Hard to believe Bayern will not win the title now, but they might be
made to wait a week to celebrate. Still some tight races for European
places. And while the bottom 3 are set, any of the three teams could
theoretically still be saved through the relegation playoffs.

Bayer Leverkusen v Schalke 04

Schalke safe, Bayer have a chance to qualify for CL.

3-1

Borussia Dortmund v Fortuna Düsseldorf

BvB really need to win, but I don't think it will do them any good.

3-0

FC Augsburg v Hertha Berlin

1-2 in a meaningless game.

Hannover 96 v SC Freiburg

0-0

Nurnberg v Borussia Monchengladbach

Gladbach could still jump into the CL places, but will need help from
other teams. Nürnberg need to win their last two.

1-1

RB Leipzig v Bayern Munich

Red Bull or should I say Lawnball are safely in the CL for next year,
and will probably not offer a determined resistance, saving that for the
cup final.

1-2

TSG Hoffenheim v Werder Bremen

Hoffenheim with an outside chance at CL. Bremen still with a chance at
Europa league

3-2

VfB Stuttgart v VfL Wolfsburg

Stuttgart needs to match Nürnberg's result to be sure of a ticket to the
last chance saloon.

1-1

SUNDAY (unusually for second last round, presumably because Eintracht
played on THursday ?)

Frankfurt - Mainz

Local derby, Frankfurt need to recover from disappointment and win this
if they want to make the CL.

2-1

In the premier league the only open question requires Brighton to beat
the 59 points better Man City. So a good deal more at stake here.

The dreaded 4th place seems about the only thing to play for and from what I have seen, no one really wants 4th place anymore.

Good drama potential in 3. Liga today and next week. 4 relegation
spots - one has been taken by Aalen, but then we have *6* teams
between 39 and 42 points, with a further 2 teams on 44.

It's notoriusly difficult to get back from the Regionalligas, and some
of these teams risk being relegated to the same Regionalliga. Sonnenhof
Grossaspach and Aalen will both go to RL South-West and so will
compete for the same single promotion spot next season.

Jena and Cottbus are from North-East; a RL that next season will
*share* their promotion spot with RL West, where Fortuna Köln and
Lotte is headed. At most one of those 4 teams will be able to get back
up right away.

Promotion is not so exciting. Karlsruhe in second is 4 points ahead of
Wehen in third, who has a further 4 points on Halle in 4th. Both are
up against teams with nothing to play for.

1860 got out after one season.

Maybe I am thinking of last season, but I seem to recall Kaiserslautern at the bottom of the table earlier in the season?

Interesting game tomorrow in the 2nd div between HSV (who seem to want to stay in the 2nd div) and newly promoted Paderborn (who have been jumping around the top three divisions lately).

Hard to get excited over the last two weeks of 1st div. The Man is showing the Red Bull vs Bayern game live on tv here, but even a Red Bull win wont be enough to change Bayern winning...or no, BVB losing the title. As much as I would like to see Eintracht get the last UCL spot, I get the feeling they will be mediocre next year after selling their Yugos in the summer, so I would just as soon see the Pretenders move up to 4th-though they may lose a bunch of youngsters as well.

It is a shame the fake WWEpl sports entertainment industry is buying up all the good... err no, even mediocre players from the Bundesliga.

Might not even bother watching today, I wanna go out and look for a new cottage which does not get flooded every frickin second year. The problem is I did this two years ago when we had the worst ever, once in a 100 years flood (it was just as high or even higher this year, had a cottage neighbour call me yesterday to tell me he had rescued one of my boats that had floated onto the road) and we drove around for a week only to come to the conclusion that even with the flooding, we were better off where we were. Of course, we also thought that we would not get another flood for 100 years and by that time I would probably be a bit too old to enjoy fishing, swimming, boating and rocking out and blaring the Scorpions at midnight.

That's more like it. Second half just started and we have a flurry of

Dortmund - Düsseldorf 3-2

Augsburg - Hertha 3-4

Really? Drunkn Homer picks actually worked.

In the MOTD, newly promoted Paderborn leading newly demoted HSV 1-0 at the half, Union Berlin leading 2-0 at the half. HSV not even in the promotion play off at the moment.

Paderborn back in the Bundesliga, that takes me way back to 2014. I might add in those 5 years, since the 1st div demotion, Paderborn managed to get themselves down as low as the 3rd div. Still time for it all to change, HSV have the great JP Lassogga on the pitch. Or not if he gets subbed at the half.

Had VAR done nothing RB would have scored. When we had to win the match
was on the fairy tale play when Ribery passed to Robben for his winning
strike... but he put it into row Z.

Oh, and Gnabry hit the crossbar. Again. This time he should have
passed to his right for an easy tap-in.

So I get my Home Final for the first time since 1994 and 2000.
