Back in the 60's rumours abounded regarding a myriad of supposed
unreleased Sun and early RCA recordings by Elvis that have never
surfaced in reality

His take on "Uncle Pen" was always high on that list of recordings
languishing in the RCA vaults

airplay and publicity because of his death. So did the other side, "What Am
Living For," which I liked a lot better. I recall Dick Clark pushing bot
sides hard, so maybe he had a stake in it.

"Hang Up" is also 10 for me, "Living For" is a 7. Mark is certainly
right about Dick Clark pushing both sides. I remember that.

I also remember "Hang Up" as one of those "anthem" songs, like "Rock And
Roll Is Here To Stay" and "It Will Stand." Ha. If you had told me when
I was a child that some day there would be a rock & roll Hall Of Fame.......

Both one notch lower for me

"Hang" = 9 and "Living For" = 8

Always liked Jerry's version of the former ---not one of his greatest
but still a good 7. Sad to see it depart the current contest so early
