Correct. Your "joke" referenced both Dr. Seuss' and Scroedinger's cats. But, apart from (unnecessarily) pointing out that both are fictional cats, it did so without any purpose.

A joke needs to find, and point out, something funny in the pairing.

Quantumously: A joke is considered to be both "dead" and "alive" (possessing the potential to be funny) until it has been told, at which point its status is determined.

The fact that Will had previously mentioned a cat does nothing to make your Seuss-Scroedinger reference funny.

You attempted to connect these cats by placing all three *in* various containers. However, as Will's cat was already *out* of its container, and Seuss' cat merely wears its hat, so their "in"-status could only be achieved through a complicated (in joke terms) series of puns ("in" = "within" vs "in" = "wearing") and the relativity of tenses (if the cat is currently *out* of the bag, it follows that said cat must have previously been *in* it).

But once the "connection" has been recognized, the "joke" still boils down to this:

Will: Apples.
Yogi: Peaches and Pears.

Comedy needs to be short and direct. Here's an example:

Rachel: Are you Corey?
Michael: Must be. Who else would quote "Green Eggs & Ham"?
Will: Yep, looks like the cat's out of the bag.
Yogi: Don't you mean out of the hat?

The above scene is mildly amusing in that it not only makes the obvious cat-connection pun, but that it allows the character, "Yogi," to tease his friends by intentionally dropping another clue.

Also, Yogi/Corey's line plays directly off of Michael's and Will's -- combining the two without bringing any new topic into the picture (like Scroedinger's cat).

A funnier variation would be as follows:

Rachel: Are you Corey?
Michael: Must be. Who else would quote "Green Eggs & Ham"?
Will: Yep, looks like the cat's out of the bag.
Yogi: Perhaps, but he'll be stuck in that damn hat till Kingdom Come.

In this example, Yogi/Corey not only continues the Dr. Seuss reference, thereby teasing his friends further, but he turns Will's cat into Seuss' cat *and makes a joke about the latter.*

Again, Yogi/Corey does not introduce a third cat, but plays off of the existing Seuss/cat references.

The basic rule of thumb to be followed is "Keep It Simple, Stupid" ("KISS" for short). Your Scroedinger "joke" is too convoluted, and plays like a mental game of connect-the-dots where the resulting image isn't worth the bother.

You are highly skilled at rhyming (both end rhyme and internal), but tend to waste it on convoluted jokes (generally complicated puns, bathroom humor, or complicated bathroom humor puns) that no one finds funny.

I didn't see anything about anyone either "wanting" you or not "wanting" you... just that your jokes are stale and you're the only one here laughing at them. That's a pretty common scene at the open mics and poetry readings, when the wannabe comedians get up and start telling their "jokes". People smile and nod, some even manage to force laughter but the fact remains... when you do a comedy act, you have to be /funny/.

People often laugh at jokes out of politeness. Or perhaps it's a "No Soap Radio," thing where people laugh so as not to seem stupid. Or maybe you've just got a funny-looking booger hanging out of your nose.

The above scene is mildly amusing in that it not only makes the obvious cat-connection pun, but that it allows the character, "Yogi," to tease his friends by intentionally dropping another clue.
Also, Yogi/Corey's line plays directly off of Michael's and Will's -- combining the two without bringing any new topic into the picture (like Scroedinger's cat).

Will: Yep, looks like the cat's out of the bag.
Yogi: Perhaps, but he'll be stuck in that damn hat till Kingdom Come.
In this example, Yogi/Corey not only continues the Dr. Seuss reference, thereby teasing his friends further, but he turns Will's cat into Seuss' cat *and makes a joke about the latter.*
Again, Yogi/Corey does not introduce a third cat, but plays off of the existing Seuss/cat references.
The basic rule of thumb to be followed is "Keep It Simple, Stupid" ("KISS" for short). Your Scroedinger "joke" is too convoluted, and plays like a mental game of connect-the-dots where the resulting image isn't worth the bother.

Just more of the same old attempt at mind games, really, and as usual, falling a bit flat near the end.

on the chorus, but the verses sound

to be reading the lyrics from a page,
which is okay if you're just learning the

You nailed it, Yogi... it was a tribute show for our friend Clyde Baker, who suddenly passed away from liver cancer. "Bang A Gong" was one of /his/ songs, songs that he was known for and his originals. Although I've loved T Rex for decades, I never have sang one of their songs, and though I know the song, I had never sang it before, or just a few run throughs before this show.

Alas, the verses are much more "tricky" than I knew, and I did need to cheat some.

After a couple more runs, we had the tune up to standard, but, of course, the tribute show had come and gone.

Oh, that's right! Easter! (what is that? not his birthday...when he went to heaven? i'm not sure)

anyway...so omg hi, did you color easter eggs, and have an easter egg hunt????

i did that one year with my friend delia from england. we met on an expedition in australia and then were pen pals for and then when i lived in sweden, she came over to visit me. we had SO MUCH FUN. we even spent a night on a ship at the docks in gamla stan. that was their youth hostel.

also, i always used to make my mom do it. like for my birthday she would hide hershey's mini chocolates assorted flavors all over the yard and house, and all my friends and i would look for them. we were all into it. i remember on year heidi p*chn*r (that's u and an e :-///) one of my two best friends, here parents did a scavenger hunt for her birthday, our sleep-over, and there were clues, and her present was a really cool sleeping bag.
