I have done some careful research into trolling in nz.general.
I have some expertise in this sort of thing having once been the
moderator of two Usenet groups over a 7 year period until 2017.
There are several folk who post here that can have strong views, some
will stick to those views however hard others argue otherwise. That is
not trolling by any definition I have ever heard of. No, that is
legitimate and open argument and a common human trait.
There is also some mild abuse (by Usenet standards it is pretty mild),
that on its own is also not trolling.
How-some-ever there are two persons who are inclined to bully and who
often join forces against those they both dislike. They seem to get some
satisfaction in doing that. They seem to deliberately take the
conversation down false trails in order to get the most pleasure from
their activities. They also abuse their audience at least as much as
anybody who posts here. That is most definitely trolling.
In my experience people who behave like that do so with full and gleeful
knowledge that they are doing all they can to annoy and even hurt folks.
I am unlikely to answer any responses to this but I think they know who
they are. One has a silly habit of using highfalutin language and the
other seems to hang on to the first persons coat tails (I was tempted to
write "tales", so appropriate on occasion).
OK then, for what it is worth, maybe all the rest could completely
ignore them, that is one of the few things that works with trolls.
On the other hand just ignore me.
