Please excuse the possible spamming, but I'm doing the energy supplier
dance at the moment, and Bulb are currently looking like my best option.
I gather there is a cashback advantage to signing up via referral link,
so may I ask if anyone would care to share please ?

I would be happy to; my email works minus the invalid, but it might be
someone else’s turn! If you sign up via my link (or anyone else’s), we both
get £50 off our bill.

I changed to them, thanks to Sally and Sid's suggestions. There was
one hiccup in giving final reading to Npower as blub and npower read
the meter in different ways. One takes the first 0 on the dial into
account and one does not. This makes a decimal point move higher for
one of them and makes a big reading, but finally I sent a photo of the
meter to both and we synchonised our..er..readings.

Npower then said it would take 6 weeks to get a final account! And
they'd not managed any bill since October. I complained and they gave
a final figure and promised to email it but I am still waiting for
that and have forgotten what it was. I do recall it was a refund due
but am waiting to see that in writing or in my bank a/c. :) Bulb were
very accessible and responded quickly to emails.

I gave up on Npower some years ago after the small print of my then tariff
was changed so as to be different from the headline promises, and they then
repeatedly messed up the billing. Like you I had to get the new supplier
to sort out refunds using the correct final reading, because Npower did
absolutely nothing about their errors. Never again with them ...

time that they were trying to convert me. I rang up and complained
about it.

We have been with Npower for 10-15 years or so; one day a couple of South
African high pressure salesmen called and begged a few minutes of our time
to prove ‘they could save us money’ on our fuel bills. They ‘guaranteed’
they could beat our present supplier’s price, not that they knew who we
used nor what we paid. They started laying out sales sheets, graphs and
things whilst gabbling about we should change to them for so many
reasons.... I told them we were busy and to send me their quotation for
consideration - never heard another word.

To be fair I now see the refund of £137 in my account and had an email
saying the account is now closed and that is the final reckoning. But
no details and I can no longer access the account to see the
calculations. I was going to reply asking for them but am fed up now.

I'm waiting to see what bulb calculate a month's gas is. Electricity,
which switched 6 weeks ago, seems in line with what we thought.

Make sure you've told your bank to block any further DDs. If they're
anything like my bank (First Direct, part of HSBC), they'll do it the
instant you tell them to.

DO NOT EVER, even if they are the only utility company left in the
universe, sign up with a company called Spark Energy.

I think they've finished the double cash offer unfortunately, it's only
50 quid now. Still not to be sniffed at of course. *sniffffff*

Every so often, I get a message from BG Hive inviting me to tell them what
I think of them; they explain they are using a market research company and
supply a link....
When I tap on the link, the website wants me to provide all sorts of
poisonal information! Really? When invited as an existing customer by BG, I
do not expect to help other companies obtain my details just to express my
opinion of their service!
