I know little if anything about pandemic terminology, but include the '0' here because it is sometimes given verbally by Dr Bloomfield and in follow-up texts during the press conferences - as also in overseas TV coverage. Other than that, the precise terminology matters little to me since what ultimately counts is whether or not the number is less than 1.00, as I understand it is at present.

The 0 stopped it from being valid. There is no valid URL that is preceded by 0.

No the reference delivered nought before I tried to help.
You posted an address that cannot work and you are not bothered. So you don't
care if anybody sees what you are posting about?
I was trying to help because the URL is worthwhile but your inborn lack of
empathy shows you up for what you are.
I won't try again.

FYI, have returned to my opening post in the thread and clicked on the Tinyurl ref. Up comes the required URL with first page of the website appended. Bob's yer uncle. Done and dusted.

Be ruse?
I have no temper. I tried to make it possible for others to see that James
(Keith) had made a good post.
And you and your little buddy became abusive.
How about you and he do some thinking about your ru(s)eness?

The charts also demonstrate the big difference in the likelihood of
infection from the Delta Variant - perhaps well illustrated by the
screen at one MIQ Hotel that had caused no problem over a long period
for the previous variant, but caused a problem with Delta - although
thanfully only with one case. That has now been fixed by a floor to
ceiling barrier, but it does indicate we will need to be more careful
than previously about reducing levels, and it is not surprising that
talk of requiring masks to be worn in level 2 has been raised; and it
would not surpise me if there were more stringent limits on spacing in
restaurants for example.

RETROSPECTIVE

The spurious nought inadvertently appended to the URL above (qv) was ignored by my 9 year-old ASUS laptop and 2 month-old Lenovo desktop and so passed me by unawares. Both my 9 year-old ASUS laptop and recent Lenovo desktop run on Windows 10 and Firefox. It may be that other OS's and/or browsers are not so robust or transparent.

For what it is worth the OS (Windows 10) does not open URLs, only aps
do that. In your case Firefox is presumably your default browser (it
is an ap) and when you click on a URL Windows 10 passes the address to
Firefox and instructs it to open the URL.
In my case Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge both refused to open the
URL until I removed the 0.
In practice nothing is quite as cut and dried as I have written, there
are other players here including system settings. Your hardware does
not influence this specific behaviour.
I suspect the person who removed the 0 uses either Chrome or Edge,
both of which are more robust and more modern than Firefox.
I develop aps for PCs, Macs and Android.

I get the gist of it so thank you. To me at any rate, very informative.

I had tested the '0'URL on Edge just before I posted the above retrospective and as you say it did balk. Like so many, I guess, I understand the basics of domestic computers but I've never really been into the inner guts of them, only going as far and assembling them from components and configuring them in earlier times. From my layman's aspect, "friendly" Firefox and Thunderbird have served my needs sufficiently well for the past 17 years or so.
