Old Superman!
Routh isn't really old enough for this. Dean Cain might have been a better
choice.
Routh looks great and the costume is perfect, from what I can see. I
didn't think they'd spend the money, but they did.
The image I've seen looked like a Photoshop pastiche.
I'm looking forward
to this even more now.
BTW they said in the piece that Tom Welling was in. First I'd heard
that.
Welling and Durance are in. Lex turned it down, saying they wanted him to
commit with no script, shooting date, or money.
If Lex is telling the truth, then it speaks to the state of Welling's
and Durance's careers and bank balances.
I think it speaks more to the desire of these actors getting together
one last time in these roles. There's been no money in this for the
guest stars. Leonard Nimoy once observed that there's a continuing
obligation to playing a role as iconic as Spock, and that sometimes he
did so even if the money or even desire weren't there.
Michael Rosenbaum doesn't feel that way, I guess.
Yeah, it's a cameo. An actor getting a 1 or 2 minute cameo doesn't get
script approval! You do it for the fans, not for the money. I get it's
a business and he doesn't have to work for free. But something like
this keeps his name out there and builds up good will among the fans.
If he doesn't want to do it then just make up an excuse about scheduling
conflicts. Don't alienate the fans of the show by complaining about
money and the script.
Post by A FriendPost by Jim G.Post by anim8rfskKingdom Come was about twenty years ahead in the comics. I wonder if
Routh is supposed to be the Superman from RETURNS but older, bitter and
yes
alone -- in which case, Dean Cain wouldn't be perfect for it.
Also, they couldn't get Dean Cain? He's too busy or something?
I haven't heard a hint of a whisper about Lois and Clark.
Dean Cain is WAY too openly conservative and orthodox for someone like
Berlanti, which I've always assumed has played a role in how little he's
been used in this world once he made it obvious that he wasn't gonna toe
the Berlanti line.
Cain has played Kara's adoptive father in SUPERGIRL and they haven't
spent a lot of time on the older Danverses so, no, not so much.
I'm not sure if I've seen this mentioned in this thread yet but Linda
Carter may be back as Wonder Woman. She and Helen Slater are already on
the show so it's just a matter of getting them back into their old suits.
It was also announced the other day that one of the characters from the
2002 "Birds of Prey" will be reprising her role. They are clearly
putting in the effort to reach out to any and everyone. At this point
if Cain or anyone else isn't in it (Kevin Spacey excepted), it's because
they didn't want to be in it.
