In the following 6 years they have increased 60% - a record.

So... if that was a crisis what would you call +60% ?

And isn't strange the government never speaks of house prices now, despite never shutting up about it back then?

Housing was a crisis when John Key was elected - but you are correct
it still is, and Covid is not helping as we now have supply problems.
What do you think the government should be doing to fix it, JohnO?

It's very simple.

Cut immigration to the bone. No more refugees from third world
countries. None.

Get rid of the odious RMA and sack all council bureaucrats and clip
board carriers who are involed in the administration and enforcement
of it.

Doing these two things will help grreatly, and won't cost a penny.

They didn't disappear George. They never were and despite Sweden building 1,006,000 in nine years in the fifties and sixties apparently Richie's useless government knew it was an impossibility for his glorious imbeciles. Guess like many of it's promises it was just drug induced dreams and nothing to do with reality! :)

Housing was a crisis when John Key was elected - but you are correct
it still is, and Covid is not helping as we now have supply problems.

Housing has been a problem as far back as when Clark's Labour government was buying up houses like crazy Rich! Hell the problem probably goes back further than that!

Maybe they could get their heads out of their arses and let the building industry get on with the job by ditching the RMA for starters instead of, as usual, just TALKING about it!
