Police say couple crossed Auckland border to fly to holiday home in
Wanaka
Police have been made aware this weekend of an Auckland couple who
crossed the alert level 4 border with essential worker exemptions,
drove to Hamilton Airport, then flew to their holiday home in Wanaka.
This calculated and deliberate flouting of the alert level 4
restrictions is completely unacceptable and will be extremely
upsetting to all those who are working hard and making great
sacrifices in order to stamp out Covid in our community.
The couple a 26-year-old woman and 35-year-old man will be
prosecuted for breaching the current Health Order, by failing to
return to their place of residence within the Alert Level 4 area
after leaving for approved essential personal movement.
The couple will be issued with a summons to appear in court in
the coming week.

In the old days they would have been put in the stocks.
Maybe not the stocks now Gordon but maybe pilloried in the court of public
opinion; release their names as soon as it i legal to do so.
Maybe bring back the birch and horsewhipping?
Poor widdle Rich will have palpitations now :)
I just find it laughable that the two of you have purported in other
posts to support "Law n Order", yet here you are advocating by-passing
the legal process. There are a coulple of "dirty tricks" blogs that
may welcome you input however in an attempt to keep a far-right
feeding frenzy going . . .
Exactly who is advocating by-passing the legal process? Your post is so
incredibly vague you could be talking about yourself.
What? Not going to answer a simple question? Who were you referring to?
Oh dear. seems one of the imbeciles Rich is so staunchly defending is in
fact a lawyer! Wonder how this will affect his practice if in fact he is
allowed to continue practicing. After all New Zealand has enough Lawyers with
overwhelming belief in their own importance already!
Seems lawyers aren't essential workers after all according to the Law
society president Tiani Epati :)

That suppression order didn't last long. Now they've been named they can be
shamed. Regrettably there will be some out in the community who'll go a bit to
far in their commendation of the pair. But all in all it'll be self inflicted
wounds on two imbeciles!
The name suppression didn't last long:)

So it seems justice will be served after all Rich :)
I suspect that they won't get charged with anything.
Which would be a shame - we do not want to encourage those who believe
that the law looks after its own . . .
Which almost none of them do. Probably far less than Labour MPs do.
Why do you have to be so unpleasant? Is it a diagnosed illness or are you
simply nasty?
You manage to slur both the legal profession and Labour MPs - both
accusations without any evidence, in one short sentence! I did hear a
comment on radio this afternoon that employing an expensive lawyer may
have been a mistake as there will be a perception that a higher paid
lawyer may get results that a cheaper lawyer (which is all many New
Zealanders could afford) could obtain - and said that she agreed with
that perception! Perceptions do matter, which is why people in many
professions, including judges, will excuse themselves from judgements
on those who they are related to or have a relationship with.
Your unwarranted slur on the legal profession and on Labour MPs is
disgraceful on your part - to use your term it appears an egregious
slur and represents your tendency to be very unpleasant when there is
no need. I simppathised with your experience with your local Chemist;
but your attacks on others who would not have been invovled in that
private business not performing to your satisfaction does indicate a
severe failing on your part. You should apologise.
