Faith can be used equally to either prove or disprove anything.
If there was evidence the gullible suckers would not need faith.

There is no verifiable evidence of any god(s). None whatsoever.

Faith does not require proof. In fact, faith is defined as a strongly held opinion for which there is no proof.

When you call her that, you're deliberately lying. "Dyke" is a derogatory
slang term for 'lesbian' but Jeanne is 100% hetero and you know she is.

Faith doesn't have a damn thing to do with proof. You can have faith
in things or people which can be proven right or wrong.

People had a lot of faith in Bernie Madoff, and look how that turned
out.

If you had a brain, you would have done the research I just did and found this:

From Dictionary.com

faith

noun
1.
confidence or trust in a person or thing:
faith in another's ability.
2.
belief that is not based on proof:
He had faith that the hypothesis would be substantiated by fact.
3.
belief in God or in the doctrines or teachings of religion:
the firm faith of the Pilgrims.

I would call you stupid if I thought it would do any good.
You are immune to education, so it would be futile.

You can have faith in any damn thing you want, but you still have no
proof. In the case of religion, you are putting absolute faith in
something someone else has told you, without anything concrete to back
up those beliefs. Quite frankly, that is nuts IMO.

These definitions have been shown to theist trolls like you several
times. You aren't telling us anything we didn't already know. You
seem to be combining#2 and #3. #3 says nothing about religious faith
not being based on proof. Of course we already knew that, too.

Faith can be used equally to either prove or disprove anything.
If there was evidence the gullible suckers would not need faith.
There is no verifiable evidence of any god(s). None whatsoever.
--
Faith means you don't need any evidence, dumbshit.
That's what I said, dickhead, gullible suckers don't need any evidence. None whatsoever.
Now we have the evidence to back up our faith.
Nope, you have no verifiable evidence of a god named God. None whatsoever.
I have evidence galore re the Supreme Creator, God by name.
No, you don't, Douche. You have nothing but ignorant and irrational faith.

Here, come up with "Verifiable" evidence, something
that isn't dependent upon claims/testimony.

Can't do it? Well, you depend on faith.

Huh?, what are you confused about? Your faith is that life was instantly poofed
from non-life dust. Many people say "we don't know" how life began. Most atheists
and theists I know say life probably developed by some not-yet-discovered natural
process of material formation. And I'm sure some woo-woo atheists are in some
other "poof" camp different from yours.

Everyone has some un-evidenced beliefs, but most atheists I know try to base
their beliefs on verifiable evidence; theists do too, but not about god(s).

Oh easy. e.g. My friend and I both verify that we each can repeatedly
blow up a balloon (we do it and we see it done). I've verified that
my tv has turned on a hundred times (evidence that it will probably turn on the
101st time).

Abiogenesis and aliens have nothing in common.

Atheists don't have faith in either, but abiogenesis does seem more
likely than inventing a god and attributing life to a god.

I believe there's a good probability of life on other planets (your
aliens?) but doubt that it will be proven in my lifetime or the
lifetime of our species.

Is it evidence if the police bring you to court and tell the judge they
have evidence, but that evidence is not available to the court because the
court believes you are innocent (until proven guilty)?

If it is, you're going down.

That's not what Hebrews 11:1 says.

You are confusing evidence with "confidence", "assurance", "conviction",
and "certainty"; taken from four different translations of that verse.

But, after all, that is only to be expected. The unregenerate can never
correctly interpret the Word of God.

I've never said you're not a Christian. I know you're a Jew.

And I seriously believe you're losing it, Art.

Is that the reason why you sometimes disappear, and then come

Providing a babble quote ISN'T credible evidence.

Faith in the religious sense is belief without evidence.

Is the KJV the only version you go by? That's your weakness.

And you are a liar. The KJV does *NOT* say "faith is a substance".

Go back and read it again.

The original Greek word ὑπόστασις is better translated in contemporary
English as "assurance" or "confidence".

But it's a well known fact that the unregenerate cannot interpret the Bible
the way it was intended by the Holy Spirit. So that's the price you pay for
not being one of the chosen elect of God.

Not all faith is BLIND faith. When I say I believe the sun will rise
tomorrow (eclipse notwithstanding) I am expressing faith, because
until it happens, I don't know it will happen. The odds favor it to
such a degree that I have faith it will. That kind of faith does
require evidence.

Religion, on the other hand, relies on blind faith. You are putting
faith in what you have been told by other people, who are in turn,
putting their faith in still other people.... Ultimately, faith in
people who have something to gain from your belief in what they have
been telling you.

I met one priest who told me he didn't believe in god. There are
probably many more, but to sell the idea of god they can't publicly
admit they don't believe it themselves.

With "holy" men their behavior often gives them away though...

Religion is the longest running con game in history.

But this is NOT faith. It's confidence based on millennia of data.
It's taken for granted as part of a lifetime's experience.

It's the polar opposite of faith, and we would be very surprised if it
didn't happen the way it always has.

These morons need to lie about what is in our minds. To us, about us.

Faith can be used equally to either prove or disprove anything.
No it can't.
It can, but only in the minds of the religiously inculcated.
NO.Faith is belief that requires no evidence, you babbling jackass.

Did you ever read Bertrand Russell's essays on induction? He referenced
Hume and Kant, IIRC, but I'm not smart enough ever to have read then. (I
know I'm not because I tried.)

LOL. I read a lot of Russell when I was young (40 years ago). He pointed
out that there's no logical reason to believe that what has happened
repeatedly/repeatably in the past is what will continue to happen, but of
course that's one of the cornerstones of science. The assumption is
hard-wired.

Nope, you have bona-fide evidence that the sun will rise (it has risen thousands
of times in your lifetime, and all your fellow humans verify they've seen the same).
So you have evidence-based "confidence", not un-evidenced "faith".

You have used the Fallacy of Equivacation by using a word, "faith", in
two different meanings, one involving probability (you can actually calculate
probability of sunrise) and the religion faith with zero evidence.

Religious people want you to continue pretending their faith is as legitimate
as evidence-based (scientific) confidence and probability.

Then the pathological liar shouldn't claim his beliefs are fact.

The deliberately stupid liar knows perfectly well that when they make
contested claims of fact in the real world, they either have to put up
or shut up.

Because in the real world, it doesn't matter where these claims come
from.

Citing faith to people who don't have faith, and then lying that the
ordinary requires faith, is a sign that there is something seriously
wrong with him.

If there was evidence the gullible suckers would not need faith.
There is no verifiable evidence of any god(s). None whatsoever.

I think that "faith" is better understood when
it's called "faithfulness" and it is a matter of
performing the religion according to its rules -
not of what you "believe" while you are doing it.
The gods want you to show up at the temple, and to
bring your money - that is what's said. Insofar
as belief matters, the gods want you to believe
that you should show up. With money.
