BMX is the only bike for meth heads. The moment of inertia of 20" wheels allows for quick acceleration which is more important than high end speed in the alley. Low maintenance, no gears to snarl up it even works more or less with deflated tires, yet it's still faster than any cop on foot. It can be tossed over a high wall or fence for later retrieval.

One local who regularly disappears for six months at a time was actually riding one out in the desert which is rare. Usually the cops give up after driving around the block a few times.

You should have been there in 2003 -- +2C on even 1948.

Of course daily max temps is more relevant to cyclists than puny daily avgs.
