george, dude...you need to update this page !!!
(i wanted to sent it to my mother, but she wouldn't find this acceptable/persuasive)(or well, at least, she likes everything to be perfect/the best it can be.)
i'm not even alowed to drop a g, or say "yeah."
(ps if you do update it, please let me know! would love to show mom...i still could, but i'd have to extend some kind of apology first.)
I've actually never seen the page till now; I still haven't read it, though I've found the source ("Tropes wiki").

you mean this is the first you've seen of will's editing it? sorry, i don't know how this works at all...not sure i follow you...?
No problemo; I realize this is completely new to you. I'm the chief admin, and I can see everything that happens on the wiki, but only if I search for it. Normally I get to see only the last 4 articles that have been edited (usually all by me). When I see one I didn't edit, I'll go in and look at the change: usually it's vandalism, so I'll undo the change and block the reader. Sometimes it's one of my regulars, like R.K. Singh or Matt Little, working on their articles, so I leave them alone. But those come in only one at a time. When Will gets inspired to post, OTOH, he often starts as many as 10 articles (and I'll only see the last 4).
Post by r***@gmail.comin any case, since i just mentioned judy collins to my mother semi-recently, she may be interested in that, and i'm in no great big rush, so if you wouldn't mind emending the glitch...i'd be happy to wait, and then when you're done cooking this up, i'd be honored to deliver it over-easy to Mom. :-) (she's a merciless judge :-/// or at least, she used to be! she's trying to be nicer now.)
Thanks. I'll work on it this weekend. Right now I'm not sure what to do, though; it's mostly quotations from Collins, which I wouldn't mind keeping, but I might cut down - there's one really long 2-page one from her autobiography. OTOH, it fits in well where it is, between Collin's recording of Suzanne and Cohen's first album, so I'd like to keep it.
I'll post here when I think that's done, probably tomorrow.
Post by r***@gmail.comdidn't someone say you are a mensa? i'd love to toss that in the mix, if you wouldn't mind...
For sure. I once (just once) mentioned on aapc that I was an "M" (that's the term we use), and for years I've had people bring it up.
Yes, it's true. It's true; one year, when I was depressed (after losing three elections for the LP of Canada Board), I decided my self-esteem needed a jolt, so I sat Mensa Canada's annual IQ test, passed and got an invitation, and joined for a year to make my IQ a matter of public record. I did nothing in the group, and let my membership expire.
Years later, when I was Ontario LP leader, I got to speak to Mensa Toronto, and had the advantage that I got introduced as a "former member" - that's really all it ever got me, besides the ego boost.
Post by r***@gmail.comi've already shared your site with my former uncle, stephanie.
xo,
r.
Thanks for publicizing it. I work hard on the site, as a hobby, and I'm proud of what I've done on it.
I may as well extend you the offer: since you're an aapc poet (proven by the old Sunday Sampler), you're entitled to a page. I do not want to write one, but I'm extending the offer to you to do so.
