contained a passing reference to the fact that once free of the EU we'll
be able to develop and grow GM crops. Who will be the first in Ambridge
to take him up on that?

Sounds like this is one for Alice, they could utilise uniform growth, size,
nutrient requirements, even orientation of stems so that fruits could be
picked robotically. Vegetables would of course all be clones and thus
uniform size and weight would go along with maturation times - again for
ease of robotic harvesting.

Obviously not Bridge Farm; I think Brookfield would be somewhat
hesitant. Brian in the past would have leapt at it, but he doesn't
control things there any more, and I think of Ian as likely to incline
against it too.

Now, what would really stir things up would be if someone (Eddie? Ed?
Someone new?) concocted a scheme involving GM, but submitted to the
Peggytition - arguing that it is actually for the _benefit_ of
Ambridge's future ...

Adam has a history of environmental awareness abroad, doesn't he? And
was fighting brian over it and joining with Pip over it.

Perhaps Peggy's prize-money should be repurposed to pay for a hit on the
new PM to prevent this coming to pass.
Or would that be melodrama?

Someone who would not be suspected must make the hit. Someone whose
life is definitely over anyway. It has to be Joe, with the lumpen
hammer. Elderly farmer. Lifetimeof hardship. Bad lungs. Would he
want to? Who would be anti Boris in Ambridge?

I'll do it. And hang the consequences - come what may, do or die.

I have a three-point plan:
Boris out,
Unite the country,
Make Britain great again.

So, to all the nay-sayers and doom-mongers I say join me and embrace -
nay, kiss - my BUM.

I think Boris's Unholy Mess is more likely. We'll see.

Ooo, Sid for PM!
It would take a bit of work, but I could possibly print enough ballot
papers to get him a hefty majority in my polling station. I might get
arrested and never be allowed to work on an election ever again, but
I'd go with that!

Do we want to develop and grow such crops? We could not sell them to
the EU.

Do we want to develop and grow such crops?  We could not sell them to
the EU.
And I think it would also mean that we'd have great difficulty selling
the non-GM equivalents to the EU, because of the risk of GM foods
sneaking in as well.
