A thought bubble that I shared on enWS was whether the broader Wikisource
community had an interest in getting English language and available
translations online in 2018. I thought it would be a bit of a wikimedia
talking point if we could do soemthing for such an iconic work.

For non-English languages are there scans available of public domain
translations? I know that enWS and frWS have 1831 editions, though not
scan-supported.

The oldest Polish translation was published in 1958.
As the translator death date is unknown (he may be still alive), we cannot publish it in plwikisource before 2099.

Hi,

On fr.ws we have two editions :
- 1821 with a scan ( https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q51434118 )
- 1922 without scan (because it's not PD-France, just PD-US pre-1923 ;
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q51435158 )

I left a message to ask for wikisorcerors to finish the proofreading of the
first one.

I will try to list all editions in French on
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q150827, feel free to do the same for your
languages.

Unfortunately the earliest translation into Catalan of Frankenstein was in
1993 by Maria Antònia Oliver i Cabrer. So still some years until it is in
the public domain...
