I'm puzzled by the question, as I can't see the word in any of the text
quoted! There's a beagle in Min's address ...
To half-answer the computer: I think I have seen it as a verb, meaning
something like amble/wander, or metaphorical equivalent: "just poodling
about, not doing anything in particular".
