I've been in pkgs.org looking for a Slackware 14.1 package of Clamav. I
find 'clamav-0.99.2-i486-1alien.tgz' which looks good to me, but when I
scout around, I don't see how to get that package downloaded into my
machine. A part of the page labelled 'Download' includes nothing that
seems useful to me.

I've a feeling I ought to know how to do this; and maybe I do and just
don't recognize it; but it's not obvious to me today. How do I get a
copy of that Slackware Clamav package out of pkg.org down into here?

I'm a Slacker for years past, now in a 14.1 not updated recently since
the update site seems to have been shut down.

On that pkgs.org page (https://slackware.pkgs.org/14.1/alienbob-i486/
clamav-0.99.2-i486-1alien.tgz.html), there is a section marked "Download".

In that "Download" section, there is an entry marked "Binary Package",
and beside it is a URL.
1) Copy that URL
2) open a command line prompt (xterm, whatever)
3) navigate to a directory in which you wish to save the ClamAV package
3) type the command "wget", and follow it with the url copied from the
webpage
ie: wget https://slackware.uk/people/alien/sbrepos/14.1/x86/clamav/
clamav-0.99.2-i486-1alien.tgz

4) hit enter and wait for wget to retrieve the package.

Update site? What update site? The various slackware mirror sites are
still active, as is slackware.com itself. Are you using something other
than pkgtools to update your slackware system? If so, then which tool?
Perhaps we can help get it "active" again.

For an alternate, always check slackbuilds (https://slackbuilds.org/) as well.

Searching for clamav for 14.1 turns up this:

https://slackbuilds.org/repository/14.1/system/clamav/

Which includes a direct, working, download link.

Yep, they made some changes, now you have to highlight the URL and right
click and choose open to get the download dialog.
