Sorry. Instead of beginning "Has is been" it should read "Has it been".

The eldest son (assuming there are sons) will be Duke of Sussex. The current crop of children of a royal duke did not get titles, but that's now. The RF doesn't give Princelings titles until they get married, these ones aren't born yet, Prince Charles is already 70, this is probably a decision that King William IV will make with his PM in roughly 2050.

If the Queen does not give them titles as she did with the children of the Duke of Cambridge, except Prince George who as the eldest son of the eldest son of the Prince of Wales already has royal title and style of Royal Highness, the Sussex children will have titles of a duke.

There have been no announcements made regarding them and
the 1917 Letters Patent remain the only guidance regarding
their titles.

This would mean they receive the titles accorded to children of
a Duke in the present reign and become HRH Prince/ss N of Sussex in
the prospective reign of their grandfather.

If such a reign ever occurs.
Is it agreed that should Charles die in present reign (and he is over 70), Henry´s children would go directly from grear-grandchildren of a ruler to nephews and nieces of a ruler, therefore never become grandchildren of a ruler, and therefore never become entitled to the titles of grandchildren of ruler?

That will be up to their uncle William. As sovereign he can change the rules.

But under current rules they would not get to be official Princes.

Compare what happened on the death of Frederick Prince of Wales in 1751. His younger son https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_William_Henry,_Duke_of_Gloucester_and_Edinburgh was never the son of a Sovereign and his children https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Princess_Sophia_of_Gloucester and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prince_William_Frederick,_Duke_of_Gloucester_and_Edinburgh were never the grandchildren of a Sovereign. William Frederick and Sophia were a Prince and Princess from birth as such great-grandchildren. They were granted the style of HRH in 1816 - see https://www.heraldica.org/topics/britain/prince_highness_docs.htm#1816_ and https://www.heraldica.org/topics/britain/prince_highness_docs.htm#1816_1

Why would anyone have bothered making such an agreement?
