a few hundred people download
it and perhaps 30 odd comments as feedback.

What ever, it is nice to see some people back here.

Have a look at www.lulu.com (you too Robbie) for fairly
straightforward e-publishing. Might be worth a shot, i'm going to
shove my 1st novel up there once i've done the last editing (a matter
of days, hurrah!). The cost to you, the author, is nil, so may as
well...

Nice one, MD. My first is only 10k old, but due to be finished by t'end of
t'year, so our Lulu may be of interest (I liked the "at no cost to the
author" bit). Maybe it's something to "Shout" about? Perhaps my heart will
go "Boom Bang a Bang", and I'll be "Satisfied"?
