When the Taleban completely destroyed the 2,000 years old
Buddhist Bamiyan Buddha in March 2001, did the Buddhist went
on a global rampage of hatred, revenge and destruction ?

If I am a Muslim, I will be extremely ashamed of the way the
extremist Muslims reacted to a few caricatures of their Prophet by
non-Muslims.
The behavior of the two groups is so contrasting and there is
little doubt as to which behavior contribute to world peace and
harmony. One is calm reaction while the other is destructive
reaction.
I hope all religions of the world can learn a lesson from the Buddhist.

Buddhists believe in the Karma. The Taliban were sent packing not long
after destroying the statues.

Liar truth from north of Perth believe in no religion. He believes
only in his own lies. You think he is telling you the truth when he
said he is a follower of some religion, you are so wrong. He is only
taking a break from updating the tribal marks and scratches on his
entire body. The only thing missing are his feathers .......... LOL

Yes there will be more peace and harmony if there are more
American and Arab Buddhist. This I have no doubt.
I am doubtful whether all Americans and Arabs will ever become
Buddhist. If anything, the number of Buddhist should decline in
the world as more and more of them evolve higher and are not
reborn. Life in the other dimensions is much much better.

From my personal point of view, what the Taliban did should be seen as
a blessing in disguise to the Buddhists around the world.

Firstly, it advertises to the world that Buddhism is a religion of
tolerant and compassion. Buddhists don't believe in overcoming hatred
with another hatred. What happened to Afghanistan is a retaliation for
the Sep 11 attack on the US not a retaliation for the destruction of
the statues.

Secondly, as a non Buddhist country anymore, its better to destroy the
statues than let the muslims desecrate the Buddhists sacred places by
urinating around the area, plundering the buddhist artifacts to sell
etc etc.

Thirdly, Buddhism is not about statue which is only a symbol of
enlightenment to us. Buddha says, "those who see my teaching see me".
