Late-night talk shows are a monotonous abyss of angry left-wing trolls who
spew lame "jokes" that alienate half the nation.
According to a new study by the Media Research Center, a whopping 81
percent of political jokes told on major late-night talk shows in 2023
targeted conservatives.
"Throughout all of 2023, the late-night comedians told a total of 9,518
political jokes, and of these 7,729 or 81 percent were directed at someone
or something on the right side of the political spectrum," the
conservative media watchdog found.
There are reasons for that. First, right-wingnuts just naturally are the butt of
jokes. It's because they're not only stupid, they are *willfully* stupid, and
that's funny. Second, humor is just a tool of the political left. Right-wingnuts
just aren't good at humor. There are only two right-wing humorists I've ever
seen who were kind of funny, Dennis Miller and P.J. O'Rourke, and P.J. wasn't
even actually conservative, but libertarian. And Miller was only kind of funny.
Usually with right-wingnut comedians, there's a surly, "Oh, yeah?" tone to their
comedy. It's like they're always reacting to a good joke told by a left-wing
comedian at the expense of right-wingnuts, and the right-wingnut comedians sound
defensive, not original. That's absolutely true of "Babylon Bee." They are only
rarely funny. Instead, they sound like they're trying to retaliate against the
very funny "Onion."
