Post by Sara KirkPost by Peter CeresolePost by Sara KirkGood grief! I thought everyone had seen Spartacus!
Good grief woman! Allow some of us *some* taste.
Oh Peter, it's the sort of thing you end up watching aged about 7
without a clue if it's any good or not. It's just one of those films
that I always assume everyone has seen. Like Ben Hur.
And I've not seen that either.
But I have seen 'Dune'- at the cinema, even. It was the giveaway DVD in
this week's Sindy and I looked at it again and, by god, it's bad. Bad,
bad, baddidy BAD. So bad it's not even good- it comes out the other side
and reenters badness. I mean there are a couple or three nice sequences
but they are short and lost in a trackless desert of badness. Full of
bad worms. And bloody awful acting, with creaky lines. And dreadful hair
cuts. All the way through I was cringing for the poor buggers who had to
finish it after what was, clearly, a horrendous first cut. Ooooooo.
Lynch must have been longing for a worm to rise up and swallow him.
