Hereâs the challenge: can you fit all of the following terms into a single lede?
⢠Faction
⢠Lies
⢠Misinformation
⢠Conspiracy theories
⢠Online messaging
⢠Fueled by algorithms
⢠Extreme content
The Associated Press is up to that challenge.

AP:
A faction of local, county and state Republican officials is pushing lies, misinformation and conspiracy theories that echo those that helped inspire the violent U.S. Capitol siege, online messaging that is spreading quickly through GOP ranks fueled by algorithms that boost extreme content.
The Associated Press reviewed public and private social media accounts of nearly 1,000 federal, state, and local elected and appointed Republican officials nationwide, many of whom have voiced support for the Jan. 6 insurrection or demanded that the 2020 presidential election be overturned, sometimes in deleted posts or now-removed online forums.
âSham-peachment,â they say, and warn that âcorporate America helped rig the election.â They call former president Donald Trump a âsaviorâ who was robbed of a second term â despite no evidence â and President Joe Biden, a âthief.â âPatriots want answers,â they declare.
**********
That is true though.
Patriots do want answers.
**********
The bitter, combative rhetoric is helping the officials grow their constituencies on social media and gain outsized influence in their communities, city councils, county boards and state assemblies. And it exposes the GOPâs internal struggle over whether the party can include traditional conservative politicians, conspiracy theorists and militias as it builds its base for 2022.
**********
The answer is that no, you canât.
You cannot have a party where Liz Cheney is the leader, and calls 80% of the voters âdangerous white supremacist conspiracy theoristsâ and âdid another 911.â
The situation is ridiculous.
Weâve for a very long time had a situation where the politicians do not represent the population, but theyâve always pretended to. To have the leadership of a party openly come out and condemn 80% of the voters as being evil â this just simply does not make any sense, and people are not going to keep voting.
Even the dumbest normie is not going to go out and vote for Liz Cheney because âat least sheâs not Nancy Pelosi.â
Liz Cheney literally hates America and just wants to start a bunch of wars with Moslems.
Thatâs why sheâs denouncing her own voters â she wants to make sure there isnât any problem in helping out Joe Bidenâs people to fight these endless wars in the Middle East.
I donât know why the Cheney family is so obsessed with this. I guess âthey have deep connections to the arms manufacturersâ is the easy answer. But they almost seem to think they get some kind of satanic power through murder.
If you study these satanic cults, they all believe that they can get demonic energy that empowers them through causing death and pain.
Maybe we should look into that.
Iâll tell you, as a lifelong news reader, it is really nuts to see the way the Associated Press has gone full-on BuzzFeed.
