So, has it fallen to me to do these now?... Johnston stopped doing them
a while ago (and hasn't been around much lately), and Obveeus may have
departed for good, as he hasn't been seen in a while...
If so, don't expect these to be "regularly posted" anymore - I'll do
'em when I feel like it. [shrug]
Two-day catch-up here, which will be brief...:
Killjoys (recorded) - "Wargasm". Covered adequately by Jim, though I
think I liked this more than he did. The only thing I didn't like is
Johnny later acting like nothing had happened - the dude would barely
be walking, he wouldn't be all happy-go-lucky.
Anyway, hope they can adequately wrap this show up in the
20-episodes over two seasons to come...
Midnight, Texas (recorded) - "Sexy Beast". I'm a little confused -
Taylor Gildersleeve (now "Taylor Black") didn't look this good when she
did the Lifetime flick "Sugar Daddies"! Has she just put weight on in
*all the right places!* since then?!
Anyway, in this one, the gang fights a succubus (played by Black). I
thought the ending of this one was anti-climatic. We also get more
background on Arielle Kebbel's character (though we still don't know
what she "is", yet...).
Salvation (recorded) - "Coup de Grace". The show may have "jumped the
shark" with this episode. But this one had way too much tedious "shadow
government conspiracy", and not enough everything else. Meanwhile,
Grace should banish her daughter to boarding school (or is it too late
for that?!...), and Liam should run as far away from Jillian as
humanely possible. And Autumn Reeser makes another appearance, as does
John Noble.
One Small Indiscretion (Lieftime) - Vengenful Tiera Skovbye wants to
make Ashley Scott responsible for ruining her life. Unfortunately, she
falls short of the mark... :(
Maggie & Bianca: Fashion Friends (The Netflix) - This one managed to
crack me up in a couple of episodes, especially the episode where the
gang meets the rival band (named "CoolGhost") that they have to beat in
the first round of the music competition, and they're *exactly* like
the gang's band (right down to each person), except that the rival band
is all heartless and cynical and are just in it for the money. I'll
give you one guess as to which band won the first round of the music
competition!
Meanwhile, it seems like Yuki has finally gone completely insane, as
does Miss Tucker in one episode (interestingly, I think Tucker may
actually be played by an Italian-speaking *American* actress, though I
have no way to verfiy this...).
I also watched some more "Violetta" but it's too complicated to
explain. I'm still cracking up at the father's fiancee, though - this
actress is perfect at playing a Spanish-speaking live-action cartoon!!
;)
