About six months ago I published the 78 rpm complete recordings of Marius-François Gaillard (1900-1973) with some later broadcasts. Gaillard gave three evenings in Paris of the then-complete piano works by Debussy, by memory, at age twenty. After publication a two minute excerpt from Hommage à Rameau was traced and uploaded on the Arbiter blog with a performance of Gaillard and his orchestra performing Mozart's Symphony #36 from 1941 Odeon discs.
Excerpts from an interview with Debussy by the writer Henry Lalherbe who later heard the cycle and wrote an extraordinary review.
Enjoy!
