Air Force VETERAN?

Popovich served a TOTAL of FIVE YEARS of REQUIRED active duty in the
United States Air Force, during which he toured Eastern Europe and the
Soviet Union WITH THE U.S. ARMED FORCES BASKETBALL TEAM.

[giggle]

In 1972, he was selected as captain of the Armed Forces Team, which won
the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) championship. This earned him an
invitation to the 1972 U.S. Olympic Basketball Team trials.

You want to talk about REAL Air force veterans... start with my father,
who spent 20 years active duty and ANOTHER 20 years civil service FOR the
Air force.

Five years... LOL

And the ONLY he did while in, was to play basketball.

Popovich is another ex-conservative, who now pretends to be liberal,
because he coaches a bunch of fatherless Democrats.

Oh, like you too? Show me your DD214 (discharge). Five years in, does NOT
make you a "veteran", especially if you only played basketball. He might
as well have been in the Reserves, and we all know how you pinko
snowflakes feel about those who have served in the Reserves and not the
"regular" military services.

Well, I guess to YOU, playing IS serving. LOL

I was the son of an Air Force Sergeant... I fucking KNOW better than to be
imprisoned like that. I've served my country in "other" ways, moron. ;-)

Dipshit Popovich TOURED around Europe and Russia while in during
peacetime. My father was in during war, and was IN Korea. He WANTED to go
to Vietnam, but was forced to stay home and continue on an important
guided bomb project.

You ASK "old timers" if 5 years in makes a veteran. My father's 88 years
old... he'd STILL smack your pansy-ass down, if you said a 5 year (barely
even enough time to make sergeant), is a "veteran".

HAHAHAHAHH

Here, asshole:

http://www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs/article/Air-Force-life-for-Popovich-Spy-satellites-and-5848368.php

When a U.S. amateur basketball team toured the Soviet Union in 1972 during
the height of the Cold War, one player was uniquely qualified to peek
behind the Iron Curtain.

Gregg Popovich was a young Air Force officer who had majored in Soviet
studies, spoke fluent Russian and trained in military intelligence.

Popovich graduated from the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs with a
degree in Soviet studies and became an active-duty officer June 3, 1970,
according to records released by the National Personnel Records Center in
St. Louis, a federal agency that collects information about military veterans.

His first assignment was with the 6594th Support Group in Sunnyvale,
California, in the Silicon Valley. It was part of the top-secret Air Force
Satellite Control Facility under the command of the Space and Missile
Systems Organization, or SAMSO, which oversaw almost every aspect of the
U.S. military's forays into space.

But his next military assignment took him to a remote outpost in
southeast Turkey called Diyarbakir Air Station, where huge radar antennae
tracked Soviet intercontinental ballistic missile launches.

“The first installation at Diyarbakir was originally intended to provide
mere surveillance of the USSR's missile test range at Kapustin Yar south
of Stalingrad — that is to detect missile launchings,” a declassified CIA
report about the radar outpost stated.

You can post that "definition" shit all you want, grunk... any old timer
will NEVER consider a 5 year BASKETBALL PLAYER, a "veteran" OF the Air
Force.

My father and those he served with for 20 or more years sure don't. Come
have a beer with us, punk... see how long you last with a bunch of non-
coms who'd eat you up and shit you out in about 10 minutes.

Fuck that definition shit... I looked it up too, ya moronic pussy. I
deemed it worthless in REAL world military thoughts and feelings on it. A
friend of my father's said anyone who joins then gets out at 5 years, is
NOT a military man OR veteran.

If Popovich was such a veteran, why'd he leave after 5 years? There was no
war on... he hadn't served any tours-of-duty, and he sure didn't DO
anything "military"... he played fucking BASKETBALL.

Who fucking CARES if he "knew" Russian anything?

Not our fault

Are we, the fossil-fuel-burning public, partially responsible for this
recent warming trend? Almost assuredly not.

These small global temperature increases of the last 25 years and over
the last century are likely natural changes that the globe has seen many
times in the past.

Human kind has little or nothing to do with the recent temperature changes

William M. Gray
Colorado State University
This small warming is likely a result of the natural alterations in
global ocean currents which are driven by ocean salinity variations.
Ocean circulation variations are as yet little understood.

Human kind has little or nothing to do with the recent temperature
changes. We are not that influential.

There is a negative or complementary nature to human-induced greenhouse
gas increases in comparison with the dominant natural greenhouse gas of
water vapour and its cloud derivatives.

It has been assumed by the human-induced global warming advocates that
as anthropogenic greenhouse gases increase that water vapour and
upper-level cloudiness will also rise and lead to accelerated warming -
a positive feedback loop.

It is not the human-induced greenhouse gases themselves which cause
significant warming but the assumed extra water vapour and cloudiness
that some scientists hypothesise.

Negative feedback

The global general circulation models which simulate significant amounts
of human-induced warming are incorrectly structured to give this
positive feedback loop.

Their internal model assumptions are thus not realistic.

Mainstream opinion believes that pollution contributes to climate change
As human-induced greenhouse gases rise, global-averaged upper-level
atmospheric water vapour and thin cirrus should be expected to decrease
not increase.

Water vapour and cirrus cloudiness should be thought of as a negative
rather than a positive feedback to human-induced - or anthropogenic
greenhouse gas increases.

No significant human-induced greenhouse gas warming can occur with such
a negative feedback loop.

Look at the link above. No Russian studies, no Intel duty, The award is from 73 to 76 for basketball. That is the same time frame where people are trying to say he was doing secret squirrel work. I am a vet and know how to read a dd-214. "Pop" did his 5 year obligation in a manner most vets consider disgraceful. I sure would like to see a copy of the regulation at that time for meeting the 5 year obligation.

First off... Popovich is FROM East Chicago, Indiana, dumbass. Because he
COACHES spoiled bratty Democrats IN Texas, doesn't mean his message comes
FROM Texas.
You're a fucking joke.
San Antonio Spurs coach, Team USA coach, and USAF
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
