Oswald was a self actualizing Communist hitman. He imitated his hero
Fidel Castro. LHO was in competition with Che and made the ultimate
Communist hit on the US political system. He was a lone wolf amateur
sniper who took pressure off Castro and the Cuban Revolution for decades
to come.

LHO achieved his goal to change history and deeply wounded the country and
government he hated most in the world, as he blithely went about his
efforts to decapitate the political system that he so despised. He
succeeded in out maneuvering all US security efforts to protect the
President. Partly due to a lack of sophistication and experience the US
institutions he overcame were no match for his simple plan lacking any
complicated stealth to fire a cheap milsurp rifle at the passing
motorcade. In fact so easy even a wannabe low tech sniper could do it, and
he did.

You mean even YOU din't fall for Sabato's theory that Oswald was paid by
Castro to kill JFK? $6,500 wasn't convincing to you?

$6,500.00 in 1963 had the same buying power as $52,710.72 in 2018

Don't know, you will have to ask Stormy if she measured Trump's friendly

Of course, it was testified to that he liked JFK and thought he was a
"great leader". An when it came to it he ran away to save himself from
being made the 'patsy'.

See, I can make up phony stories too.

The term today is "self-radicalized". Looking at Oswald`s reading
material in New Orleans it was almost all political or heroic fiction...

To the Oswald defenders this is proof he *wasn't* a Marxist; no, it's
proof that he was pretending to be one.

Some of the conspiracy advocates - the writer Carmine Savastano, who used
to post here - says Oswald wasn't a Marxist since he never attended any
Marxist meetings or met with other Marxists. He believes it was a
"legend", his cover for intelligence work. And that he had a crude, simple
understanding of Marxism. So: no interactions with Marxist, no
understanding of Marxism equals not a Marxist.

This is a strange standard for being a Marxist. If someone were to claim
to be a fascist, an admirer of Hitler and someone who believed Jews ran
the world, we wouldn't say he couldn't be a fascist unless he attended
Nazi Party meetings. We'd all say, "This person is a Nazi, a fascist."

As you point out, Oswald was "self-radicalized" and self taught (as he
admitted). Where would a high school dropout get a sophisticated
understanding of Marx? He had to teach himself; so it's clear he would
have a simplistic understanding of the concepts behind Marxism.

In any case, he certainly detested the America political and economic
systems. Let's set aside the "Was he a Marxist?" question an ask, "Did he
hate the US?" The answer to that is an emphatic yes.

It takes Oswald`s personality out of the equation. He didn`t play well
with others, I think for him to be a member of a group would mean he was
just another "whatever the group was". I think in his mind he was more
than the people around him, so would be selling himself short to sit
around with a bunch of other commies talking commie shop, it would be
admitting he was no better.

Oswald was a well read activist who studied Communist mentality:

Mao
Political power grows out of the barrel of a gun.

Lenin
The goal of socialism is communism.

One man with a gun can control 100 without one.

Stalin
The only real power comes out of a long rifle.

Death is the solution to all problems. No man - no problem.

Castro
Men do not shape destiny, Destiny shapes men for the hour.

It does matter how small you are if you have faith and a plan.

A revolution is a struggle to the death between the future and the
past.

Che
The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe.
You have to make it fall.

I would probably have more in common with a whale
than with a bourgeois married couple employed at
worthy institutions that I would wipe from the face
of the earth if it was given to me to do so.

It's difficult to tell how and how much he believed in Marxism - as he
understood it - and when it, Marxism, was simply something, an idea, that
substituted for his dislike of the world. And remember he insisted on
calling himself a Marxist and not a communist. Again, however he
understood the term.

As his brother Robert said, if Lee had stayed in the Soviet Union he would
have ended up shooting Khrushchev.

Oswald wasn't going to be happy anywhere.

Interesting question. Yes and no. In retrospect the American Revolution
was an overreaction to the cost analysis of protecting the colonies. Our
forefathers wanted something for nothing. They appealed to the Crown send
troops for protection of the Colonies but did not wish a partnership to
underwrite that cost. They basically wanted free Government services.
Sound familiar?

French and Indian War Facts
http://www.softschools.com/facts/world_history/french_and_indian_war_facts/985/

Many of the Revolutionary War heroes ended up broke and died in poverty.
It would have been better for all concerned had there been no Revolution
or US Civil War. Cooperation between the Colonies and Great Briton
could've been possible and the United States would have developed large
enough to be granted the same status of Canada, Australia, and New
Zealand. A few historians attribute both the Revolution and the US Civil
War to the devious machinations of Secret Societies like the Masonic
Order. So the mysterious Shadow Government was a major influence from the
earliest establishment of the Colonial period according to some authors.
