Can anyrat enlighten me as to the name of a recent TV (mini?) series
about a man who was released after a charge of killing his wife failed
to get a conviction and a team of police were assigned to reinvestigate
the case?

A pleasure, one of simpler memory lapses to deal with. I just wish
someone could help me identify the woman who greeted me so cheerfully at
an event last week and who I am sure I have never seen before in my life...
